1. [Tangshan, Hebei Province] Fengnan District "610 Office" Personnel Burn Falun Gong Persecution Crime Evidence

Around 3 p.m. on April 27, 2004, three staff members of the Fengnan District Government "610 Office" in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, drove to the Western Xinhua Morning Market in the Fengnan District and stopped about five meters from the railway tracks. Three of them started to burn evidence of the criminal persecution of Falun Gong. Practitioners discovered it and were able to save remaining documents.

2. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Tan Yanjun was Paralyzed from Torture and in a Coma for Nine Days

Mr. Tan Yanjun began to practice Falun Gong in 1996. On July 21, 1999, policeman Zhang Ping from the Xinnan Local Police Station and Worker and Peasant Public Security Substation in Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province, arrested him. That same night his home was ransacked. He was held for several months in a detention center. On the night of March 1, 2000, he was again taken to the local police station by officer Zhang Ping and then held in the No. 1 Detention Center. During his seven months in the detention center, Tan Yanjun suffered all sorts of physical punishment and torture. He became paralyzed and was in a coma for nine days. His blood pressure and pulse were not discernible. Only then did the public security bureau release him, but not before extorting 2,000 yuan from him.

At 7 a.m. on January 9, 2002, policemen Zhang Jun and Liu Bing from Xinnan Local Police Station and Worker and Peasant Public Security Substation arrested Tan Yanjun again. They searched his home, confiscated 1,800 yuan in cash and a bankbook accounting for 200 yuan. Worker and Peasant Public Security Substation Director General Li Shujiang tortured Tan until he was paralyzed. He no longer is able to take care of himself. They detained him at the No. 1 Detention Center. On April 18, Zhang Zhipeng from the Xinnan Local Police Station brought Tan's two young children to the detention center and tried to intimidate him. The children saw that their father's face was swollen, distorted, and full of bruises and blisters. He could not sit properly and had lost his hearing. Since June 2003, Tan Yanjun has been taken to several different forced labor camps, but each one has rejected him. His family members requested his release on medical emergency, but the public security officers refused. Tan Yanjun is now paralyzed and suffers from serious heart disease and a perforated eardrum. Yet, he is still being held in the detention center.

3. [Jilin Province] Liang Zhenxing is Locked Up in a Small Cell, His Situation is Critical

Mr. Liang Zhenxing, who participated in the diverting the local TV signal, is a resident of Changchun City, Jilin Province. He is now detained in Jilin Jail. In July 2004, because he did not cooperate with the "transformation assistance team," he was locked up in a small cell for one and a half months. Because he was injured, his family members were not allowed to visit him. Since August 2004, he has been tortured, and his situation is critical.

4. [Jidong County, Heilongjiang Province] Fu Hongjie and Wang Chunfang are Arrested

On the morning of October 22, 2004, Ms. Fu Hongjie, in her fifties and a retired teacher from Donghai Town in Jidong County, and Ms. Wang Chunfang from the No. 2 Team in Yongyuan Village were clarifying the truth at 8510 Farm Field Market, a development village. Lu Weibin, a policeman from the 8510 Farm Field Public Security Bureau, Farm Field "610 Office" personnel, and another policeman surnamed Sun arrested the two practitioners. They were detained at the Jidong County Detention Center.

5. [Bozhou City, Anhui Province] Several Practitioners Are Arrested

After 10 p.m. on October 11, 2004, Bozhou City public security officers arrested Wu Yunrui, Zhang Junru, Xu Cuihua, Dong Hong and others, while they were eating in a restaurant in Bozhou City. At 3 p.m. on October 11, 2004, Mr. Wu Zhihua was deceived into coming to the Songbiandian Homeland Senior Cadre Center by Wuhu Road Local Police and the community office. Because he refused to write the Guarantee Statement, he was taken to a brainwashing class.

6. [Sichuan Province] Torture Methods the Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp Uses on Practitioners

Yang, a director from Xinhua Forced Labor Camp, was recently transferred to Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp. Since Yang's arrival, the camp's 7^th and 8^th Squadrons, which hold mainly practitioners, have put into effect practitioner forced labor. Practitioners are forced to work over 17 hours daily. The elderly practitioners pull hair out of pigskins while the others make crocheted flowers. The forced labor camp sets quotas that are impossible to meet. The detained practitioners are forced to get up at 5:20 a.m., begin immediately, and work until midnight. Most practitioners are prevented from taking a rest at noon. It is extremely difficult to live under such conditions.

Higher-level officials no longer allocate funds for the persecution of Falun Gong. Therefore, the forced labor camp guards brutally force practitioners to earn revenue for the labor camp. Otherwise the guards will not get their wages.

7. [Shanghai City] A Female Falun Gong Practitioner and Former Police Officer Is Locked Up in Solitary Confinement in Shanghai Women's Prison

In early September 2004, policemen of Taichang City, Jiangsu Province, arrested Wang Jian and three other Falun Gong practitioners. Wang Jian sent forth righteous thoughts and escaped. Wang Jian is now destitute in order to avoid unlawful arrest. She is continuing with her truth-clarification.

