[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Dafa Practitioner Mr. Shi Lei Has Been Detained at the Qingling Detention Center; His Old Injury Has Recurred
Mr. Shi Lei is a very determined Dafa practitioner who was arrested on October 1, 2002 while making some Dafa truth-clarifying materials. He has been detained at Wuchang District's Qingling Detention Center ever since.
On August 19, 2003, local authorities attempted to sentence him to 11 years of imprisonment. In the court, Shi Lei defended himself sternly and sensibly. The attorney was made speechless and the court had to postpone the case and the verdict put off.
Shi Lei's neck is so swollen that his jaw is barely visible due to long-term detention and torture. He is very pale and is in a very difficult situation. His old injury from the last detention is probably recurring.
In 2001 and 2002, he was detained at the Hewan Forced Labor Camp for appealing for Falun Gong. During forced labor he refused to cooperate with the evil and was thus tortured so severely that he sustained a cervical vertebra fracture and was unable to take care of himself. When his term had expired, he was transferred to Wuchang District "610 Office"* brainwashing center for further persecution. Studying the Fa and doing the exercises after his release led to his recovery. His family suffered a great mental burden because of his detention.
[Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Policeman Jing Dianke from the Dalian Forced Labor Camp Cruelly Tortures Dafa Practitioners and Arouses Public Indignity
Jing Dianke cruelly tortured Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Jisheng, force-fed him wine and other things and put seven or eight cigarettes in his mouth. (Note: Smoking and drinking alcohol are against Falun Gong's teachings.) He tried all kinds of despicable means to force the practitioner to give up his belief. Even people who had given in under pressure and who were now helping brainwash the practitioner found it intolerable. They stood up, one by one to stop Jing Dianke. When the camp authority saw that there was a movement to obstruct brainwashing, they hastily transferred Jing Dianke to the No.5 Division. They even had the male team's leader apologize in the brainwashing center to get the situation quieted down. Dafa practitioner Mr. Dong Xunsheng was closely monitored, beaten up and had two teeth pried out for resisting persecution and staging a hunger strike.
Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Wenfu stood up to stop it and was thus beaten.
[Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Labor Camp Personnel Force Dafa Practitioners' Families to Slander Dafa
Heilongjiang Province's Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp holds many Dafa practitioners. The camp authorities prevent family members who have righteous thoughts toward Dafa from meeting with practitioners. To accomplish this, they isolate practitioners and exert pressure on practitioners as a further sign of persecution. They coerce family members who want to see practitioners to slander Dafa and Master according to the requirements they stipulate before the family members are allowed to meet their loved ones on family-visitation day.
[Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Persecution of Dafa Practitioners
At least five Dafa practitioners are detained at Harbin City's Nangang Detention Center. To prevent practitioners from performing the exercises, police put handcuffs and shackles on them. Nevertheless, practitioners remained very firm in Dafa. The police then instigated criminals to relentlessly beat up the practitioners. Police would beat up those criminals who do not beat practitioners and reward those criminals who brutally beat practitioners by reducing their prison terms.
[Wang Village, Shandong Province] Practitioners Return to Dafa
According to a practitioner released from Wang Village's Male Labor Camp, half of the practitioners who are detained in the labor camp and were "transformed" under high pressure by the fabricated lies have stepped forward to validate Dafa again. Police are escalating the persecution against these practitioners and forcing them to work 17 to 18 hours daily.
[Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Arrest of Dafa Disciple Mr. Yin Baowen
Mr. Yin Baowen is an employee working for the Wutan Company, Liaohe Mine. On August 26, 2003 he was arrested and taken to Fushun City's Luotai Resort Brainwashing Center.
In June 2001, Yi Baowen went to Beijing to appeal but was put into Panjin City Forced Labor Camp for two years. He was released in July 2003 and returned to his work unit. The officials ordered him to write a "guarantee statement."** He refused, and as a result he lost his job. On August 26, 2003, his work unit officials called him and told him that they would assign work to him, but then he was arrested right after he arrived at work. At his arrest, Mr. Yin Baowen was publicly beaten.
The personnel who arrested Yin Baowen were policeman Liu Bin and chief Zhang Yuxiu from Xinglongtai District's Taishan Police Precinct.
[Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Prison Sentence for Three Dafa Practitioners; Extension of One Dafa Practitioner's Detention Term
Ms. Lan Jun and Ms. Yuan Zhongfen have been detained at Zunyi City Detention Center for almost two years. They have now been sent to Guizhou Province's Yang'ai Farm. Their family members were told they had been sentenced to six years of imprisonment, but they were not allowed to see their loved ones. The family members do not know which court pronounced the sentence.
Ms. Peng Jinping was sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment and was sent to a farm in Longli.
Ms. Wu Mingju, an excellent teacher from Guigang, was sentenced to three years of imprisonment, which had expired on July 11, 2003, but she was not released. It was said that her term was extended by four months.
[Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Unlawful Police Arrest Dafa Practitioner Li Baofen; Town's Politics and Security Committee Abetted the Police
On July 11, 2003, because she refused to write the "guarantee statement," Ms. Li Baofen, in her 60s, was illegally detained for brainwashing in Shenyang City by persons from Faku Town's Political and Security Committee and policemen from the local police precinct. Five or six lawless officials participated in this arrest, including Yang Guan and Zhang Kai from the Political and Security Committee. Since Li Baofen had gone to Beijing to appeal on July 20, 1999, they staked out her home to monitor the whole family. Her husband and son are Dafa practitioners also. The enforcers have several times forced them to write the "guarantee statement." These officials tracked Li Baofen even when she went to visit her mother.

Lu Weirong, female, 55 years old, was the former director of Anting Town "610 Office" in the Jiading District, Shanhai City. She used to instruct police to arrest Dafa practitioners and made use of all kinds of despicable means to persecute Dafa practitioners. She went to Dafa practitioners' work units, and forced unit leaders to exert pressure on Dafa practitioners. She held brainwashing classes and broke up Dafa practitioners' families. For determined Dafa practitioners, she enlisted the aid of their families to beat and scold them. If they still refused to give up the practice and cultivation, she would threaten practitioners that their family members would be fired. Furthermore, she tapped Dafa practitioners' home phones.
