Facts of the Persecution

Crimes against Practitioners in the Jiujiang City Area, Jiangxi Province

The Majialong Labor Camp is a pernicious den operated by Jiang and his regime to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. Many practitioners have gone through cruel tortures in this place. Mr. Mao Rulun is a practitioner in his sixties. He was tortured by being hung above the floor by handcuffs for three entire days, with only the tips of his toes touching the floor. He was injured severely, both mentally and physically, and died due to the torture. Mr. Zhou Zuofu is a practitioner from Changrui City and was sentenced to two years in the labor camp. He was handcuffed everyday and sometimes had his mouth duct taped shut. Although he is released and home now, both of his hands are deformed, his mind is hazy, and he is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Ms. Jiang Xiaoying, a practitioner from Jiujiang City, became mentally ill, cannot talk, and is still being detained in the labor camp.

Falun Dafa Practitioners Zhang Xichuan, Xie Heng, and others are Persecuted in Shanghai

Two major Falun Dafa materials centers were destroyed within one month. On September 6, 7 and 12, 2003, practitioners Mr.Zhang Xichuan, Mr. Zhao Yang, and Mr. Xie Heng were separately arrested. Soon after, Ms. Xia Haizhen, Mr. Fan Yanming, Mr. Liu Jieyun, and others were arrested. One week later, practitioners at another materials center, Mr. Ji Ping, Mr. Huang Dingyi, Mr. Zhu Xueshi, Mr. Jiang Bin, and others were arrested. In February 2004, the Jiading District People's Court in Shanghai City held a secret trial for Zhang Xichuan, Xie Heng, and Zhao Yang. Three lawyers were assigned to "defend" them according to pre-planned procedures. Mr. Zhang Xichuan was sentenced to six years in prison, Mr. Xie Heng was sentenced to four and one half years in prison, and Mr. Zhao Yang was sentenced to three and one half years in prison. Their appeals were rejected. Mr. Zhang Xichuan has been on a hunger strike ever since. All three practitioners proclaimed that they did not want assigned lawyers, that cultivating Falun Dafa is legal, and that they be released. Practitioner Ji Ping was arrested in his home in the Zhabei District around September 20, 2003. He was sentenced to three years in the Shanghai Third Labor Camp (also called the Qingdong Labor Camp) in October. In the past year, Mr. Ji Ping's family received only one letter from him early in 2004.

Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zheng Zhihong in Prison

Mr. Zheng Zhihong, in his forties, is an employee of the Huanggang City Salt Company in Hubei Province. He was deprived of the right to work and jailed because he practiced Falun Dafa. In March 2004, Mr. Zheng Zhihong read a eulogy at his father's funeral. Mr. Zheng's father Zheng Zhong was about seventy years old when he died and had won many merit awards during his lifetime. He started cultivating Falun Gong after he had a stroke, and the symptoms totally disappeared. In 2001, he had to become destitute and homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home. He fell down while changing a light bulb and died after being hospitalized for nine days. His former employer decided to hold a memorial service for him, due to his good work, and invited Zheng Zhihong, Zheng Zhong's eldest son, to give a speech representing his family. Because there were more than two hundred Falun Dafa practitioners attending the service, it was defined by the State Security Police as an "illegal gathering." The 610 Office marked this day as the "3-11" (March 11) major incident, and started arresting practitioner two days later. Zheng Zhong's employer was also considered culpable. Mr. Zheng Zhihong was arrested on May 20, 2004, and is still in detention. Police are trying to bring him to trial. Zheng Zhihong used to have a stomach disease, gallbladder disease, severe hepatitis, etc., but these conditions were all cured after cultivating Falun Dafa. He went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong in 1999. Because of this, his employer, the Huanggang City Salt Company, reduced his monthly salary from more than 1,000 to 400 yuan. He was detained fifteen days in 2001, and his employer further reduced his salary to 200 yuan and removed his desk and chair at work. Because the cost of commuting to work exceeded his 200-yuan salary, he could no longer work. His wife was severely pressured by his employer and the 610 Office and divorced him.
