1. [Helongjiang Province] Almost Practitioners in Jidong and Jixi Arrested

On October 23, police arrested about 40 Falun Dafa practitioners in Jidong and Jixi, Helongjiang Province. Among those arrested was Mr. Qu Dehong. Almost all the large-scale truth-clarifying material printing sites have been destroyed.

Before October 23, Qu Dehong and other practitioners drove around the county in a car. They passed out truth-clarifying materials and hung banners. The police took down the vehicle's license number and traced the driver. At the driver's home, the police confiscated many materials and arrested the driver. Afterwards, they started to arrest other practitioners.

The next day, police arrested practitioner Mr. Sun Jinkui, Mr. Zhang Yuezen and his wife in Jixi City. They are currently being detained at Jixi No. 2 Detention Center.

2. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Li Zaiming and His Wife Arrested

Around 5:00 p.m. on July 23, 2004, police arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Zaiming at his home. His wife was arrested at the same time at another location. There has been no information available about them for the past three months, as their family members are not allowed to visit them. Their five-year-old son is living with his grandmother. Life is difficult for them.

3. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Persecuted at the Xuanwu District Brainwashing Center

In June 2004, the "610 Office" held a brainwashing session for Falun Dafa practitioners who are known to have continued practicing Falun Dafa at Xuanwu District, Nanjing City. During the session, practitioners were not allowed to sleep as long as they refused to write the "Three Statements," renouncing their belief in Falun Gong. Some of them were kept awake for incredibly long periods, ranging from forty days to as long as seventy days. Because of the psychological torture, practitioners have become emaciated to the point that by the end of the brainwashing session their bodies are only skin and bones.

4. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Yuan Xiaodong Sentenced to 8 Years in Prison

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yuan Xiaodong was an employee at the Erchong Factory in Deyang City. In order to avoid persecution, he had to stay away from home for fear of being arrested. After July 20, 1999, when the persecution of Falun Dafa began, the Jingdong Division of Deyang Police Department listed Yuan as one of the most wanted. At year's end in 2000, the police posted a 40,000 yuan reward on the Internet for information leading to Yuan's arrest.

On June 2001, Yuan was sentenced to 8 years in Deyang Prison. According to information, the Jingdong Division of the police department paid close to 70,000 yuan in rewards after Yuan's arrest. Multiple individuals and businesses were rewarded for reporting Yuan.

5. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Maoyu and His Wife Yao Shuzhen Arrested

For the last three years Longkou Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Xu Maoyu and Ms. Yao Shuzhen have been forced to move from one place to another to avoid persecution. At around 6:00 p.m. on October 22, 2004, Mr. Xu was arrested in the hallway of their rented apartment after returning home from work. Six police officers broke into their apartment, ransacked and searched the place, but failed to find anything. The police also arrested Ms. Yao Shuzhen.

People involved in the arrest included Yan Jiayun and Wang Qi, etc.

6. [Zhangjiachuan County, Gansu Province] Zhang Run is Detained Beyond His Prison Term - Police Attempt to Extend His Term by 7 Years

Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang Run from Zhangjiachuan County, Gansu Province has being detained beyond his prison term for 7 months (April 1 to November 5). Another practitioner, Hei Huiyu from Tianshui City, has been detained for 85 days (August 10 to November 5).

Zhang Run was arrested on August 19. In the past two months, the police have been extorting confessions through torture and collecting evidence with the use of deception. They are attempting to sentence Zhang to 7 years in prison. The provincial government is keeping a close eye on this case, for Zhangjiachuan County is where the Hu people, who are ethnic minorities, are concentrated, and they have close ties with Hu people around China. The stability of ethnic minorities are a top priority in the province.

7. [Beijing] Tan Huan Was Arrested, Condition Unknown

Falun Dafa practitioner Tan Huan was arrest by the National Security Team of the Xicheng District Police Department about 2 or 3 months ago. After severe interrogation, Tan is being detained at the No. 2 Detention Center. This practitioner's current condition is unknown.

8. [Jurong City, Jiangsu Province] Zhang Xiuhong Arrested For Distributing Truth-clarifying Materials

Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang Xiuhong was arrested on November 1, 2004 while distributing truth-clarifying materials. The National Security Bureau is looking into the source of the materials.

9. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Meng Xiangchun Was Sentenced to Two and A Half Years in Prison For Telling the Truth About Falun Gong

Ms. Meng Xiangchun is 63 years old, and lives in Beiningli, Jilin City.

On September 15, 2004, Ms. Meng took a bus to visit her brother's home in Hewazi, Chaoyang County. While she was riding the bus, another person brought up the subject of Falun Gong, and Ms. Meng said a few things to clarify the truth. As she was getting off the bus, the driver asked her when she would be returning home, and she told him she would return the next day.

