Facts of the Persecution

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Yulian, from Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor. Someone had reported her in May 2002 when she was distributing truth clarification VCDs, and her name was put on the Suixi County Police Department and "610 Office"(1) wanted list. From then on, the authorities constantly harassed and persecuted her. She was forced to leave home to avoid harassment and arrest. Her husband was also implicated and was forced to resign from his job in January 2003. Ms. Chen went to her hometown during the Chinese New Year to clarify the truth to her family and friends. At midnight on January 23, 2004, personnel from the Kelu Town Police Station in Leizhou broke into her home, arrested her, and then sent her to Suixi County No. 2 Detention Center.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Xu Biju from Qingbaijiang District, Chengdu City was persecuted because she persisted in practicing Falun Dafa. Her personal belongings, valued at approximately 30,000 yuan (2), were confiscated. She was harassed and was otherwise persecuted and was forced to leave home. At 6:00 p.m. on July 9, 2003, personnel from her workplace -- Chen Jiagui, the company head, Li Yuxin, the company party secretary and Wen Zuolun, a company employee -- drove to Ms. Xu's home and attempted to take her to a brainwashing class but failed. In the evening, party secretary Li Yuxin went again to her home and harassed Ms. Xu until early the next morning. Therefore Ms. Xu Biju was forced to leave home. Chen Jiagui and Li Yuxin often harassed Ms. Xu's mother and relatives. They even intercepted their mail and opened and made copies of personal letters.

Perpetrators and Their Crimes

Falun Gong practitioners detained in Team Two of Shijiazhuang City Labor Camp are forced to work 14 to 15 hours every day. The practitioners are not allowed to meet with or talk to each other, and the inmates monitor the practitioners around the clock. Practitioners Liu Lihui and Zhang Jianbo held a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and the guards took them away. They handcuffed the practitioners to the upper berth of a bunk bed with their feet barely touching the ground. These wicked people force-fed the practitioners three to four times a day.

Pan Huabin, a police officer from the Haitian Police Station in Zhanjiang City recently abducted Dafa practitioner Chen Zhuoyi. To advance their political fortunes, they broke into a home at No. 186 Dangkou on February 9, 2004 and tried to take Ms. Chen away. They also tried to extort money from her. Because their extortion scheme failed, they and perpetrators from the "610 Office" sent Ms. Chen Zhuoyi to the No. 2 Detention Center in Mazhang.

(1) The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
