(Clearwisdom.net) At the Baoding Labor Camp in Hebei Province, many female Dafa practitioners have been subjected to brutal torture. Among them are a businesswoman, professor and assistant chief procurator. Below is an account of the persecution these women have experienced.
Ms. Yuan Guihua is a businesswoman in Fuping County, Hebei Province. In 2002, she was illegally sent to the Baoding Labor Camp for two years because she continued to practice Falun Dafa.
In order to force her to give up her belief, police officers in the labor camp used many tactics such as forcing her to stand or squat down, holding her arms around her head for extended periods of time, beatings, hanging her up, sleep deprivation, and more. Because the labor camp receives 1000 Yuan for each practitioner who renounces their belief in Falun Dafa, they exhausted all methods in order to achieve this goal. Ms. Yuan absolutely opposed their persecution, and began a hunger strike to protest it. She was sent to the "Enforced Class," where she was beaten by the inmates and forced to work for 15 hours a day. In order to protest this, she continued her hunger strike together with another Dafa practitioner. The vicious guards handcuffed her to a chair for about 2 weeks. She was beaten, verbally abused, and brutally force-fed on a daily basis, but she never renounced her belief in spite of the torture. The guards dragged her to the hospital by holding her arms and legs and continued to torture her using all means. Even under such conditions, her righteous belief could not be shaken. After mentally and physically abusing her for more than a month, the police finally let her return home.
When Ms. Yuan was out of danger and her health began to recover slightly while she was at home, authorities from the local "610 Office" took the opportunity to seize her once again and send her to the forced labor camp for further persecution. She continued to conduct a hunger strike to protest her illegal detention. The guards dragged her to the fourth floor to torture her. There, she was handcuffed to a bed, and was not allowed to use the bathroom even during her menstrual period. The inmates threw away her underwear daily since she was not permitted to use the bathroom or sanitary napkins, and soon she was shackled to the bed completely nude. To cause her maximum pain during her hunger strike, the vicious guards inserted a force-feeding tube into her stomach and left it in her for more than a month. In this way, she bore tremendous suffering far beyond what an ordinary person could imagine and was subjected to serious unhygienic conditions. With her righteous belief towards Teacher and Falun Dafa being as solid as rock, she got out of the forced labor camp once again. Later, news surfaced that she had died as a result of the persecution she received, however the details remain unknown and are being investigated.
Ms. Zhang Guiting was a professor at Baoding Normal College, Hebei Province. In 2000, she was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor education because of her practice of Falun Dafa. One time, the guards in Baoding Labor Camp discovered Falun Dafa practitioners reading Teacher's articles. Using their wisdom, the practitioners were able to keep these articles from being confiscated and destroyed by the authorities. However, the guards became very upset, and they forced Professor Zhang to stay in solitary confinement for one month, and extended her term for one month. In 2001, the guards and inmates attempted to force Dafa practitioners to renounce their belief by using physical abuse, beatings, electric shock, sleep deprivation, and so on. None of these tactics could shake her righteous belief towards Teacher and Dafa. Although Professor Zhang is already in her 60s, the guards still detained her with regular criminals, thinking that the stress and overload of forced-labor for so many days and nights could destroy a Dafa practitioner's will.
In March 2003, Professor Zhang's labor camp term ended. In collusion with the local "610 Office" and her employer, the labor camp did not release her according to regulations but instead transferred her directly to the Baoding Brainwashing Center located in Nanma Village of Songlindian Town in Zhuozhou City. Professor Zhang was brutally tortured there. Later, she was transferred back to the labor camp, and has been illegally detained there ever since.
Bai Yun is an Assistant Chief Procurator in Baoding Procuratorial Bureau. In 2002, she was illegally sent to Baoding Labor Camp for two years. The guards forced her to stand motionless for extended periods in order to try to force her to renounce her belief. Inspite of the torture, she absolutely refused to do so. She reasoned with the guards on the basis of the law, which left them unable to answer. She opposed all of the police's demands and pressure. The police later sent her to the "Enforced Class" together with a few other Dafa practitioners.
