According to reliable sources, officers in police stations are ordered to accelerate their efforts to damage the truth clarification work of Dafa practitioners until August 20 and a quota has been given to each station. If the quota is not met, the income of the individual police will be reduced.

3. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Many Dafa Practitioners Are Arrested

Sources quoted Dafa practitioners who were arrested at the end of 2002, were again arrested in this January and March and sent to the Tangshan City's First Detention Center. Included are the following practitioners: Mr. An Zhenjie (released from the Hehuaken Forced Labor Camp), Mr. Zhang Yunping (released from the Textile University), Mr. Sun Jianzhong (released twice and sent home after going on hunger strikes twice), Ms. Guo Xiaohui (arrested in January 2003, to the first detention center and suffered inhuman torture and treatment). It was recently learned that Guo Xiaohui and An Zhengjie are going to be put on trial.

4. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Rooms Rented by Dafa practitioners at the Lianshan District Are Illegally Searched

At around 5 p.m. on July 14, 2003, some officers from the Bohai Street Office in Lianshan District went to the rooms on the fifth floor rented by Dafa practitioners and tried to break in to arrest them. After the door lock was damaged, the officers still could not get in, and they had to leave. Later they lifted people to the room with a crane, and through a window took away items including computer monitors, tables, etc. Even several pairs of shoes were taken.

5. [Shanghai] The City "610 Office" and the Women's Forced Labor Camps Are Plotting to Make Use of Collaborators to Damage Dafa

According to reliable sources, the "610 Office" [a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches] in Shanghai, colluded with the Women's Forced Labor Camp, to release some collaborators [former Falun Dafa practitioners who have given up their practice under severe pressure and torture and now assist the authorities in the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners] into society. They will be paid by the "610 Office" to collect Dafa practitioners' information and try to stir up trouble among Dafa practitioners.

6. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Female Dafa Practitioner Yan Xiaozhuan from the Fengrun District Is Sentenced to Two Years in a Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Yan Xiaozhuan is 32 years old. On May 16, 2003, she was abducted on a road by police officers from the Fengrun District and sent to the Tangshan City's First Detention Center. After being detained for one month, the camp lied to her by saying: leave your signature here and you will be released. But after Yan signed, she was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp. She is in the First Women's Forced Labor Camp of the Hebei Province, which is located in the Kaiping District, Tangshan City.

7. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Two Middle Schools Put Materials Defaming Dafa on Final Tests

According to two children of a Dafa practitioner, two middle schools in Guangzhou City put material slandering Dafa in their final reviews and tests (including the case in which a murderer of beggars was used to frame Dafa and Dafa practitioners). Students are forced to memorize the materials and they are among the test questions. It's believed that the Education Department in Guangzhou City ordered the middle schools to do this.

8. [Shangyang County, Hubei Province] About Three Hundred Dafa Practitioners Are Detained at the Qilihu Forced Labor Camp

The Qilihu Forced Labor Camp is now detaining about 300 Dafa practitioners. Officers involved in persecuting Dafa practitioners include:

Yang Min (Brigade Head), Wang Qin, Liu Qin, Pang Hong from the Second Brigade. Ou Yang (the Head of the 9th Brigade). The Third Brigade is focused on persecuting male Dafa practitioners.

9. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zhao Xihua Is Arrested Many Times and Sent to a Brainwashing Center

Mr. Zhao Xihua is an employee at the High-Speed Steel Material Division of Tangshan Steel Mill. In November 2002, he was arrested for delivering Dafa truth materials and was detained at the First Detention Center in Tangshan City. Since he would not give up his belief in Dafa, police officers forced him to sit on an iron chair for 7 days and nights which caused swelling of his lower body. He suffered endless torture during the several months of detention. In May 2003, the detention center forced his family to pay 2,000 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan] before they would release him and send him back to his work unit. But he was sent to the brainwashing center at the Tangshan Textile University. He went on a hunger strike for 40 days to protest the illegal detention. Zhu Lianxi, the Communist Party Secretary at High-Speed Steel Material Division, and the guards at the brainwashing center injected Zhao with a drug. In June 2003, Zhao's blood pressure dropped rapidly, and he showed symptoms of hematuria (blood in his urine) and kidney failure. To avoid possible responsibility, the brainwashing center sent him back to his work unit and was he monitored 24 hours a day. When he got slightly better, he was sent back to the brainwashing center and there he remains.

10. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Determined Dafa Practitioners Are Tortured at Kaiping Forced Labor Camp

Torture methods include punching, kicking, striking the face with fists, shocking with electric batons, and outdoor detention. Female practitioners were detained in dog kennels and forced to stand for a long time until their feet swelled.

Dafa practitioners suffering torture include: Ms. Wang Minghong, Ms. Li Yingjie, Ms. Li Ruiyun, Ms. Tian Li, Ms. Duan Jinjin, Ms. Cui Yanqiu, Ms. Wang Yuchuan, Ms. Fu Shuying, Ms. Wang Fang.

