News and Activities Around the World

Falun Gong practitioners in Taipei held a 9-day winter camp for junior Falun Gong practitioners from January 26 to February 4. The activities included telling stories, teaching short English sentences for introducing Falun Dafa, visiting the Palace Museum and clarifying the truth. The young practitioners' favorite activity was to recite Master's poems. At the tourist sites, while clarifying the truth, their efforts received a warm response.

Facts of the Persecution

1) At present, Falun Gong practitioners Zheng Huiwang and Yang Jianbo from Langfang City, Hebei Province are on hunger strike at Kaiping Labor Camp 1^st Team in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. The hunger strike is to protest their illegal detention. Zheng Huiwang has been on hunger strike for over 2 months and is now in critical condition.

2) When Falun Gong practitioner Lu Fengling was on a hunger strike before the Spring Festival in Taihang Prison, Hebei Province, she was locked up alone in an "Interview Room." She was forced to stand for long hours, cursed, beaten, insulted, and was not allowed to sleep for four days and four nights. Her four limbs were tied to a floorboard so that she could not move and she was administered 5 bottles of an unknown fluid intravenously. This torture lasted 40 hours. Currently she is under supervision 24 hours-a-day.

3) He Meifang from Xiaohengshan Mine in Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province once went to Beijing to peacefully appeal and clarify the facts about Falun Gong to the government. Later, in the spring of 2001, He Meifang was taken away from her home. The police of Xiaohengshan Mine sent her to Wanjia Labor Camp in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. In the spring of 2003, He Meifang was arrested by the police from the Public Security Bureau at Hengshan District, Jixi City, and was sent to Hengshan Public Security Bureau and illegally interrogated. She was later sent to Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center where she has been detained until now.

4) My name is Xie Wena. I am a Falun Gong practitioner from Zhaozhou County, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. I am 50 years old. In October 1997 I was fortunate to obtain Dafa. A short while after, I recovered from the diabetes that I had suffered for 10 years. Since July 20, 1999, I went to appeal for Falun Gong two times and was illegally arrested. I was beaten and had bruises all over my body. When I was released, I weighed only 95 pounds.

Evil Men and Their Evil Deeds

Zhong Xiaohua, the new vice Party Secretary of the Department of Administration and Law of De'an County, Jiangxi Province, as well as Bai Zhong, and Chen Mo, the heads of the "610 Office," persecute Falun Gong practitioners without restraint. On October 15, 2003, Falun Gong practitioner Fan Huoxiang was arrested by over 20 police when she was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. On December 1, 2003, Zhong Xiaohua, Bai Zhong, and Chen Mo sentenced Fan Huoxiang to 3 years of forced labor and sent her to Majialong Forced Labor Camp in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. Fan Huoxiang was brutally beaten at the labor camp. Her whole body became swollen from the torture.
