On the night of August 31, 2002, the "610 Office"* in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province instigated police from Zhentou Police Station to break into an apartment rented by Dafa practitioners at 1:00 am. They abducted Bai Yuzhi and some other practitioners who were forced to leave their homes due to the persecution. At that time, Ms. Bai refused to give her name, and police brutally beat her. Later, collaborators (former practitioners who have turned against Dafa under torture and brainwashing) recognized her and told the police.
Around September 1, 2002, police officer Luo at Yuqiang Police Station in Shijiazhuang City called Ms. Bai's family and lied to them, saying that Ms. Bai was detained in the Second Detention Center in Shijiazhuang City. He asked Bai's family to send her some clothing. When Bai's family arrived, to their surprise, they found Bai was detained at Yuqiang Police Station. Although only several days had passed, Bai was already severely tortured--she was swaying when walking, emaciated, and had bruises around her eyes.
At that time, Yuqiang Police Station wanted to send Bai to other places, but nobody dared to accept her after seeing the obvious signs of torture. Later, the police station connived with the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp and sent her there, assigned to Division 5. At the labor camp, the director of Division 5 asked many collaborators to abuse Bai both mentally and physically. To protest against the persecution, Ms. Bai went on a hunger strike for two months, during which she suffered greatly. The labor camp did not tell Bai's family about this. Instead, with lies and plots they tricked her into stopping the hunger strike. Only 10 days after Bai started to eat, the labor camp transferred her with unspecified charges.
In November 2002, Ms. Bai strongly demanded an attorney from the Yuhua District Court. The court then asked Bai's family to find an "eligible" lawyer within 10 days. Under the Jiang regime's order that "nobody should defend Falun Gong practitioners," there was not a single lawyer who dared to stand up and support justice. As a result, the efforts of Bai's family were in vain.
In December 2002, in the absence of any of Bai's family members, a "trial" was held in the forced labor camp. At that time, Bai's family did not even know where she was. In January 2003, they finally obtained the information that Bai was transferred to the Second Detention Center in Shijiazhuang. To appeal the persecution, Bai started a long hunger strike. In February 2003, Bai was once again in a life-threatening situation. Bai's family asked the court to let her out on parole for medical care. However, the court and the detention center both shirked their responsibilities, and would not allow any family members to visit her. Female officer Zhang Haiyan said that she would take the responsibility if Bai's life was in danger. Zhang also admitted force-feeding Bai every day (as a form of torture). In March 2003, Bai's family went to Du Xilai, the director of the Second Detention Center, strongly requesting to bail Bai out and report her situation to higher officials, but Du rudely refused.
Later, the court sentenced Bai to 5 years in prison with unspecified charges. Moreover, they did not notify her family.
In early May 2003, Bai began to spit blood, and she was in a life-threatening situation. But the Second Detention Center ignored that. On May 20, from Zhang Haiyan in the Second Detention Center, Bai's family learned that she was already transferred to the Second Prison in Shijiazhuang.
It is said that since Dafa disciple Bai Yuzhi was sent to the Second Prison in Shijiazhuang until now, she has been on hunger strike. Near death, her life is sustained by I.V. It is unknown if Bai is still alive.
