(Clearwisdom.net) I have heard many times from a fellow practitioner that many people including herself felt that distributing truth materials was a political action. For example, some fellow practitioners thought the caricature of the evil head was too ugly. Although we as practitioners know why it is like that, everyday people don't. Therefore, when an everyday person sees those materials, they become antithetical and accuse us of being political.
In addition, the truth materials tend to be too comprehensive in exposing the evil head. They include not only the persecution, but also scandals regarding embezzlement and corruption. It seems that it is often counterproductive to include everything. When people receive the materials, it is difficult for them to be objective because the media has deceived them for so many years. Deep in their bones, the propaganda spread by the media is still there. Therefore, when they receive our truth clarification material, their reactions are often not to think about whether the information is true or not, but to say, "You guys are involved in political activities."
I personally believe that we should avoid using articles that are emotional and those that are irrelevant to the persecution of Falun Dafa and practitioners in our truth clarification efforts. We should be understanding of those who don't know the facts and try to provide comprehensive information instead of a single article that targets one issue.
When it comes to articles about natural calamities and human disasters, we should be highly selective depending on the target group. Last year, I sent out some information that I thought was very good; however, based on the feedback I received, it was the least effective information I have ever distributed. I am not saying that the article was bad. It was because I neglected the group characteristics of the target population. These were all young people who work in foreign-owned companies. They are products of scientific education and have little knowledge or beliefs in supernatural power. To talk to them about retribution is not the most effective way. Since then, I have not used those types of materials on a large scale any more. Instead, I selected articles focusing on the beauty of Falun Dafa and facts of the persecution.
If we could think about the receiving end when we clarify the truth and compile materials that are appropriate to their likes, age, characteristics, living environment and educational level, instead of focusing on our own preferences, it would be much more effective. If we could give our feedback with compassion to those in material production, instead of being passive and resistant to materials we don't like, can you imagine what the situation would be like?
These are my own thoughts. Please kindly point out anything that is inappropriate.