The driver reported her to the police. The next day, police from the Huinan County Police Department waited at the bus station and arrested Ms. Meng. She was taken to the police station and interrogated. The police threatened her, pressing for answers, and shocked her with electric batons. They found some truth-clarifying materials on her, so they framed her, saying that she was distributing the materials in residential areas. Ms. Meng resisted the persecution and did not reveal the source of the materials.

Meng was sentenced to two and a half years in prison. The police rewarded the bus driver with 5,000 yuan.

10. [Harbin City, Helongjiang Province] Wang Mi Exhibits Mental Problems after Being Hit on the Head With an Iron Bar at Harbin Prison

Falun Dafa practitioner Wang Mi is currently detained at Daqing Prison. He was put into solitary confinement because he ran to the gate in violation of prison regulations.

Wang Mi was transferred from Harbin Prison to Daqing Prison. He exhibits the symptoms of a mental disorder. The prison official claims that he has a mental disorder. According to available information, Wang was hit on the head with an iron bar while he was at Harbin Prison, and he lost consciousness from the beating. Since then he has exhibited these symptoms.

11. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Liu Zihui Is Arrested

Ms. Liu Zihui is single, and in her 30s. She is self-employed, and opened a hair salon called Yingzi Barber Shop.

On October 13, 2004, police from Beiji Police Station of Chuanyin District arrested Liu. The police also arrested an employee of the barber shop. The police tried to force Liu to write a Guarantee Statement, but Liu sternly refused. She also told the police the truth about Falun Gong. Later, Liu was sent to Jilin No. 3 Detention Center, where she also told people the truth about Falun Gong.

12. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Chen Linzhi Arrested For Telling the Truth about Falun Gong on the Street

On October 30, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioner Chen Linzhi was telling people the truth about the Falun Gong in the streets of Xian'an District, Xianning City in Damu County. People reported her and she was arrested. She is being detained at Xian'an Maoershan Detention Center. Chen is currently on a hunger strike in protest of the illegal arrest.

13. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Yan Zhihua, Li Haiming and Li Xiuqin Arrested For Telling the Truth about Falun Gong

On August 20, Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Yan Zhihua, Mr. Li Haiming, and Ms. Li Xiuqin from Lingyuan City went to the town of Wuhua in Ninchen County to tell people the truth about Falun Gong. A county official reported them to police. They were arrested and sent to Ninchen Detention Center. No family visits are allowed. The case was sent to the procuratorate office approximately one month ago.

14. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Yang Shengli Arrested For Distributing Software That Breaks Through the Internet Blockade

In the middle of September 2004, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yang Shengli was arrested while distributing CDs at Hebei Agriculture University which contained software designed to break through the Internet blockade. Mr. Yang downloaded the software himself. It is said that police are trying to send him to a forced labor camp.

15. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Villains from Xiheyin Township, Wei County Beat and Extort Money from Falun Dafa Practitioners

The villain Wang Sui is the secretary of Xihe Village, Xiheyin Township, Wei County, Zhangjiakou City of Heibei Province. Around 7:00 p.m. on the evening of November 4, 2004, Wang Sui went to the home of Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhao Xiulan. He threatened her, and called the director of the Xiheyin Township "610 Office," Li Xinsheng, to arrest Ms. Zhao and another practitioner, Ms. Wang Fengmei, who happened be visiting her at the time. They also ransacked their homes.

That night, officers from the township government, lead by Zhao Jinlong, viciously beat the two practitioners for several hours. On November 5, they released Ms. Wang Fengmei after her family paid them extortion money in the sum of 2,000 yuan. The villains claim that Ms. Zhao will only be released if her family pays them 5,000 yuan, otherwise they will send her to the county for further persecution.

16. [Xi'an City, Shanxi Province] Chen Xiurong Arrested for Telling the Truth about Falun Gong to a Motorized Tricycle Driver

Ms. Chen Xiurong is around 60 years old. On May 14, 2003, on her way home, she explained the truth about Falun Gong to the driver of a motorized tricycle. Later, the driver took police from Xinxing Police Station to Ms. Chen's home. The police arrested Chen. Ms. Chen is being detained at Yanlian District Detention Center. Chen's husband is old and ill, and depends on her for his care.

17. [Qi County, Henan Province] Zhang Xingong Arrested for Distributing Truth-clarifying Materials

Zhang Xingong is from the town of Xizhai, Qi County, Henan Province. On October 25, 2004, he went out to distribute Falun Dafa material. When he passed Huangqiao Village, he was reported to police. Later, police from Xizhai town police station arrested him. He is currently detained at Qi County Detention Center under administrative detention.

18. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Yang Xiaojie Arrested and Sent to Kaiping Forced Labor Camp for Telling the Truth about Falun Dafa

Ms. Yang Xiaojie is from Xizhao Village, Shenze Township, Shenze County, Hebei Province. On the morning of August 7, 2004, she was telling the truth about Falun Dafa on Shiyou Street in Shenze County. Police from Zexi Police Station, Xinbei Division of Jinzhong Police Department, Hebei Province arrested her and took her directly to Renqiu Detention Center. Practitioners from Shenze County clarified the truth to the police at Zexi Police Station through truth-clarifying materials, VCDs, and letters, etc. But police nonetheless sent Ms. Yang to Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City.

Ms. Yang's father-in-law passed away from the grief caused by her arrest. Yang's family requested her release, but were refused.

19. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Lei Anxiang Arrested for Posting "Falun Dafa is Good" Flyers

Around 5:00 p.m. on October 24, 2004, Lei Anxiang was arresting while posting "Falun Dafa is Good" flyers on Chigang Street of Haizhu District of Guangzhou City. His whereabouts are currently unknown.

During the arrest, Lei Anxiang shouted, "Falun Dafa is good." The police beat Lei in front of bystanders. Many people became angry upon seeing the policemen's behavior. They shouted at the police, "Do not hit that person!"

20. [Jilin Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Brutally Tortured at Jilin Prison

Authorities at Jilin Prison have set up "special disciplinary units" where Falun Dafa practitioners are ruthlessly mistreated.

Diao Shujun from prison section 7 was burned with boiling water on his stomach, as was Wang Fengcai, from section 6.

Another practitioner from section 9 had his front teeth knocked out because he was found copying Falun Dafa articles.

Practitioner Zhang Wen from section 2 was tied to a stretching bed for a prolonged period of time, causing injury to his ankles. Although he is barely able to walk as a result of these injuries, he is still forced to work.

Shi Wenzhuo was tied to a bed by his four outstretched limbs. Then a pillow was put underneath his back so that his limbs were suspended in the air. The jailer then slapped him continuously in the face and told him to curse Falun Gong and Teacher Li.

Li Ming's three month term is up, but he is still being tortured at the special unit. He is having difficulties walking, cannot go up stairs, and he can be pushed over with the slightest touch.

Zheng Gang from section 1 is still at the special unit. He has been put on the stretch bed many times. The jail guards are torturing him in order to make him identify the source of Falun Dafa articles.

21. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Xiao Jihong Arrested

Ms. Xiao Jihong, 54, started practicing Falun Dafa at the end of 1997. At around 10:00 a.m. on November 4, 2004, over a dozen police arrested her at her workplace. Another group of police went back to her workplace that afternoon and searched it. According to insider information, Xiao showed a Falun Gong VCD to relatives. Her father-in-law, Huang Weizheng, turned the VCD over to the police. Xiao's current whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. Huang Weizheng is in his 80s. He was the director of Huangshi City Police Department in 1966.

22. [Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province] Zhang Dexiu and Wang Ruixian Arrested for Posting Flyers

On the evening of September 17, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Zhang Dexiu and Ms. Wang Ruixian were arrested while posting Falun Dafa flyers. They are currently being detained at the No. 37 Detention Center.

23. [Shanghai] Huang Qiaolan Could Not Endure the Harassment and Died as a Result of Persecution

Ms. Huang Qiaolan, 58, was born in 1946. She lived in Baoshan District of Shanghai City. In 2001, she was distributing truth-clarifying materials and was discovered by a security guard in a residential area. She was arrested and sentenced to three years in prison. Her family paid 50,000 yuan to get her out of prison. After she returned home, the local "610 Office" had people from the police station and neighborhood administration office constantly harassing her. They visited her at home, called her with threats, and forced her to write statements renouncing Falun Dafa. Ms. Huang suffered extreme stress, was diagnosed with cancer, and died on October 28, 2004.

24. [Jilin Province] Brutalities of Prison Police at the Hezuizi Prison for Women

At Jilin's Hezuizi Prison for Women, Falun Dafa practitioners are being brainwashed by ex-practitioners who have given up the practice due to brainwashing and torture. If a practitioner refuses to renounce Falun Dafa, she is not allowed to sleep for prolonged periods of time. Yang Shumin is one of many practitioners who have been tortured in this way.

On March 7, 2002, police officers from Santiao Police Station, lead by Guo Jiancheng, secretly arrested Ms. Yang Shumin. For a long time after her arrest, her family did not known her whereabouts. The police tortured her using various methods. They tied her hands behind her back and then tied her feet together with rope. Then they tightened the rope so that the rope cut into her flesh and left two deep cuts on her shoulders and arms. The scars are still clearly visible today, among many other scars left from the beatings she has suffered. Ms. Yang was sentenced to 13 years in prison, but she refuses to follow the unjustified orders and demands of the police. She told the police that she is innocent and that the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners is against the law. Because Yang refuses to renounce her belief, she has not been allowed to sleep for a long time.
