1. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] Practitioner Zheng Jun is Sentenced to Three Years of Imprisonment for Distributing Falun Dafa Truth Clarifying Materials

On January 28, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zheng Jun from Xinyang City distributed truth clarifying materials in Shanghai's Pingliang Residential Area. He was reported to police and taken to the Dinghai Road Police Station in the Yangpu District. Later on he was transferred to Yangpu District's Detention Center. More than 20 policemen ransacked his place in Shanghai and confiscated everything, including a computer, printer and other items.

Zheng Jun's parents in Xinyang City also had 1,000 yuan extorted from them by a man called Li Yuliang from Zheng Jun's factory. He said the money was for "transporting Zheng Jun back" and threatened to deduct this amount from their retirement pension if they didn't hand it over. On August 18, 2004, the Yangpu District Court held an illegal hearing. They prohibited Zheng Jun's family members from attending and sentenced Zheng Jun to three years of imprisonment. The police didn't allow Zheng Jun's family members to visit him. To date, Zheng Jun's family doesn't know any details about their son's circumstances.

Zheng Jun's family is planning to appeal.

2. [Baochang Town, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Three Practitioners including Zhao Suqin Are Arrested

At noon on September 21, 2004, five policemen including Li Zhiming, Feng Guoliang, and Zhang Tianlai from Baipusi Banner went to ransack Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhao Suqin's home in Baochang Town. They even arrested Zhao Suqin and two other practitioners, Ms. Li Yufen and Tian, who happened to be visiting Zhao Suqin.

3. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Current Situation of Practitioner Yin Jianhui

In August 2002, practitioner Mr. Yin Jianhui from Shijiazhuang City was arrested for distributing truth-clarifying materials. He was first held at the Zhengding Detention Center and later sentenced to two years of forced labor.

Here are the details:

In March 2001 practitioner Yin Jianhui had been sentenced to forced labor at Shijiazhuang City's Forced Labor Camp, where Yin Jianhui was deprived of sleep for extended hours and suffered being tied with ropes (1), being beaten while hung up, and other inhumane torture methods. Yin Jianhui is a practitioner who has righteous thoughts and righteous conduct. After spending two years in the forced labor camp without any connection with other practitioners, personnel from the forced labor camp ordered him to write a so-called "Guarantee Statement" when his term expired the end of August, but he firmly refused. Right now, Yin Jianhui is being held in Shijiazhuang City's Brainwashing Center.

4. [Qingzhen City, Guizhou Province] Practitioners Huang Huaying and Ye Jingsong, Mother and Daughter, are Again Arrested

At 4:30 p.m. on September 16, 2004, practitioners Ms. Huang Huaying and Ms. Ye Jingsong, mother and daughter, were arrested on Minfu Road in Qingzhen City. The daughter, Ye Jingsong, cried for help. Somebody quickly muzzled her, tied her up and put her into a car.

In July 2001, Huang Huaying was sentenced to three years of forced labor. She jumped from the third floor and managed to escape. Thereafter she was listed as "wanted by the police." The three members of her family had to leave their home and live in exile to avoid further persecution. Huang Huaying and her daughter have just been arrested again and transferred to the No. 1 Section of Guiyang City's Police Department. They might be held at the Lannigou Detention Center in Guiyang City or the Baihuashan Detention Center in the Yunyan District.

5. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Bai Yuzhi Has Been on a Hunger Strike for Over Five Months, Now Blind

Practitioner Ms. Bai Yuzhi from Shijiazhuang City has been tortured again and again due to her insistence on practicing Falun Dafa. She is being held in Hebei Province's Second Prison. In order to resist the persecution, Bai Yuzhi has now been on a hunger strike for over five months. She was force-fed and her health is extremely poor. She is blind and weighs less than 40Kg (about 83 lbs). She can only lie on the bed and can't stand up.

6. [Shahe City, Hebei Province] Arrest of Practitioner Hou Aiqun

At 11:00 p.m. on September 8, personnel from the Qicun Police Precinct in Shahe City broke into the home of Hou Aiqun in Xijiujia in Xicun Town and arrested Hou. Hou's whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Arrest of Practitioner Liu Renmin

Practitioner Ms. Liu Renmin, 45 years old, lives at the Yitulihe Apartment Complex of the Hailar Railway Administration Bureau, Inner Mongolia. During the afternoon of September 1^st 2004, personnel from the National Security Section of the Bureau's Police Division ransacked her home, arrested her and tried to extort a confession. Liu is now being held in the Hailar Detention Center.

Practitioner Mr. Han Zhongchen, in his sixties, was arrested the same day, and his home was ransacked, too. Now he is being held in the Hailar Detention Center.

8. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Arrest of Practitioner Fan Jinping and Her Incarceration in a Brainwashing Class

During the morning of September 20, 2004, a gang of eight people arrested practitioner Ms. Fan Jinping at the Meixi Street Community Office in Nanyang City. Policeman Li Yongxue from the "610 Office," the Political and Judiciary Committee, and the Police Precinct of Wolong District participated in the arrest. They took her to a brainwashing class in Nanyang City's Political and Judiciary Cadre School. Details are under investigation.

9. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Arrest of Four Practitioners

Practitioner Ms. He Chengshu is a fabric retailer in Yi County, Jinzhou City. She was arrested and her home searched on September 12. Mr. Wang Furui was arrested, and his home was searched. Wang is currently being held at a forced labor camp for one year. The practitioner couple Mr. Shi Changqing and Ms. Sun Xiuyun was also arrested.

10. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Couple Wang Hechang and Qi Changkun Live in Exile

Practitioner couple Wang Hechang and Qi Changkun, both over 50 years old, are from Panjin City, Liaoning Province. They escaped after their arrest and went to live in exile.

At noon on September 14, 2004, personnel from the Anshan Police Precinct, Panjin City's Xingong Police Precinct, and the Chuangxin Police Precinct attempted to arrest the Wang Hechang couple. They tried to pry open a door but failed. Then they cut the window screen and broke in through the window.

Ms. Qi Changkun passed out at the scene and was sent to a hospital for emergency treatment. The couple escaped later that night with the power of their righteous thoughts. They have opted to lead a homeless life to avoid the illegal persecution.

11. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Arrest of Practitioner Zhao Gangquan

In the middle of August, practitioner Zhao Gangquan from Qingdao City, who had gone into exile to avoid the persecution, was arrested in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. His current whereabouts are unknown.

12. [Yitong County, Jilin Province] Arrest of Three Practitioners

Practitioner Mr. Gong Lin and his wife Ms. Sun Yafang were arrested at their home. Policeman Li Xiaodong, head of Yitong County's National Security Brigade in Jilin Province, led other policemen to brutally beat Gong Lin and Sun Yafang. Sun was beaten until she fell into a coma. The police then sent her to a hospital for emergency treatment. Since the police were afraid of taking responsibility for the torture of Sun, they ordered her family to carry her home. The next day the police went to Sun's home. When Sun's family asked why they had come they answered, "Just checking." Gong Lin is still being detained.

Another practitioner Ms. Chen Xiuqin, who was arrested the same day, was beaten and is still being held at a detention center. She had a high fever and lost consciousness. The police have not yet released her.

13. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Arrest of Practitioner Li Xihui

Practitioner Ms. Li Xihui, 42 years old, was an excellent member of the Communist Party Committee for Sichuan People's Radio Station. At the end of August 2004 a national security special agent followed and arrested her. Li is currently being held at Pi County's Detention Center, Sichuan Province. Li Xihui was very determined in her Falun Dafa practice and refused to answer any questions posed by authorities. Li went on a hunger strike on September 13 to protest the persecution. She is very weak.

14. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Arrest of Practitioner Liu Cuihua

Practitioner Ms. Liu Cuihua from Shiyan City, Hubei Province, was arrested and her whereabouts are unknown.

15. [Beixi City, Liaoning Province] Arrest of Five Practitioners

At 1:00 a.m. on September 19, 2004, officers from Benxi City's Police Department arrested five practitioners from Benxi City. They are: Tang Zhimei, Wan Hui, Cao, Wang and Jiang Hulin. They are currently being held at Benxi City's Detention Center, also known as the Dabailou Detention Center. So far, at least two sites where truth clarifying materials are produced have been destroyed.

16. [Laiwu City, Shandong Province] Arrest of Practitioners Wang Zideng, Liu Kongyu and Gong Peijian

During the afternoon of August 5, 2004, when practitioner Mr. Wang Zideng from the Laicheng District in Laiwu City went to kindergarten to pick up his child, personnel who had long been waiting to ambush him arrested him. Afterwards, they besieged his house for over 20 hours, intending to arrest other practitioners, which frightened his two young children so badly that they did not dare to leave home.

About 5:00 a.m. on August 6, 2004, more than ten people besieged the home of practitioner Liu Kongyu in the Laicheng District. They broke into the house and searched everywhere. They confiscated lots of Dafa materials as well as their citizen ID cards and household registration book. Then they abducted Liu Kongyu and Gong Pijian, a practitioner from another area.

According to a preliminary investigation, the illegal arrest was plotted by Zhang Zhengquan, Laiwu City's Political and Judiciary Committee chief, and executed by persons from Laiwu City's National Security Bureau and Police Department. Where the practitioners are being detained is unknown at present.

17. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Wang Lin Is Sent to a Forced Labor Camp for One Year

On August 9, when practitioner Wang Lin went to the Jixiang Market after work to buy some vegetables, he/she clarified the truth of Falun Gong to an older seller. When a plainclothes policewoman came and asked him/her to stop, Wang Lin began to clarify the truth to her. Unexpectedly, the policewoman took the key from Wang Ling's motorcycle and reported the incident to the Lingnan Police Precinct in the Taihe District.

Li Baocun, the Lingnan Police Precinct chief who is also the deputy chief for the Gaoxin District Police Department in Jinzhou City, led a group of policemen to arrest Wang Lin. On August 11, Jinzhou City's Forced Labor Committee decided to send Wang Lin to forced labor camp for one year for "disturbing social order." Wang Lin is currently being detained in Jinzhou City's Forced Labor Camp. The policewoman that reported Wang Lin is Wang Min, a member of the criminal police team for Gaoxin District's Police Department.

Notes:

(1) Tying the Ropes: The police tie up the practitioner with a thin rope, circle the rope around his neck, and tie his hands behind his back. Then the police use all the force they can muster to tighten the rope. The rope becomes tighter and tighter around the body of the practitioner, making it more and more difficult for him to breathe. The pain is so intense that the practitioner sometimes loses control of his bladder. There have been instances when the rope was tight enough to break a practitioner's arm.
