(Clearwisdom.net) I know a government official in Shenyang whose department took charge of "Falun Gong issues" on April 25, 1999 when Falun Gong practitioners appealed in Zhongnanhai, Beijing. He is now in charge of the neighborhood committee where I live.
The community and neighborhood where I live know that I'm a Falun Dafa practitioner, and this made me become a target for them to monitor. One day when this official came to my home, I told him the truth about what happened. He told me that he was assigned to arrest Dafa practitioners in Beijing (the arrest did not occur, though, because of the peaceful settlement of the event). He said there were too many practitioners--over 10,000. He continued, "In the beginning, none of you practitioners were on the main street in Zhongnanhai. Later on, somebody directed Dafa practitioners to that street." He didn't say explicitly, but he was implying that somebody planned to make it look like Falun Dafa practitioners were surrounding Zhongnanhai. This laid a foundation to persecute Falun Dafa in the future. He asked me a lot of questions about Dafa. In the end, he said, "I read all your Dafa books, actually."
The next time I met him, I advised him not to stay involved in the persecution of Falun Dafa. He replied: "I avoid this issue (the persecution of Falun Dafa). I would wholeheartedly charge into a burning building to fulfill my duty, but I would find some excuse to not get involved with harming Falun Gong practitioners. I realized the truth three years ago, when karmic retribution came to me. (3 years ago, he became seriously ill, and had to spend over 10,000 Yuan (1) on surgery to stay alive) "Moreover," he said, "my recovery was because of you Falun Dafa folks, whom I usually hang out with. You people protected me and allowed me to live." I told him: "It was because you still have a heart of kindness, and you stopped your persecution of Dafa. Also, it was because you read Dafa books and understand Dafa more clearly, so trouble stays away from you."
