An 87-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner who lives in a mountain village in Shandong Province distributes truth-clarifying materials every night between midnight and 4 AM. She sends forth righteous thoughts wherever she travels, carrying a large bag with flyers and other items. Her feet were bound as a child (typical for that period in China), which makes walking very uncomfortable, yet she walks to more than twelve villages along narrow mountain paths. She normally returns early enough to do the Falun Gong exercises at home.
The Village Secretary is moved by her compassion and always, when they meet, says, "Grandma, give me one of your flyers, so you won't have too walk so far tonight." After a long period of time, the nighttime patrol guards became acquainted with her. They assisted her by lighting the dark paths for her with their flashlights.
She says, "These materials are hard to get and come from far away places. I do not know how to do other things, but I can pass out these truth-clarifying materials."
A Miserable Taxi Driver's Story
Recently, I went out of town to handle some business matters, when a cab driver passed me a newspaper with a smile and asked, "Take a look?" I politely refused and told him that I very seldom read the newspaper.
He replied, "I don't read them either, the officials require us to pay for them and sell them." He obviously was not happy about it. He added, "These days, the newspaper is full of lies. It only reports what the upper level of government wants printed. They are lying to the people!"
We started to chat and the topic of Falun Gong came up. Before I could even express my thoughts, he began speaking, "Falun Gong has taught people to be good, not to compete with others, be nice to others and consider others first. But the government fabricated the story that Falun Gong has an evil purpose. What kind of evil purpose could these good people have? To be frank with you, my mother and her younger sister used to practice Falun Gong. My mother used to be very weak and had a stomach condition for which she took medicine daily. After practicing Falun Gong, she recovered and become very energetic. Her doctors were surprised to see her recovery and asked her what she did that cured her. Unfortunately, since the government banned the practice and started the persecution, my mother stopped practicing and died less than 2 years ago at only 65 years of age." He was quite angry at the persecution.
