Facts of the Persecution

The Sanshui City Female Forced Labour Camp of Guangdong Province has escalated the level of persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners. When Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yang Qiujuan went on a hunger strike to protest against the persecution, she was subjected to force-feeding, having her hands cuffed behind her back and not permitted to sit, go to the toilet, or sleep. She was also subjected to electric shock torture. Ms. Zhang Li's once healthy body is now skeletal and she has bruises from the electric shocks on her face and neck. Ms. Zhou Xuefei from Sichuan province was moved to a so-called "cottage" designated for Falun Gong practitioners; it is a place where practitioners are hung-up and tortured. Ms. Chen Zhijun from Shenzhen City suffered from an injured heel bone that took a long time to heal after some drug addicts pushed her to the floor, causing her to sustain severe injuries.

The Persecution in Wuyi County, Hebei Province has occurred as follows: Ms. Wang Dongmei was abducted to the Shijiazhuang Forced Labour Camp and as a result of the torture, she lapsed into a coma. The police notified her husband, who took her home, but due to the degradation of her mental state as a result of the torture, her husband divorced her. She now has no home and has to rely on the kindness of others, going from place to place. The police took another practitioner, Ms. Chen Shuxiang into custody where she was tortured for over a week just for distributing materials on May 13, 2003, [World Falun Dafa Day and the birthday of the founder of Falun Gong] revealing the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong. Only after her family paid 5,000 yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 yuan] would they allowed her to go home. As soon as her health recovered a little, they sent her to the Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp. Another female Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Li Xia, has been illegally held at the No. 1 Brigade, Female Section of Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp of Hebei province, where she has been subjected to brutal beatings and sleep deprivation, which has caused her to lose consciousness three times.

Ms. Wang Guilan from Xushui County, Baoding City, Hebei Province went to Beijing to peacefully appeal in the lunar month of November, 1999, and as a result, was detained at the County's detention center for twenty two days. She was subsequently taken into custody many times, subjected to brainwashing, torture and a variety of verbal abuse. Her family also had a huge amount of money extorted from them.

Ms. Zhang Qiongfang from Xinjin County, Sichuan Province went to Beijing twice to peacefully appeal for Falun Gong and was sentenced to three years imprisonment. She returned home in September 2003. In October 2003, she was again abducted by the Xinjin Public Security Bureau and jailed at the Qionglai Detention Center of Sichuan Province and sentenced to three years in imprisonment by local police in March 2004. She is still being detained there.
