(Clearwisdom.net) The Williamstown Festival, known for its twenty-seven years of history and unique style, is the most charming and culturally rich event of the city. A fascinating program--a performance by Falun Dafa practitioners on the last weekend of March, 2004--displayed the richness of Chinese culture and the practitioners' enthusiasm to local residents.
On the morning of March 12, Channel 7 of Australian National TV reported on the Falun Gong practitioners' morning practice and told the TV audience about the upcoming performance by Falun Gong practitioners in Williamstown.
The parade along Nelson Place started on the evening of March 12. The Falun Gong procession's peaceful, refreshing performances won waves of applause and praise. Almost one hundred Chinese and western Falun Gong practitioners participated in the parade.
After the parade, a young woman and her child quickened their pace to catch up with us. She said, "Falun Dafa is the most unique group in the parade. It is beautiful!" She was moved to tears. She said she had heard about Falun Dafa but didn't know much about it. She would learn more about Dafa when she went back home.
On March 28, Falun Dafa practitioners gave a wonderful dance performance and exercise demonstration on the center stage and the community stage. Ms. Julie Day, the organizer of the event, said the Falun Dafa parade and performance were special programs at the Williamstown Festival. The audience was deeply impressed with the orderliness, peacefulness and beauty that Falun Gong practitioners had shown. She said it was the fourth year that Falun Gong had brought their wonderful programs to Williamstown. Ms. Day was most moved to say that Falun Gong was the only art performance group that gave a stage performance for free.
Falun Gong practitioners introduced Falun Dafa's history, taught the exercises and exposed the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by Jiang's group at a booth in Commonwealth Reserve, the main activity site of the Festival. Many people had learned about the persecution and were very concerned about the Falun Gong practitioners under persecution. Some asked how they could help. Falun Gong practitioners asked them to tell more people about the goodness of Falun Dafa and to help expose the persecution.
The Williamstown Festival lasted only two days, but the pure beauty of Falun Dafa and the peacefulness of practitioners remained in people's mind.