A police officer with a conscience from the Shanghai Women Prison told other Dafa practitioners in the prison a closely held secret. A practitioner has been held in a three-meter-square cell for a long time. No one is allowed to see her. According to released practitioners, the police have isolated her for so long for two reasons: 1) She will not renounce Falun Dafa and 2) She was a police officer.

8. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Du Fengqin, Liu Wenxin and Peng Xiulian are Arrested for Hanging Banners

Around 9 p.m. on September 18, 2004, practitioners Ms. Du Fengqin, Ms. Liu Wenxin and Ms. Peng Xiulian from Qinglong Field, a northern suburb of Chengdu City, were hanging banners on the Sanhuan Road Bailian Viaduct. They were reported and arrested by the police.

On the second day, many officers from Qinglong Police Station searched their homes. Du Fengqin's Falun Dafa books, materials, audio and videotapes, new computer and printer were confiscated. Du Fengqin and Liu Wenxin are being held at Pi County Detention Center.

9. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Liu Yueqing and Zhu Shuling, a Couple, are Held in Xinjin Brainwashing Center

About 8 a.m. on September 14, 2004, several dozen people from Dongjiabei Village in Wenjia Township, Qingyang Distict, Chengdu City, drove more than ten hired taxis to the home of practitioners Liu Yueqing and Zhu Shuling. They dragged the couple to the car and sent them to Xinjin Brainwashing Center. They lied to the bystanders, saying that they were taking them for a half-day study. So far there is no news of either Liu Yueqing or Zhu Shuling.

10. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Li Yuan is Arrested

Ms. Li Yuan, over 60 years old, lives in Chengdu City in the Jinjiang District Chaoyang Famous Dwelling. For several years, she was harassed. They tried to force her to write the "Three Statements" and give up the practice. They also monitored her for a long time. Li Yuan did not cooperate at any time and refused to denounce the practice. Since mid-August 2004, she has become homeless to avoid unlawful arrest.

The local officials lied to her family members, by guaranteeing, in the name of Jinjiang District Public Security Bureau Director General, "As long as Li Yuan returns home, we won't arrest her." The family members believed their lies and brought Li Yuan home on August 28. At 6 p.m. on September 2, the local community office colluded with the local police station. About eight people broke into Li Yuan's home, pushed her husband away and attacked them, then took Li Yuan away by force. Her whereabouts are unknown.

11. [Hui County, Henan Province] Several Practitioners Are Detained for Clarifying the Truth

In September 2004, Cai Chengxi, Cai Dongmei, Feng Ronghua, Lang Qingfeng and He Qiuhua from Hui County in Henan Province were arrested as they were clarifying the truth in Lingchuan County, Shanxi Province. They are now detained at Lingchuan County Detention Center. The police do not allow their family members to visit. Cai Chengxi has been tortured cruelly and has been force-fed.

12. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Zhang Lixia is Sentenced to One Year Forced Labor

Ms. Zhang Lixia, 32 years old, was dismissed from Dasui River Cement Factory in Chuanying District, Jilin City. On the afternoon of October 8, 2004, when she was peeling corn at her farm, police from the Chuanying District Public Security Substation and the Dasui River Local Police arrested her without cause.

The police sent Zhang Lixia to one year of forced labor. They did not allow her to speak, arrested her without legal cause, and took her immediately to Jilin City's No. 3 Detention Center.

13. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Shao Jihong Seized at Work

Ms. Shao Jihong graduated from the university this year. She was assigned to teach at Balin Zuoqi kindergarten in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. On September 10, 2004, Zuoqi Public Security Bureau police Du Yi and Na Shun colluded with Linxi Public Security Bureau police and arrested her at her place of work. The police did not have any legal documents, cause, or evidence to arrest her. Shao Jihong's whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Liaoning Province] Wafangdian Prison Continues to Torture Practitioners

Liaoning Province Wafangdian Prison has again tortured detained practitioners. Yang Guoqian and others were brutally beaten and not allowed to meet their family members.

15. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Yang Qiaoying and Yang Shuixian Arrested for Distributing Truth-Clarification Materials

On September 22, 2004, practitioners Ms. Yang Qiaoying and Ms. Yang Shuixian of Tianshui City, Gansu Province, distributed Falun Gong truth-clarification materials in Guanzi Town. They were reported and are still being held at Qincheng District Detention Center.

16. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Li Yueying and Wang Junhong Seized by "610 Office" When Visiting Fellow Practitioner

At noon on October 16, 2004, Ms. Li Yueying and Ms. Wang Junhong visited newly released fellow practitioner Yang at Youyi County. Shuangyashan City policemen Du Zhanyi and others broke into the room and arrested Li Yueying and Wang Junhong. They are detained in Shuangyashan.

17. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Yuan Peng is Seized

Fushun City practitioner Yuan Peng lived in a rented apartment in the Lishi Development Zone in Fushun City. At 9 p.m. on September 8, he was reported by a neighbor and taken away by Lishi Local Police Station policemen from his residence.

