Facts of the Persecution

Falun Dafa practitioners Yin Jun, Guo Shuhui, Li Zengyun and others from Fusong County, Jilin Province have been illegally detained at the Fusong Detention Center for three to four months. Yin Jun and Li Zengyun will be put on trial by the local court in the near future.

The following are some facts of the insidious persecution suffered by Falun Dafa practitioners at the Liaoyuan City Labor Camp, Jilin Province:

Ms. Zhao Lijuan, from Liaoyuan City, was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor for the second time in 2002. She is now detained at the 2^nd Division of the Liaoyuan City Labor Camp; Liang Yujie, from Liaoyuan City, was illegally sentenced to forced labor in 2002 and was detained at the 3^rd Division of the Liaoyuan City Labor Camp.

The guards and the labor camp doctor with the surname Guo force-fed Mr. Liang and tied him up on the "Death Bed" for over 10 days; Practitioner Li Min from Tonghua was illegally sentenced to forced labor for the third time in July 2004. Li Min was detained in the 4^th Division during the first and second detention. He suffered barbaric tortures including being shocked with electric batons, severe beatings and sleep deprivation; Ms. Li Guiling, from Datun, Changchun City, was sentenced to forced labor for the first time in 1999 and was detained in the 6^th Division, where police officers Zhu Dan and Zhang Tao shocked her with three long electric batons under instructions of Division Head Li Tong. The police later released Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li, claiming that she was suffering from a mental disorder.

Ms. Gao Xingfang, 60 years old, is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Shuanghe Town, Rongchang County, Chongqing City. She was abducted in July 2001 while she was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to people in Shiqiao Town of Lu County, Sichuan Province. Then perpetrators from the Shiqiao Town police station took her to the county detention center, where the police handcuffed her with rough iron handcuffs for ten consecutive days. It was extremely hot at that time, with the temperature reaching 38 or 39ºC [98 to 100ºF]. By the time they took the handcuffs off her wrists, both her wrists had festered to the extent that the bones were exposed. On April 13, 2002, Ms. Gao was taken to the Yubei District Detention Center, where a female perpetrator forced her to take off all her clothes, and then beat her up and kicked her. The perpetrator then poured icy cold water over her.

On August 6, Gao Xingfang was again abducted and sentenced to two years of forced labor in the Maoshan Labor Camp. The perpetrators humiliated her by shaving half of her head. Later they forced her to wear oversized shoes and to run 50 laps around the sports ground under the scorching sun, and forced her to watch Falun Dafa-slandering videotapes.

Falun Gong practitioner Wu Yunrui, 48 years old, was formerly the deputy mayor of Bozhou City in Anhui Province and the deputy administrator of the Tourism Bureau of Anhui Province. She was always honest in performing her official duties. After she took up the practice of Falun Dafa, she became even stricter with herself and followed the principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance in everything she said and did. The general manager of a food company once said that she had "brought righteousness to the area."

Later, when Ms. Wu suffered persecution, the police only found 7,000 yuan cash when searching her home. Even the police who were engaged in the search said, "We have ransacked the home of an honest and upright official!" In December 1999, Wu Yunrui was arrested for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. The next day the Tourism Bureau stripped her of all her administrative posts and duties. Later she was sentenced to four years in prison and was locked up in the Anhui Provincial Women's Prison located in Su County. At the prison, Wu Yunrui refused to be "Reformed" [to renounce Falun Dafa] and suffered coercion and maltreatment as a result. The prison ordered ten inmates to monitor her around the clock and did not allow her to talk to anyone. Wu Yunrui was very firm in her faith. She persuaded those former practitioners who had gone astray and who went down an evil path to return to the practice when they tried to reform her. On December 27, 2003, Wu Yunrui walked out of the prison with dignity. On October 11, 2004 she was again abducted at the Bozhou City Railway Station. We urgently appeal to the international community for the rescue of Wu Yunrui!

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Baozhi from Nanyang, 52 years old, is a retired worker from the city's lock factory. Police officer Du Siwei and others abducted her on March 4, 2004. Her home was also ransacked and numerous personal belongings were taken away, including 35,000 yuan in cash, a TV, a VCD player, mobile phone, computer, printer and a number of other equipment.

Another Nanyang Falun Dafa practitioner, Mr. Li Yansheng, over 60 years old, is a retired engineer from the city's August 1 Factory. On the morning of March 5, 2004, five police officers from the Wancheng District ransacked his home, showing no warrant for an official search. They then took Li Yansheng away by deception. It has been over six months now since Li Yansheng was taken away. He is currently incarcerated in the city's Second Detention Center. It is said that Li Yansheng's life is now in danger as a result of the persecution. His family members requested his release on bail for health reasons, yet the police will not release him unless his family pays 100,000 yuan, which is far beyond the family's capability.

As for the detention case of Ms. Ma Ling from the Library of Yunnan University, both the Wuhua Police Substation and the Wuhua District Detention Center are trying to evade their responsibility and refuse to allow her family to visit her. Detainees in the Wuhua District Detention Center are not allowed to wear shoes or socks. Policemen Ma Bin and Zheng Hongbin are personally involved in Ma Ling's case, and yet when Ma Ling's family members went to talk to them, they would not meet with them.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Mei Bilin, a lecturer in the Yunnan Province Forestry Technology Institute, was sent to the Yunnan Province's Dabanqiao Women's Labor Camp, where she suffered severe physical torture and mental torment. She cannot eat anymore and is now being given an intravenous glucose drip. She has suffered severe bodily harm.
