Seven Falun Gong practitioners, who are also participants in a monthlong National Rescue Month Car Tour, visited Tallahassee on Friday to hold a news conference and to collect petition signatures. Falun Gong members are asking U.S. government officials for help in rescuing fellow practitioners' family members and friends, specifically two Americans, who are being illegally detained in China due to practicing Falun Gong, a traditional exercise and meditation form banned in China. The seven practitioners make up the Florida team in the car tour, and have traveled throughout the state. All teams are en route to Washington, D.C., where the tour will end.