On September 22, 2004, the Fushun Economic Development Zone Procuratorate authorized the arrest of Yuan Peng. He is now being held at Fushun City's No. 1 Detention Center, where over 40 practitioners are already being detained.

18. [Huadian City, Jilin Province] Huang Xuelin and Jiang Huanxin Arrested While Distributing Truth-Clarification Materials

On October 20, Ms. Huang Xuelin and Jiang Huanxin from the Hongshi Forestry Bureau in Huadian City, Jilin Province, were arrested as they were distributing Falun Gong truth-clarification flyers in Naerhong Town, Jingyu County. The details are unknown.

19. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ren Xiuzhi is Arrested

Ms. Ren Xiuzhi is a 49-year-old villager from Siwang Village, Xugezhuang Town, Fengnan District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. In July 2002, she was arrested for handing out Falun Gong materials and detained for six months. She did not renounce the practice of Falun Gong and remained steadfast. In September 2004, three policemen from Xugezhuang Town Local Police Station intruded into her home, confiscated her Falun Dafa books, arrested her, and put her into Fengnan Detention Center. She suffered serious injury mentally and physically.

20. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ma Ling Arrested, Family Implicated

On September 21, Ms. Ma Ling of Kunming University in Kunming City, Yunnan Province, was arrested. She has been detained for 31 days, which is over the allowed maximum period of 30 days. The Party Committee Secretary of Kunming Coal Mine Mechanical Factory Malong Branch Factory, where her younger brother Ma Xianming works, has received orders to not grant him any leave. They were told to give as the reason that he was too busy at work. They wanted to prevent him from going to the Judiciary Department to report Ma Ling's situation.

21. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Zhang Suyan and Dai Yali Seized for Distributing Materials

On the night of October 20, Ms. Zhang Suyan and Ms. Dai Yali of Panjin City No. 1 Petroleum Gas Pipeline Company were arrested as they were handing out Falun Gong truth-clarification materials. Zhang Suyan's printer was taken from her home.

22. [Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province] Three Practitioners Arrested and Sentenced

At 6:30 p.m. on October 12, 2004, Liu Guiyin was arrested while distributing Falun Gong materials. On the afternoon of the next day, Xixi Local Police Station in the Xihu District searched Liu's home. Before this, Wang Dawu had been detained for several months and sentenced to 12 years in prison. This is his second time in jail. Also, Chen Wuyong was sentenced to two-year prison term.

23. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Jiang Limin is on Hunger Strike to Protest Illegal Detention

Mr. Jiang Limin from Changchun is now being held in a detention center. Due to the pressure, the police have not interrogated him with torture, but they have deprived him of sleep. Jiang Limin is now holding a hunger strike to protest the unlawful detention.

24. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Liang Jianguo, Lei Jingxiong and Li Ziran are Tortured

On August 18, 2004, Mr. Liang Jianguo, Lei Jingxiong and Li Ziran from Heba Town, Datonghu District, Yiyang City, Hunan Province, were arrested at the Tianxin District Southern Railway Station in Changsha City. They were detained at Changsha City's No. 1 Detention Center. Lei Jingxiong was tortured and seriously injured by police from the Tianxin District. He was then sent to Changsha City Central Hospital for medical treatment.

Liang Jianguo and Li Ziran have been on a hunger strike to resist the persecution. After more than two weeks, the police officers notified Liang Jianguo and Li Ziran's family members to take them home because of their deteriorating health. After Liang Jianguo went back home, the Datonghu District "610 Office" in Yiyang City hired people to monitor him, prevented him from going out, and unlawfully restricted his personal freedom. It is rumored that, around October 3, after Liang Jianguo had recovered, the Changsha City Police Department again arrested him. His whereabouts are unknown.

25. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Huang Jinhua's Home Searched

Ms. Huang Jinhua, over 60, employee of Zhuzhou City 311 Factory, lives in the Lusong District. Around October 10, 2004, the Zhuzhou City National Security Bureau special police team rushed into her home and claimed that people had reported Huang Jinhua for practicing Falun Gong at home. They searched her home, confiscated all Falun Gong literature, and took her away for interrogation. Huang Jinhua resisted the persecution with righteous thoughts and was later released.

26. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Zhao Wei Seized for Distributing Falun Gong Materials

Mr. Zhao Wei, 42 years old, from Dandong City, Liaoning Province, distributed Falun Gong materials in Jiulian Town, Zhenan District, Dandong City. After the police arrested him, local area policemen rushed into his mother's home and harassed her. Zhao Wei is now being held at Dandong Baifang Detention Center.

27. [Chongqing] Yu Shuhui is Cruelly Tortured

On the night of her arrest, policemen He Ping and others took turns to cruelly torture Yu Shuhui for the entire night. She fainted, was in a coma for several days, and her entire body was bruised. The police feared that the matter would escalate, so they simply sent Yu Shuhui to Jiulongpo District Detention Center. After a period of time, she was transferred to the Longfeng Brainwashing Center.

Currently, Yu Shuhui has been on hunger strike for more than 20 days. Her health situation is critical.
