(Clearwisdom.net) Since July 20, 1999, officers from the Guxian Police Station in Pingdu City, Shandong Province, have actively persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners. Their crimes against practitioners include illegal imprisonment, vicious beatings, confiscating personal property, stealing and confiscating all belongings in the house, illegal fines and forced labor sentences.
Over ten thousand yuan (1) was extorted from as many as 13 of the practitioners in Pingdu City; at least 20 practitioners have had several thousand yuan extorted from them. If practitioners could not afford to pay the extortion fees, they were imprisoned indefinitely and were robbed of all their household goods, including the windows and doors! Twenty practitioners were illegally imprisoned, and nine were sent for illegal forced labor.
The police, disregarding the fact that Ms. Wang Xiyu's husband was paralyzed and bedridden and had nobody but Wang Xiyu to attend to his needs, cruelly sentenced Ms. Wang to five years of imprisonment. This seriously aggravated her husband's condition and he eventually died, with bitterness in his heart. Her daughter had nobody to care for her and others humiliated and mistreated her, so she left her hometown. A contented and happy family was thus destroyed.
In May 2004, political chief Zhao Changshan led a group of police officers to break into the residence of practitioner Liu Zhenhong in Longquan City. Without a legal search warrant, they ransacked the home and confiscated his belongings. They arrested Mr. Liu and imprisoned him in the police station for two days and fined him 3,000 yuan, all in violation of the Chinese Constitution.
On September 25, the police abducted a female practitioner who was over 60 years old and a resident of Zhu Village. They attempted to extort 5,000 yuan from her. Because this practitioner was poor and unable to pay, they sent her to the Pingdu City "610 Office" to be further persecuted in their brainwashing class.
