(Clearwisom.net) In July 2002, Falun Gong practitioner Dr. Liu Shenghua, a physician at Chenxi County People's Hospital in Hunan Province, China, was reported to the authorities for reading Falun Gong books with his fellow practitioners. Dr. Liu and others were illegally arrested by Yang Wenjun and other policemen. He is being detained at Jinshi Prison in Changde City, Hunan Province. Besides being forced to perform labor on the farm, he has been locked up in a dark room by policemen. Three criminals watch him all the time and brutally beat him. Liu Shenghua is now extremely emaciated. He is too weak to stand or even talk, and he could lose his life at any moment. But Jinshi Prison still denies that they are maltreating and torturing Liu Shenghua and other Falun Gong practitioners being detained there. Thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted in Chenxi County. Nearly 30 people have been sent without trial to "labor re-education." Female Dafa practitioners are sent to Baimalong Labor Re-Education Center, and male practitioners are sent to Xinkaipu Labor Re-Education Center in Changsha City and Jinshi Prison in Changde City. Liu Liumei, a female practitioner in her 30's, was tortured severely and now suffers from a mental disorder.
