(Clearwisdom.net) According to a report on October 9, 2004 from Central News Agency, in order to support fellow practitioners being persecuted in China, Falun Gong practitioners in the Kao Hsiung area held a live exhibition at the "Urban Spotlight" in downtown Kao Hsiung to expose torture implemented in China's forced labor camps and police stations. They informed people with facts and called on people to pressure the Chinese authorities to stop this persecution.
The "Urban Spotlight" is very crowded in the holiday season (October 10 is Taiwan's National Day). People were stunned upon watching the exhibition about the persecution and torture experienced by Falun Gong practitioners. Many people said that it was hard to comprehend these facts. Many people stopped to watch the live re-enactment and showed their concern. Falun Gong practitioners also displayed banners and handed out flyers to call on people to support practitioners who are persecuted by the Chinese authorities.
A foreigner who passed by said that it was really unbelievable that this type of torture was still going on in China today.
A practitioner of Falun Gong said that the Chinese authorities would not let Chinese people who carried U.S. or other countries' passports go. The torture methods implemented are extremely cruel, making people bristle with anger.
He continued to say that the persecution of Falun Gong in China has been going on for more than 5 years. So far, more than 1,000 practitioners have died from the persecution. At least 6,000 practitioners have been sentenced to prison. Over 1,000 practitioners are locked up in psychiatric hospitals. More than 100,000 practitioners have been put into forced labor camps without any legal procedure. There are more practitioners whose whereabouts remain unclear after they were abducted. In China, Falun Gong practitioners could be arrested at any moment, and the persecution is still going on today.
