Facts of Persecution

1) Dafa practitioner Yao Yanhui was kidnapped in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province on January 19, 2004 by Shijiazhuang's Xinhua public security sub-bureau. Also abducted was Yu Jingxia, another Dafa practitioner from Shijiazhuang. Mr. Yao went on hunger strike nonstop to protest the kidnapping and the torture by the police. Subsequently, Mr. Yao was sent to Huludao City, Liaoning Province, his registered residence. Currently he is illegally imprisoned in the Huludao reformatory. It has already been more than 30 days since he was kidnapped, and he has been on hunger strike all this time.

2) On February 17, 2004, Dafa practitioner Liu Yuzhi from the development district west seaport, Jinzhou city, was arrested from her home by the police from Tianqiao police station. By February 25, she had been on hunger strike in protest for nine days. Currently she is very weak and cannot stand or sit up. Because her family members tried to stop the unlawful arrest, her family of three was also kidnapped.

3) Dafa practitioner Mr. Feng Guangyun, 69 years old, is a retired staff member from the Qiqihar railroad sub-bureau. On July 21, 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal, and he was kidnapped in the train station and imprisoned. Then he was detained for 15 days for collecting signatures to appeal. On October 10, 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal. He was kidnapped, sent to Qiqihar railroad sub-bureau detention center and detained for 46 days. On November 20, 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal again and was detained for 2 days. After he went home, Qiqihar railroad bureau deducted more than 2,000 Yuan from his wages [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China]. On December 25, 2000, he went to Tiananmen the third time. He was kidnapped and put into a police vehicle and fiercely beaten before he was released. In May 2002, he was kidnapped from his home by the police and sent to Qiqihar railroad sub-bureau detention center. Later on, he was sentenced to Daqing labor camp for two years. He was beaten, verbally abused and tortured all day long. The police directed jailed criminals to take off all of his clothes and douse him with cold water. The criminal Li Jing wiped sputum on Mr. Feng's mouth with the tip of his toe and also wiped his slipper on Mr. Feng's mouth after dipping it in urine. The criminals Dong Rujiang and Li Jingping blew cigarette smoke in his face, which made him cough incessantly. Because he did not give in to their demands to give up Falun Gong, he was only allowed to sleep 2 hours each day. During the day, he had to do hard labor and run constantly. The persecution raised his blood pressure to 190. The deputy chief Wang Yingzhou then forced him to take some unknown drugs. Using two screwdrivers to pry open his mouth, the prison doctor Tian then poured the powder into his mouth. His blood pressure increased to 220 afterwards.

4) The persecution of practitioners in the first and the second divisions of Hebei Electric Construction Company, Shijiazhuang city:

After Wang Wanli gave up Falun Gong, she had a recurrence of an old illness, and died just before the Spring Festival of 2000.

The spouse of Hao Changling, a staff member at the second division, had a recurrence of cancer after the company disallowed her to practice since July 20. She is currently critically ill.

Dong Shiwu, nearly 70 years old, returned to his hometown, Beijing, at the beginning of December 2000. He was held at the detention center in Beijing for over ten days. Later, he was sent to Dongdajie police station and thrown in an iron cage. He was detained for three days. Then he was sent to Shijiazhuang city detention center and imprisoned for 15 days. In July 2002, he was kidnapped and sent to the Hebei provincial brainwashing center.

Li Guoying, approximately 60 years old, went to Beijing in the winter of 2002 to appeal for Falun Gong. She was sent to the Beijing detention center, viciously beaten and doused with cold water until she fainted. She was released after she was resuscitated.

Because Ms. Hua Fengxiang firmly persisted in the practice of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, she was arrested many times and imprisoned. Later on, she was forced to become homeless to avoid further persecution. On September 2, 2002, she was kidnapped and imprisoned for two months. Hua went on hunger strike for 6 days and walked out of detention using righteous thoughts. Even now, the first division of the Electric Construction Company still had not returned to her the pension of more than 20,000 Yuan, which had been deducted.

5) The public security branch of Zhaogezhuang Mining, the "610 Office" and the party committee in Kailuan, Tangshan City, Hebei Province severely persecuted Dafa practitioners. They imprisoned steadfast Dafa practitioners long-term, and tried to force them to renounce their beliefs in brainwashing class. Because practitioner Bi Junqing went to Beijing to appeal in February, 2000, he was detained in Guye detention center and Hehuakeng labor camp in Tangshan. He suffered cruel torture. When the prison term was up, it was extended. His time in the brainwashing class has now reached two years and ten months. His health has deteriorated; he suffers from hypertension, blood in the urine and swelling of the face. He was sent to the hospital for resuscitation several times. On November 6, 2003, Wang Shouping and Mr. Bi escaped the hospital using righteous thoughts. Within ten minutes after they reached home, there was a call ordering them to return to the hospital. They were forced to travel about homeless to avoid arrest. Currently their whereabouts are unknown.

6) On February 13, 2004, police from the National Security Brigade, Saihan sub-bureau, Huhhot Police Station, in Inner Mongolia, suddenly broke into Dafa practitioner Yang Shulan's home. They disregarded her 96-year-old father-in-law, who was bed-ridden with paralysis, and forcibly kidnapped her to an unknown location. Currently, Ms. Yang has gone on hunger strike in protest. Today is the thirteenth day of her hunger strike.

7) Ms. Ding Limei and her mother-in-law Ms. Cao Yuping from Yan village, Beixiangyi town, Cheng'an County, Handan City, Hebei Province, went to Beijing to appeal on New Year's Eve of 2001. They were arrested there. Both of them were detained in Cheng'an County Jail. During the detention, both of them were tortured. Ms. Ding was forced to carry a big sign and parade through the streets, while Ms. Cao was forced to jog for a long time on the snow-covered ground. Both of them were also verbally abused and beaten repeatedly. After three months, when their family had 12,000 Yuan extorted from them, only then were they released on bail. In August 2002, Ms. Cao was kidnapped again and illegally sent to jail. On September 26, Ms. Ding was again kidnapped without cause by the police and imprisoned. Ms. Ding's husband went everywhere to borrow money in order to post bail. At the beginning of November, he finally was able to put together 3,500 Yuan with great difficulty. Only after he handed in the money, were they released. However, on January 2, 2004, Beixiangyi Town local police station kidnapped Ms. Ding again.

8) Mr. Yan Jingcai, an employee at the Tai'an meat products company, Shandong Province, began to practice Falun Dafa before Jiang's regime persecuted Falun Gong. After he practiced Falun Gong, he recovered from hepatitis. In July 1999, Jiang's regime started to violently persecute Falun Gong. Yan's family members were swayed by the propaganda on television and the newspaper. They put pressure on him to give up practicing Falun Gong. Under the enormous pressure, Yan was forced to hand over all Dafa books and materials and promised his father that he would no longer practice Falun Gong. In spring, 2002, Yan was diagnosed with early stage liver cancer. On January 31, 2003, he died in the hospital. He was only 47 years old.

I am 87 years old and from Dazhu County, Sichuan Province. In March 2003, I developed a swelling in my temple area. The doctor said it was a hemangioma. It was inoperable and very dangerous! In May, my elder daughter brought me a piece of paper, on which it read, "Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is a righteous Fa! Zhen Shan Ren (Truthfulness Compassion Tolerance) is the Dafa!" and asked me to read it every day. I read it whenever I could. By about August to September, the swelling began to go down. It did not bleed or discharge pus anymore. In October, it disappeared completely. I did not take or apply any medication. It completely recovered! Falun Dafa is really miraculous!
