Facts of the Persecution

1. Falun Dafa Practitioner Xiao Xiaowen Loses Her Home During the Persecution

Ms. Xiao Xiaowen is a Yangcun Fourth Middle School teacher located in Wuqing District, Tianjin City. During the persecution, she lost her job, her family, and has become destitute and homeless to avoid being illegally arrested in her own home. She went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa on July 5, 2000, and was escorted back to the local police station by her school Principal and Director Song (who has since been dismissed from his position) of the Nanlou Police. Policeman Li Jian used an electric baton to shock her in front of her school's principal. She was still breast feeding her baby, but she was detained at the school for six days, leaving her nine-month old infant home without milk. In November 2000, because she refused to give up her cultivation of Falun Dafa, her employer detained her together with her infant. Her baby had a high fever, so she went on a hunger strike to protest her detention and trying to get out of the detention. She was sent to the Huangzhuang Brainwashing Class held by the Wuqing District at the end of 2000. Because she was separated from her baby, her milk soaked her sweater. Principal Geng Zhaokui withheld ten months of her salary. One night at the end of October 2002, after 10 p.m., more than ten policemen from the Quanzhoulu Substation and the Nanlou Substation stormed into her house by climbing over the walls surrounding the yard, arrested her and transferred her to the Quanzhoulu Substation. Police rolled a Falun Dafa book around a stick, and then violently beat her with it. They also forced her to stand on the cement floor barefoot. She was detained for forty-five days in the Wuqing District Detention Center after three days in the substation. Her employer then fired her.

2. Exposing Crimes of State Security Policeman Wang Qishan in Xiantao City, Hubei Province

Policeman Wang Qishan works for the State Security Team, Xiantao City Station, Hubei Province. He believed in Jiang and his regime's propaganda and actively participated in the persecution of practitioners. In September 2003, he found several practitioners practicing the exercises on the Xiaong River dike. He called for more than ten police officers to arrest Mr. Liu Wenbin, Ms. Wang Dongmei, Ms. Fan Sihua, and eight or nine other practitioners. Mr. Liu Wenbin died soon after this incident. Ms. Wang Dongmei was sentenced to two years in the Shayang Labor Camp. Ms. Fan Sihua was also sentenced to two years at a labor camp.

3. Student in Jilin Province Dismissed from School, Receives 3 Years in Labor Camp Because of Appeal in Beijing

Ms. Wang Yan was born in 1982. She is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Zhazi Town, Jiangyuan County, Baishan City, Jilin Province. After July 20, 1999, she traveled to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa four times, and was expelled from the Jilin Provincial Agricultural Products Vocational School in November 1999. After the fourth time on January 1, 2000, she was sentenced to two years in the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City. The police in the Fourth Ward used an electric baton to shock her numerous times in order to force her write the Statement of Disassociation or the Guarantee Statement to give up Falun Gong. As a result, her entire body was covered with bloody blisters from the shocks. Her term was extended by one year because she would not give in. Finally she walked out of the place on December 30, 2003. To this day, the police continue to harass and threaten her at her home.
