Facts of the Persecution

Forty-three-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Fengwu, from No. 8 Neighborhood, Xinggong Street, Chaoyang Town, Huinan County, Jilin Province, was abducted by the local police on January 17, 2002, and sentenced to two years of forced labor. He was sent to the Weizigou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City. His term was up on March 16, 2004, but the labor camp still would not release him. Later, his family managed to have him released.

Falun Dafa practitioner, Ms. Huang Yulan was a worker in the Maoming City Petroleum Company in Guangdong Province. She was arrested on the evening of September 25, 2001, and later was tortured for one month in a brainwashing program held in a place that the authorities called the, "Legal Education School." Another Falun Dafa practitioner who worked in the same company, Mr. Liang Shu, was also arrested on the same night by the Maoming City "610 Office" (1). He was abducted and taken to the Maoming City Detention Center. Because he never gave up his practice of Falun Dafa, he was sent to the same brainwashing program in the "Legal Education School," and was tortured to death shortly thereafter.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Fengrong was a teacher in the Changyi No.2 Elementary School in Jilin City, Jilin Province. She was abducted and taken to the brainwashing program held in the Huapi Factory in 2001. The authorities came to arrest her soon after she was released from the brainwashing program. Ms. Liu was forced to leave home in order to avoid being wrongfully arrested. On June 6, 2002, Ms. Liu was taken away again from a house she had rented, and was detained in the Jilin City Detention Center. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison on March 3, 2003, and is now imprisoned in the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City. Because she practiced the Falun Gong exercises, Ms. Liu was tortured by being tied to "dead man's bed" (2) for 21 days.

On March 8, 2004, during the period of the two congresses in China, the Xianghe County "610 Office" and the Hebei Province Police Station monitored a large number of people and prevented them from going to appeal for Falun Dafa. They came to Falun Dafa practitioners Zhang Shun and (his wife) Yan Fengxia's home. The couple refused to open the door. The police brought a locksmith the next day, broke open the door, and arrested the couple.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Qi Xia was an employee of the Weihui City Folk Art Museum in Henan Province. She went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa in October 1999. She was arrested, and held for two and a half months. Ms. Qi was sentenced to six years in prison, and later, the sentence was later reduced to four years. She was jailed in the Henan Province No. 5 Women's Prison, where she was forced to perform hard labor 18 hours a day for 10 months. Ms. Qi's whole body shook from exhaustion, and her fingers became deformed and were in extreme pain. The wicked people in the prison secretly put drugs in her food. These drugs made Ms. Qi dizzy and absentminded, and they made her unable to bend down, made her nauseous, and caused her stomach to bloat. Ms. Qi was released because of her bad physical condition. However, she was able to recover quickly because she continuously practiced the Falun Dafa exercises.

I am a Falun Dafa practitioner named Ms. Zhang Xinrui. I am a resident of Heishan County, Liaoning Province. Ever since Jiang and his regime started persecuting Falun Dafa, the local police and the town and neighborhood administration often came to my house or called to harass me. On many occasions, the police stormed into my house without reason. They ransacked my home, abducted me, and extorted money from me. They dared to charge that while inside my own home, I was disrupting social order.

My name is Ms. Liu Xiufei and I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. I am from the same town as Ms. Zhang Xinrui, and I am 44 years old. I had more than 20 severe ailments before practicing Falun Dafa. It was Master and Falun Dafa who saved me from death, and gave me a second life. After July 20, 1999, the neighborhood administration, the local police and the town government constantly came to harass me in my home. They arrested me several times and extorted money from me.

On April 1, 2004, it was revealed on Minghui.net (3) that Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Deng Lingmin was on hunger strike in a detention center run by the Xintian County Police Station, and her life was in danger. We have since learned that officials from the municipal and provincial level came to Xintian County, and that Ms. Deng was sent home on April 2, 2004. However, there are still several police officers at her home who closely monitor her.

(1) The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

(2) "dead man's bed": a practitioner's four limbs are stretched out and tied to the four corners of an icy-cold metal bed. The practitioner cannot move at all. Neither is he or she allowed to get up to eat, drink, or go to the bathroom. This treatment can last from several hours up to more than a dozen days. This type of cruel torture causes severe damage to the practitioner both mentally and physically.
