In Sichuan Province, Chongzhou City Court Imposes Heavy Sentences on Three Falun Dafa Practitioners
On November 30, 2004, in a small courtroom, 28-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Zhu Weibing was sentenced to 9 years in prison. Mr. Zhu refused to sign court documents and kept calling out, "Falun Dafa is good!" and "Restore the good name of my Teacher!" Court staff covered his mouth, pulled him down to the floor, and proceeded to kick and punch him. Mr. Zhu's parents protested, saying, "Our son is innocent." The presiding judge, two other judges and the court clerk all refused to sign the judgment. To end the proceeding, the presiding judge announced in a feeble voice, "Nine years," and the court was then adjourned.
Earlier that morning, around 8:00 a.m., about 50-60 practitioners had gone to the courthouse to support Zhu Weibing by sending forth righteous thoughts. About 20 police officers were on hand.
The next day, December 1, 2004, at 10:30 a.m., practitioner Ms. Tian Xiuyun was sentenced to 4 years in prison. Forty-year-old Ms. Tian responded to the sentence saying, "I have been wrongly accused. What you are doing is illegal." Ms. Tian's sister also announced to the court, "I will seek justice for my sister. I will take legal steps against the crimes committed by this court." She continued to proclaim, "Falun Dafa is good." Many Falun Dafa practitioners were in the court to show their support.
On December 3, 2004, shortly after 10:00 a.m., 32-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Liu
Yong was sentenced to 6 years in prison. About 40-50 Falun Dafa practitioners were present in the court to support him. Feeling encouraged by this support, he refused to sign the sentence, and he shouted, "Falun Dafa is good."

Appeal Letter Written by the Mother of Practitioner Zhu Weibing
Chief Justice of the Court, Judges, Lawyers, Ladies and Gentlemen:
My name is Mou Junhua. I am the 53-year-old mother of Zhu Weibing. I live in No. 4 Group, Huangyi Village, Chongyang Town, Chongzhou City. Today, I would like to appeal to the People's Court, the Police Department, and the Procuratorate to reverse the wrongful and illegal sentence my son was given.
My son was born on March 15, 1977. He was a very sickly child with liver problems, gall stones, skin disease, and various other ailments. He also had a mysterious bump on his head. The doctors said that he could not be operated on. My son had headaches and poor vision. In search of a cure for him, we used up all of our savings, but to no avail.
In 1996, he started practicing Falun Dafa and his illnesses disappeared. He also became a very fine man. He is a good son who works hard and he is virtuous in his actions.
Because he had himself benefited from Falun Dafa, he went to Beijing to appeal for an end to the persecution. For this action he was sent to a forced labor camp for one year.
On May 17, 2004, my son was abducted from his home, illegally jailed, persecuted and then sentenced to prison. No one who knows my son, a good man who practices Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, believes he is guilty of doing anything wrong. What is wrong with his telling people about the truth about Falun Dafa? Our constitution protects our rights to freedom of belief and freedom of speech. Isn't it wrong for a police department to abduct my son and sentence him to 9 years in prison? You are punishing good and innocent people.
I earnestly entreat those of you with a conscience to use your influence to obtain the release of my son from this terrible situation.

My sister Ms. Tian Xiuyun was illegally sentenced to prison for practicing Falun Gong.
I am appealing on her behalf to restore her good name. She is innocent. She is a good person who practices Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.
1. My sister's background information:
My sister was born on December 8, 1964 (1). She is from No. 6 Group, No. 2 Brigade,
Xingwang Township, Fenshui Town, Suining City. She now lives in No. 5 Group, No. 3 Brigade, Jinji Township, Chongzhou City.
2. My sister's history of practicing Falun Gong
My sister got married when she was barely 14. She had many illnesses. She was often dizzy and unable to see properly. She had many kinds of gynecological ailments, and depended on medications to keep her alive. At many points, she felt more like dying than continuing on with such misery. She had visited large hospitals, but no doctor could cure her.
In 1998, she discovered Falun Dafa. After four days of practicing, all of her illnesses disappeared. No words could express her gratitude to Falun Dafa. My sister hoped that all people could benefit from this practice as she had done. She wanted to say enthusiastically to everyone, "Falun Dafa is good." On December 29, 2000, she went to Beijing hoping the government could come to understand the truth of Falun Gong. But as a result of going there, she was illegally sent to a forced labor camp, and then jailed. After being tortured in Nanmusi Town, Zizhong City for one year by being jailed and brainwashed, she emerged nothing but skin and bones. All of her old illnesses returned. She decided to go back to practicing Falun Gong, and all her illnesses went away once again. On May 20, 2004, my sister was illegally abducted to a detention center, and later moved to another detention center, where she was tortured both physically and mentally .
3. My sister is innocent and should be released.
Our constitution stipulates that citizens have the rights to free speech, to hold beliefs and to publish what they write. There are also provisions that citizen's private possessions are not to be violated. My sister is innocent. She is someone who practices Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, and always put others before herself. This treatment is unfair, and goes against the laws of heaven.
My sister is innocent. I demand her release.

80-year-old Father's Appeal to Chongzhou City Court On Behalf of Son
Chief Justice, Judges and Lawyers:
My name is Liu Shunping. I was born on May 11, 1916. I live in No. 5 Group, Wayao Village, Chongyang Town. I am appealing on behalf of my son Liu Yong to the law-enforcement authorities, including the People's Court, the Procuratorate and the Police Department. My son is innocent. He has never broken a single law.
My son was a very sickly child. He learned to walk only after the age of five. He had liver trouble, bronchitis and chronic high fevers. He suffered for twenty years. His mother and I were exhausted from caring for him. He was totally dependant on us for support, and he even lost the will to live.
In 1998, my son learned Falun Dafa. He recovered from all his illnesses shortly after starting this cultivation practice. He no longer needed to worry about having enough money for medical treatments.
Since he became healthy, he was also much happier. Falun Dafa saved my son and I needed not worry about him the way I used to. On May 17, 2004, he was taken from our
home, illegally jailed, tortured and then sentenced to prison. Do you know that what you
are doing is persecuting very good people? These people adhere to Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance in how they live their lives.
Liu Yong cares about other people and has worked hard since starting this practice.
He has never broken any laws. Our constitution stipulates that citizens have freedom of belief and the right to free speech. Citizens have rights and freedoms that cannot be violated. My son is a good man and he is innocent. It is illegal to sentence him for this.
My son tells the truth to the world. All he wanted was to let everybody know that Falun Dafa is good so that people won't believe the lies that Jiang Zemin has told. Good will be met with good, and evil with evil. You judges should make certain that justice is served, protect these kind-hearted people and correct your mistakes.
I would like to appeal to all judges who have consciences. My son is innocent. I implore you to release him.
