Falun Gong practitioners are not the only victims of Jiang's persecution. Their parents, children and other relatives are also directly affected. The following are two such examples of young children being persecuted in Suizhong County, Huludao City, Liaoning Province.

  1. Chen Huanming and his wife Wei Yarong are from Yejia Village, Suizhong County. On August 3, 2003, they were arrested while clarifying the truth in Qianwei Town. Chen was sent to the notorious Huludao Labor Camp on August 8th and his wife is still detained at the Suizhong Detention Center.
  2. Their detention forced them to leave behind their eighty-four years old mother and three young children (the youngest is still in elementary school). The new semester is near but the three children are facing the possibility of quitting school because their parents are detained and they have no income.

On August 6th, the fourth day after their arrest, Qianwei Town and several surrounding towns experienced a hailstorm with egg-size hailstones. The crops were badly damaged.

  3. Ms. Tan, a sixteen-year-old girl, is from Tanzhangzi Village of Qiuzigou Township in Suizhong County. She is the most outstanding student at school. However, she was forced to quit school because she could not afford the tuition. She has to take care of her mother who has been sick for many years. The family cannot even pay the electricity bill. All of this is because her father Tan Deyu is a Falun Gong practitioner and he is being persecuted by Jiang's regime.

Tan Deyu is fifty-three years old. In May 2003, Mr. Tan was arrested and later sent to Huludao Labor Camp.

Mr. Tan used to be in poor health and could not take care of himself. After practicing Falun Gong, his diseases disappeared and fellow villagers witnessed his amazing recovery. Mr. Tan often says that it is Falun Dafa that gave him a second chance at life. Upon seeing his change, his daughter knows that Falun Dafa is good, and she helps her father to clarify the truth and save sentient beings.
