Facts of the Persecution

A brief summary of Dafa practitioners being persecuted in Moucun County, Fangzi Village, Weifang City: 1) An elderly gentleman, Mr. Liang, walked tirelessly to appeal in Beijing, and was beaten so severely that both his ribs and leg were broken; 2) Meng Qingxi was tortured to death; 3) Yan Airong was beaten unconscious, his body covered with black and blue marks.

Yue Mingjun, head of the Qingxi Police Station in the Lianshan section of Huludao City, has done his utmost to persecute Falun Gong practitioners since July 20, 1999. He abducted, imprisoned, and brutally tortured practitioners. He personally arrested six Falun Gong practitioners and sent them to a forced labor camp, and sent three more to a detention center and Dabei Jail. He often extorted money from the families of practitioners. He is a bad influence on the general public.

In Deyang Prison, Sichuan Province, policeman Qiu Shen urged prisoners to torture and punish Dafa practitioners. Sometimes, he carried out these acts himself: 1) Dafa practitioner Xu Changzheng was beaten and had his teeth knocked out; 2) Tao Changquan was assaulted until bleeding profusely in the interrogation room; 3) Pan Fu was beaten so badly that he couldn't stand up; 4) Wang Xiaosong was beaten so badly that he lost consciousness several times; and 5) Yang Shaoguang, Chen Chuanbo, Xu Yukai, Chen Kaixiang, and Liang Junhua, just to name a few more, were all badly beaten.

On November 9, 2003, Dafa practitioner Liu Jianjun went to an army residence to fix a window. While waiting for other people to arrive, he read a Dafa book, and was discovered by an army officer. The officer took his book away and ordered a dozen soldiers to beat him, causing bruising in his left eye for over 20 days, and chest and waist pains for more than a month. Those soldiers took Liu to the Wuyi Road Police Station and then sent him to Qiaodong Legal School in Zhangjiakou for brainwashing. Liu went on a hunger strike to protest and was subjected to force-feeding. He became seriously ill, and the brainwashing unit was forced to release him after 15 days.

Policemen controlled by the Linyi City "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.] often arrested practitioners and sent them to the brainwashing unit to convert them and to extort large sums of money from them. (Every practitioner was required to pay 3,000 Yuan for "tuition.") The brainwashing unit employed the following torture tactics: 1) sleep deprivation, not allowing practitioners to lie down, pulling ears, twisting noses, pulling eyelashes, and pulling hair; 2) writing vicious words about Dafa on practitioners' bodies; 3) insulting and threatening the practitioners; 4) implicating family members of practitioners; 5) confining, imprisoning, and isolating unconverted practitioners, having them stand and face the wall, and making them sit on tiny benches; 6) forced brainwashing; 7) watching and monitoring other practitioners, and forcing practitioners to step on Teacher's picture before being allowed to eat or use the restroom; 8) forcing practitioners to scold themselves and repent; 9) force feeding; 10) forcing collaborators [former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture] to torture other practitioners; 11) forcing practitioners to sing songs praising Jiang, and forcing them to do Taiqi, etc.

The brainwashing centers in Hanyang (Wuhan City) and Qiaokou colluded and exchanged information on methods and experiences torturing practitioners. Yang Ronghua, a policeman from the Hanyang Branch Public Security Bureau, participated in brainwashing and persecuting practitioners. He often brought practitioners' family members or relatives to the brainwashing center as companions, and extorted money from them. Because of her efforts, Huang Liping of the Hanyang prosecutor's office was promoted to manage one of the "610 Offices" in Hanyang City. They used collaborators to tie Dafa books on practitioners' arms, drag them to a yard, and spin them around. She dealt with steadfast practitioners by hanging them up, exposing them to the sun, locking them in dark rooms with mosquitoes, not allowing them to wash or sleep, and urging collaborators to beat them.

On November 20, 2003 practitioners Jiang Shifeng, Guo Yongfang, and Huang Faxing from Changgang Fourth Factory, Jiangyou, Sichuan Province, were illegally arrested while clarifying the truth of Dafa in Beichuanxiao City. They are now detained in Beichuanxiao Police station.

Working for the "610 Office" for the last four years in Hedong Section, Linyi City, are four people, Wang Chuanyu, Wang Liaocheng, Ma Xiaoguang, and Ge Changting, who have tortured practitioners. They usually watch a practitioner for several days and deprive him/her of sleep. They force practitioners to curse Dafa and Teacher and write statements of repentance and self-criticism. If practitioners do not obey, they are tortured. More than one hundred practitioners have been brutally tortured; ten have been sent to forced labor camps, thirty were imprisoned, two were forced to stay away from home to avoid further persecution, and the whereabouts of one is still unknown. These people monitored practitioners' residences, taped phone conversations, confiscated houses, fined practitioners, did not allow them to attend school, ended the disbursement of practitioners' salaries, etc. This is all done in order to persecute practitioners and their families.