In April 2003, the "610 Office" authorities in Hebei Province ordered the transfer of determined Dafa practitioners between labor camps in Baoding, Shijiazhuang, Gaoyang, Tangshan, etc. They attempted to force Dafa Disciples to renounce their belief by using this strategy. On April 24, Ms. Bai and other practitioners were sent to the Gaoyang Labor Camp.
Xing Junhua is a resident in Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province. In October 2000, she was illegally detained, and later sent to Baoding Labor Camp for three years without proper legal procedure. In order to transform her, the guards brutally tortured her using all means, including forcing her to squat with her arms wrapped around her head, sleep deprivation, not allowing her to use the bathroom etc. The guards even stretched her limbs and chained her hands and feet to the four corners of the bed, for 15 days straight. One day in August 2002, when she was sending forth righteous thoughts in the bed, a collaborator [former practitioner who has turned against Dafa under pressure] told the police. Ms. Xing was then forced to stand motionless for three days and three nights.
In September 2002, the Women's Division of Baoding Labor Camp forced Dafa practitioners to clean lead plates. Because of the overload of the forced labor and poisoning from the lead particles, Ms. Xing was often spitting up blood. After this continued for 6 months, she was diagnosed with an early stage of stomach cancer. Even under such conditions, the labor camp still did not release Ms. Xing, and even claimed, "You will be kept here as long as you can still breathe!"
With strong righteous thoughts, Ms. Xing got out of the labor camp in May 2003. She was able to once again participate in the Fa-Rectification.
Tang Guihong is a resident in Baoding, Hebei Province. In 2002, she was illegally sent to the labor camp for three years. Upon arrival at the labor camp, she began a hunger strike to protest the detention and the authorities' attempts to force her to renounce her belief in Falun Dafa. The guards handcuffed her for seven days and seven nights, and brutally beat her many times. As a result, her lower back was injured and she became unable to walk or take care of herself. In April 2003, she was sent to the Gaoyang Labor Camp together with a few other Dafa practitioners for further persecution. Her current whereabouts are unknown. Ms. Tang's husband Zhang Yueming is also a Dafa practitioner, and he is currently detained at the Shijiazhuang Labor Camp. After the couple's arrest, their 70-year-old father and 12-year-old daughter had to depend on each other.
Hou Manyun is a resident in Laiyuan County, Hebei Province. In 1999, she was illegally detained in the Laiyuan Detention Center, where she was brutally tortured. A guard once beat her until she was unconscious. Because she protected other practitioners, she was once handcuffed to the heating pipes. The bones in her wrists were exposed from having the handcuffs dig into her flesh for so long. Ms. Hou was later sent to the Baoding Labor Camp. One day in 2001, during the peak time when police were using all means necessary to force Falun Dafa practitioners to renounce their belief, she was sitting on the bed with her legs crossed. The guard on duty noticed this, and dragged her into an office. Policewoman Yan Qingfen, the Political Head of the Women's Division, directed four inmates to beat and kick her to the floor. The beating did not stop until she passed out.
Because of the torture, Ms. Hou was severely depressed, and her blood pressure increased dramatically. Diagnosis in the military hospital showed that bones in her skull were damaged, which in turn impaired her nerves that caused her symptoms. The police threatened Ms. Hou: "Do not tell others about this. If you do your husband will also be sent to the labor camp."
Dong Xiuling, a lady in her 50s, is a resident of Baoding City, Hebei Province. In 2001, she was illegally sent to the forced labor camp for two years and detained in the Baoding Labor Camp. She was cruelly tortured countless times. Still, she is determined in her faith in Teacher and Dafa.
One day in April 2002, because Ms. Dong Xiuling erected her palm and sent forth righteous thoughts, policewoman Dong Qing handcuffed her hands and feet to a chair for seven days and seven nights. In August 2002, in order to rescue some practitioners, she went on a hunger strike together with some other Dafa practitioners. The guards dragged her by the feet, with her head banging along the stairs, all the way from the second floor to the first floor. Her head made a very loud noise as it was bumping along the stairs. The guards then cuffed her hands and feet to a bed for 22 consecutive days, followed by forcing her to stand for three days and three nights. Throughout the inhuman persecution, she kept sending forth righteous thoughts. Her unshakable perseverance shocked the evil.
