(Clearwisdom.net) There was a woman known as the "Falun Gong lady", who had been in a detention center for nine months. The police checked attendance several times each day, calling out everybody's names. Whenever her name came up, she responded loud and clear, "The Dafa Practitioner is here." She smiled and greeted new prisoners. She told them "Falun Dafa is good!" She helped them remember the words "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance" and asked them to not commit crimes again. She asked them to become good people when they completed their jail terms, to be true, compassionate and to endure.
No matter which cell she was in, the guards could not stop her from practicing Falun Gong. She was very nice to cellmates. One day, several young girls who were addicted to drugs arrived. They were very young and skinny, and had a hopeless look in their eyes. However, the "Falun Gong lady" did not treat them any differently than anyone else.
She told them about Falun Gong and the words of "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance." She encouraged them to turn over new leaves in their lives. One of them was only a teenager. The "Falun Gong lady" helped her to comb her hair and wash her hands. Once, the little girl was feeling scared of the night. The practitioner had her lie down on her lap until the morning. When she woke up, the girl was really touched by what had happened. She hugged the woman and wept while saying "Because I am a drug addict, my parents do not even want me to be around. Why do you treat me so nicely?" The lady replied, "Falun Gong taught me so. Teacher asks us to treat everyone nicely." The little girl was confused, "Why did the TV broadcast show that Falun Gong practitioners were killers and conducted a self-immolation in Tiananmen Square?" The aunt responded, "Those are complete lies. Look at me. Do I look like a murderer or someone who would set myself on fire?" "No, not at all. It looks to me that Falun Gong practitioners are good people, the best people, in fact."
The "Falun Gong lady" was soon going to leave, and lots of people would miss her.
