1. [Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province] Xingcheng City Establishes a Special Case Group to Deal with Falun Dafa Practitioners' Truth-clarification Activities

Yaowang Township of Xingcheng City held a brainwashing session for Falun Dafa practitioners. When practitioners in Xingcheng City learned this news they went to Yaowang Township to clarify the truth. However, they were reported by the people assigned to monitor Dafa practitioners. Dafa practitioner Mr. Yin Wenpeng was arrested, but other practitioners left using righteous thoughts. Currently Yin Wenpeng is being held at the Xingcheng City Detention Center, but his actual situation is still unknown. The home of another practitioner who used to practice Falun Gong at the same practice site as Yin Wenpeng was searched, and his property was confiscated. The recent persecution in Xingcheng City indicates that they have established a special case group to persecute Falun Gong.

2. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Xia Wenzhong Suffers from Partial Paralysis as a Result of Torture

Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Xia Wenzhong and Mr. Li Sheyan from Cheng'an County of Handan City, Hebei Province were arrested on August 31, 2002 for attending a Falun Dafa experience sharing conference. The two practitioners were relentlessly tortured at the county detention center. After they were illegally sentenced to imprisonment by the county court they were transferred to Daming Jail, where they were brutally beaten. Because they were extremely weak they were sent back to the detention center. An insider disclosed that Xia Wenzhong is now suffering from hemiplegia and is in critical condition. His family requested to visit him and tried to get him released; however, the policemen at the detention center ignored their request. Instead, they used the opportunity to extort money from Xia's family. On March 16 they even attempted to send Xia Wenzhong to Shijiazhuang Prison to continue detaining him.

3. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Police Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Li Shufen

Ms. Li Shufen is a practitioner from Donggou Village, Xixiaying Township of Zunhua City. On February 22, 2004, when she was clarifying the truth to people in Zunhua City, she was arrested by a plain-clothes policeman and imprisoned in the Zunhua Detention Center. At about ten o'clock p.m. that same day, the Political Commissar of Xixiaying Township, Wang Heqi, in collaboration with the policemen of the local police station, searched Ms. Li Shufen's house and confiscated Falun Dafa books, truth-clarification materials, and flyers. They also illegally detained Ms Li Shufen's husband, who is not a Falun Gong practitioner, and detained him at the Township's police station for eighteen hours.

4. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] High School Teacher Ms. Zhao Min Has Been Arrested

Hangzhou Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhao Min is a high school teacher and has a five-year-old daughter. She was forced into homelessness for two and a half years to escape persecution. She has recently been arrested. Ms. Zhao Min's husband is in the United States. It is unknown if he is aware of her arrest or not.

5. [Guangdong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Deng Lingmin from Hunan Province Is Detained at the Baiyun District Detention Center

Twenty-year-old Hunan Dafa practitioner Ms. Deng Lingmin was reported to the authorities in the middle of January 2004. The truth-clarification materials and computer equipment in her rented house in the Jiangxia Residential Area, Baiyun District were confiscated. Luckily she was able to return to her hometown. However, since the police confiscated her address book, they have been following her movements very closely. At about ten o'clock in the morning of March 5, 2004 she was arrested while at work at a new company. She is now being detained at the Baiyun District Detention Center. The Dafa books and more than two thousand blank VCD discs at her dormitory were confiscated.

Ms. Deng Lingmin's mother, Liu Shixiu, was also arrested in May last year and has been sentenced. She is currently appealing her conviction.

6. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Tian Hanqin Has Been Arrested

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Tian Hanqin worked at the Guangzhou office of the Shenzhen Special Zone Newspaper. On February 29, 2004 he was arrested by police at a security checkpoint for bringing truth-clarification VCD discs onto a train. He is now locked up at the Xinshizhen Railway Police Station of Baiyun District (Telephone: [phone]).

Later, police searched his office and confiscated Falun Dafa materials and his computer, and shut down the Internet connection of the newspaper, which seriously hindered its business. However, the leaders of the newspaper were forced to keep their resentment to themselves. Tian Hanqin is now facing dismissal from the newspaper.

In another development, when the police searched Mr. Tian's house they found his wife's photo and issued a warrant for her arrest. She is only a housewife, a good, common citizen. Then why are the police so reckless? It is said that the more practitioners they arrest the bigger the bonus they will receive. If they put every Falun Gong practitioner behind bars, the police would get twelve thousand Yuan (2). Sometimes the legal school, the public security bureau, the local police station, and the work unit fight over Falun Dafa practitioners because they all want to claim the bonus for the arrest.

7. [Congren County, Jiangxi Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Yang Wenhua Is Arrested

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yang Wenhua of Congren County, Jiangxi Province is a teacher. He taught the students in his class to be good people, to act in accordance with the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance," and that Falun Dafa is the righteous way. As a result, the students in his class were good people and all received very good marks in their studies. However, the school leaders wanted to suspend his teaching job. The parents of the students in his class told the school this Falun Dafa practitioner was a good teacher, and that if he were fired they would send their children to other schools. Because of the pressure from the parents the school agreed to let the practitioner continue to teach. However, about one month ago Yang Wenhua was arrested by the "610 Office" and his present situation is unknown.

In recent days more than ten Falun Dafa practitioners were taken to brainwashing centers.
