(Clearwisdom.net) August 2 report: news from Hunan Province - It has been confirmed that Dafa practitioner Ms. Hu Yuehui from Yueyang County was tortured to death at the Baimalong Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City. The exact time of her death requires further investigation. Hu Yuehui is the sixth Falun Gong practitioner tortured at the Baimalong Labor Camp who died from the results of torture.
The news source states that in late 2000, the 44-year-old Hu Yuehui was sentenced to two years of forced labor. She was sent to the Baimalong Labor Camp where she was brutally tortured. Fellow practitioners detained in the same labor camp often witnessed the atrocities. An article previously posted on Clearwisdom Net reveals the facts of her abuse (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2002/1/2/17349.html): The guards dragged Hu Yuehui to a detention room where they beat and kicked her. They shocked her body, including her breasts and private parts, with electric batons. They tortured her for a whole day until no intact skin could be found on her body. Blood spots and burn marks were all over her body. Her legs, mouth, face and eyes were swollen and covered with black and blue bruises.
The news source also says Hu Yuehui held a one-and-a-half year hunger strike to protest the persecution. During this time, the guards force-fed her and they intentionally left the feeding tube in her stomach for several days. Later, Hu Yuehui pulled out the tube herself. It was covered with blood. The labor camp didn't release her until she was on the verge of death. Hu Yuehui died soon after she returned home.
Recently, a journalist for the Falun Dafa Information Center talked to the head of the Baimalong Labor Camp (86-733-863-4800) who didn't reveal his name. He didn't deny Hu Yuehui's death, but he refused to talk about the fact that Hu Yuehui was brutally tortured.
The Baimalong Labor Camp is notorious for brutally torturing Falun Gong practitioners. The torture methods used by the labor camp guards include sleep deprivation, shocking with high-voltage electric batons, force-feeding with sharp bamboo tubes. They also send practitioners to mental institutions where they are forcibly injected with drugs that damage the central nervous system. News sources say Falun Gong practitioners Chen Chujun and Xia Ting from Huaihua County suffered severe memory loss because during their hunger strike they were injected with Thorazine* and other nerve-damaging drugs. Xia Ting can only remember simple things and has poor balance. She is now hunchbacked when walking and her shoulders are uneven.
Statistics show that up until now, at least six female Falun Gong practitioners including Hu Yuehui have died as a result of torture at the Baimalong Labor Camp. They are:
Dafa Practitioner Ms. Zuo Shuchun from Changsha City. She was in her 20's. Ms. Zuo held a hunger strike in March 2001 to protest the persecution. The guards at the labor camp used a long bamboo pipe, with one end cut sharp at an angle, to force-feed her. This was a terribly painful experience. She died from suffocation on the spot.
Dafa Practitioner Ms. Cao Jianzhen from Yuanjiang County persisted in Fa study and doing Dafa exercises in the spring of 2001. As a result, the guards shocked her with electric batons; they handcuffed her and beat and kicked her. She suffered three broken ribs and a general hemorrhage. She died soon after she was carried home.
The 43-year-old practitioner Ms. Chen Ouxiang from Pingjiang County was arrested on November 11, 2001 when appealing to the government. She was brutally tortured at the labor camp and died on October 26, 2002. Six black and blue marks were on her body at the time of her death.
* The psychotropic drug Thorazine (also known as Aminazin, Chlorpromazine, Largactil, Thorazine or Wintermin) is a strong tranquilizer that used in the treatment of psychiatric patients. Thorazine in particular can have powerful side effects, such as tardive dyskinesia (a serious, irreversible neurological disorder), tardive dementia (a global deterioration of her mind and mental faculties caused by the drugs), general dulling of awareness, emotional numbing, and cognitive dysfunction. Symptoms of tardive dyskinesia involve uncontrollable movement of various body parts, including the body trunk, legs, arms, fingers, mouth, lips, or tongue.
According to Amnesty International's medical advice, these drugs are not in themselves sinister. There are specific disorders for which they are prescribed, but they should be administered by qualified doctors, and their use monitored. In the light of cases of torture and ill-treatment of Falun Gong practitioners, and in the absence of evidence that they suffer from any psychiatric disorder, it is evident that the administration of such drugs are a punitive measure. In other words, Falun Gong practitioners have been inappropriately administered psychotropic drugs in order to punish them for their spiritual belief in Falun Gong.
