(Clearwisdom.net) Chinese scholars, students and Falun Gong practitioners in Germany are working together with German sinologists and the Chinese media in Europe to provide in-depth discussions on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the contemporary Chinese culture and society it has established. The following is a report on this activity by RFA correspondent Tian-Yi.
Since Jiang Zemin dropped out from China's political center stage and Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao took over as leaders of the Party and the government, China's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and dissidents has not lessened. Therefore, in conjunction with a series of essays on "Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party" published in The Epoch Times, Chinese scholars, students in Germany and some Chinese media outlets in Europe started an in-depth discussion regarding contemporary Chinese society and the issues of its spiritual culture. Chinese scholar Ms. Zheng Zhihong from Zhejiang University, began practicing Falun Gong in 1997. The correspondent invited her to share her opinions.
Regarding the contradiction between Falun Gong and the CCP, social culture and spirit, Ms. Zheng Zhihong stated that the persecution has not come to an end following Jiang Zemin's stepping down from his position, thus we can see the CCP is also intolerant of the belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." That is to say, in this persecution, the CCP chose Jiang Zemin as its representative, and Jiang Zemin manipulated the CCP's tyrannical machinery, to carry out the persecution campaign.
Ms. Zheng continued that Falun Gong teaches Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance, while the Communist Party advocates "falseness, evil and violence," so they oppose each other fundamentally. The second point is that, faith makes one fearless, while the CCP replies on terror to sustain its political power. Since seizing the political power, the CCP has launched various campaigns to sustain its ruling position.
She said that the CCP is intolerant of Falun Gong's high moral standards. Since Falun Gong was introduced to the public, most Falun Gong practitioners have sincerely followed the principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance."
Ms. Zheng also said that Falun Gong has a loose form of organization in which one can practice or not at one's own free will. This forms a stark contrast with the CCP's strict organization in the form of factions. She said the most important is that Falun Gong practitioners believe that there are things higher than human beings, and they cannot believe that the Communist Party represents everything. As for these social, cultural and spiritual issues, Falun Gong practitioners in Germany are coordinating with some renowned scholars, sinologists and other groups to prepare to hold a series of symposiums. She said, regardless of whether people agree with Falun Gong practitioners' opinions or not, at least these issues are very worthwhile to be discussed.
