(Clearwsidom.net) On the 5th anniversary of the April 25th appeal, Falun Gong practitioners in Vancouver held several commemorative activities to explain the facts of the event and expose the lies fabricated by Jiang's regime to justify the persecution of Falun Gong.
The symbolic trial of Jiang laid out his crimes in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in that hope that justice will prevail. They also did the Falun Gong exercises together.

On the evening of April 24, 2004, practitioners held a candlelight vigil in front of the Chinese consulate. Practitioners from Seattle also participated.
The candlelight symbolized Falun Gong practitioners' perseverance in upholding their personal belief during the last five years. They call for more people to pay attention to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Drivers in passing vehicles honked their horns to express support.
On April 25, banners and posters were set up in a roadside park in Vancouver's Chinatown. Practitioners explained the facts of the April 25th peaceful protest in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English.
Ms. Li and Mr. Wei, who participated in the 4.25 appeal in 1999, recalled their experiences on stage. They explained that the police led practitioners to encircle the Party leaders' compound.
The then prime minister Zhu Rongji met with practitioner representatives and agreed to their three requests: release arrested practitioners in Tianjin, have the freedom to practice, and allow the publication of Falun Gong books. Both sides agreed, which was praised by foreign media as an example of the openness of the Chinese government.
However, Jiang wrote to members of the Politburo and other leaders on the night of April 25 and spoke in a conference of Party leaders on June 7, 1999. He framed Falun Gong and initiated the cruelest persecution in history.
In the symbolic trial, Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Tianxiao appeared as a witness to enumerate Jiang's atrocities by relating his own experience in China. The purpose of the symbolic trial was to help more people to learn the truth and not be fooled by Jiang's lies.
Two songs were sung between events: "Coming for You" and "Falun Dafa Is Great."
Their activities caught the attention of many people. Practitioners distributed flyers and answered questions. Many people learned the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution.
