Article Review: What Falun Dafa Has Given Me

My name is Magdalena Savic. I live in Sweden. I have practised Falun Dafa since 1995. I want to share with you what Falun Dafa has given me. I shall give a short account of how my life has been before I started practising Falun Dafa.

I was a very sick person. Since I was born I had weak physical health. Nobody really knew what was wrong with me. I was just weak, had no immunity to sickness, could faint anytime, and was susceptible to all kinds of illnesses. My parents carried me to many doctors to seek help. The doctors never found the cause to my weakness and sick physical body. So the doctors recommended strong tablets, change of environment, varying food and so on. At one time my life was hanging on a straw and the doctors could not help me. In desperation, my father who had faith in God promised to donate his whole month's salary to the church if I could recover. I survived that time and my father kept the promise and paid the amount to the church.

I survived the crisis. I could feel better periodically, but no significant change had taken place. There were not many days when I could be without treatment. So I tried during whole life to take great care of my body through physical training, strong tablets and many visits to doctors. Despite all these efforts and the fact that I have never smoked or drunk alcohol, I suffered from muscular problems at the age of 26, my body twitched and I could not control my movements. The doctors suspected epilepsy and so it could not be cured. There was something wrong with my brain. I had to take medicine for the rest of my life. The next shocking message came at the age of 36. I had cancer in my lungs. I was treated with radiotherapy but instead of becoming better the cancer spread to my whole body. Then I was treated with chemotherapy. I got worse and worse. I did not know what to do. The doctors could only give me painkillers. I nearly gave up my life but still for some reason I struggled to survive.

The doctors did not give me much hope. I started to look for alternative methods. I thought that they could help me. For several years I tried all sorts of physical and spiritual treatments and medicine qigong. I have paid an enormous sum of money in my endeavour to become healthy but did not succeed. When one symptom disappeared a few others appeared. It never ended. Nothing helped and I continued to search.

In 1995 I came in touch with Falun Dafa through an acquaintance. Just a short while after I have practised Falun Dafa, my physical body became indeed purified from all illness. Today at the age of 49, I am free from all illnesses. I do not need any tablets, any therapy or any ordinary physical training. Like a miracle, my body feels fantastic and it is healthy.

To obtain Fa, and the feeling of having a body free from illnesses is difficult to describe with words, it has to be experienced. Yet, getting a healthy body is just a side effect of practising Falun Dafa. That was the very first thing a Falun Dafa practitioner experiences.

In the book "Zhaun Falun" Master Li Hongzhi said, "I do not talk about healing illnesses here, nor will we heal illnesses. However as a genuine cultivator, you cannot practise cultivation with an ill body. I shall purify your body. The body purification will be done only to those who come to genuinely study the practice and Dafa. We emphasize one point that if you cannot give up the attachment or that illness, we cannot do anything and will be helpless to you. Why can it be done to a practitioner, then? It is because a practitioner is most precious, and he wants to practice cultivation. Therefore, having this thought is most precious when his Buddha nature comes out, the enlightened people will be able to help him." I understand that the orthodox Fa provides salvation unconditionally to people who want to cultivate genuinely.

Apart from the fact that my physical body is free from diseases, I know the reason why I am here on earth as a human being. Falun Dafa has given me a new life with a clear and conscious mind. It also gives me the ability to differentiate between right and wrong, god and bad, a possibility to cultivate my Xinxing, assimilate to the characteristics of the Universe Zhen-Shan-Ren, become enlightened, return to my original true self, and attain perfection.

Falun Dafa has given all these to me. For all this I thank deeply Falun Dafa and the teacher of Falun Dafa Mr. Li Hongzhi. Thanks you, Mr. Li Hongzhi!!
