San Diego: Practitioners Raise Awareness of Falun Dafa and the Persecution during Sun God Festival

(Clearwisdom.net) The 22^nd-annual Sun God festival was held on May 21 on the campus of University of California, San Diego.

According to the UCSD Guardian, a university newspaper, thousands of observers visited more than 50 different booths set up as part of the festival. Different campus organizations and off-campus groups provided information and entertainment to students. Falun Gong practitioners also participated in the activity.

The report said, "A group from off campus dressed in traditional Chinese clothing and meditated to demonstrate the practice of Falun Dafa. At the booth, students were also asked to sign a petition asking for the release of an American citizen allegedly imprisoned by the Chinese government for his participation in the practice."

The report also quoted Chung Lien, a graduate student and president of the Falun Dafa Club, who said, "On one hand, we're promoting the practice, but on the other we're also raising awareness of the persecution in China."