Police officers taking part in the torturing include:

Wang Yan, Ge Yamin, Zhou Junming, Yang Haifeng, Li Yuru, Yan Hongli, Wang Wenping, Jia Xiumei.

11. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Dafa Practitioner Ms. Yu Zhen Is Illegally Arrested by Police and Fined

Ms. Yu Zhen 74, lives in Donghuaji Village, Yangshu Township, Dehui City. On July 15, 2003, she delivered Dafa truth materials to her daughter's home in the Huanghua Village, Shanghewan Township, Jiutai City, and was reported. Police from the Shanghewan Police station arrested her, and then went to her home, broke into her suitcase and boxes to take away all her Dafa books. On the way to Jiutai Detention Center, her daughter's neighbor met them and asked the police to release her. She was released after being fined 2,200 Yuan by the Shanghewan police station.

12. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] The Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp Accelerates the Persecution of Determined Dafa Practitioners

Many Dafa practitioners are now detained in Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. During the July 20 period they resisted persecution together by refusing to wear the criminal's uniforms, refusing to acknowledge that they had committed crimes, and refusing to work. The camp escalated the persecution of determined Dafa practitioners by not allowing their families to visit. Other details are unknown.

13. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Dafa Practitioner Ms. Zhang Cuiyun Is Persecuted by the City Public Security Bureau and the Oil Pipeline Management Bureau

Ms. Zhang Cuiyun is 48 years old and lives in the Xinxiang City Oil Pipeline Management Bureau.

On June 4, 2003, police from Dongming County, Shandong Province broke into Zhang's home to arrest her. Since Zhang was not at home, police from Shandong and Xinxiang City and the security guards of Zhang's employer monitored her home day and night, and harassed her family. Police also forced her husband to go and look for her, otherwise his job would be suspended. Zhang is unable to return home and take care of her family, including her teenager. Her husband is being pressured from various sides, and also needs to take care of their child.

Units taking part in the persecution include: police officers from the Public Security Bureau in Dongming County, Shandong Province, the Xinxiang City, and the Hongqi Public Security Bureau Branch, and the Security Section of her workplace.

14. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioners Chen Jixiang and Liu Xicai Are Arrested and Sent to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center

Just before 6 a.m. on July 14, 2003, the Xinbing County political and judiciary committee, police officers from the Yonglin Police Station directed by the head Song Junlin arrested Dafa practitioners Mr. Chen Jixiang and Liu Xicai. From the police station, they were instantly sent to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in the Fushun City. Their current situation is unknown.

15. [Harbin, Heilongjiang Province] Dafa Practitioners Zhang Fengzhi and Sun Lu Are Arrested by Police from Daowai District, and Are Sentenced to Three Years in a Forced Labor Camp

On April 1, 2002, Ms. Sun Fengzhi was arrested at her vendor's stand by police from the Daowai District for no reason, and then detained at the Harbin Detention Center. Three months later, she was sentenced to three years in Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. Her stand and home were searched.

In 2002, Ms. Sun Lu was also arrested at her vendor's stand, and sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp. She was tortured and brainwashed. She was repeatedly forced to sit on steel chairs, which caused a gynecological disease. Instead of being treated for the disease, she was brainwashed and handcuffed from behind, then hung up by her hands standing on tiptoe.

16. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Two Male Dafa Practitioners Arrested by Police

On July 26, 2003, two male Dafa practitioners went to Jiang Yuntian's home for the weekend, but were arrested by police officers hiding inside. When a relative called, the police answered. Police officers also brought that practitioner to search his relative's home, but found nothing. There has been no news from the two practitioners.

17. [Tianjin City] Three Dafa Practitioners Arrested and Sent to Forced Labor Camps

On May 21, 2003, Dafa practitioners Ms. Zhao Zhiyan, and Mr. Zhang Shouzhong were illegally arrested and sent to a forced labor camp. One month ago, Ms. Cong Peiying was also arrested and sent to a forced labor camp.

18. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Furong Street Office Colludes with Police Officers to Have Dafa Practitioner Yu Lili Arrested and Detained

The Furong Street Office hired two old men to tear down Dafa stickers and banners. May 13, 2003 was the 11th anniversary of Master Li's introduction of Dafa. There were banners celebrating the 11th anniversary on trees in Furong Street. As the two old men were trying to remove the banners with a hook, they were joined by another called Du.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Yu Lili saw some banners on the ground so she picked them up on her way home. Then Du asked Cui to run after Yu. After he caught up to her, he seized the banners, and threatened to send Yu to the street office. Yu Lili escaped with the help of kind bystanders. The two old men and Du also reported Yu to the 110 patrol police, so police officers went to Yu's home three times but did not find her. Several days later, out of kindness, Yu went to clarify the truth to the two old men, but the two thought Yu was seeking revenge and reported her to the police.

The next day, the Chengguan Police Station arrested Yu and detained her for 15 days, and extorted 600 Yuan from Yu's family. After the 15-day detention, Yu was sent to the Industrial Cadre School, and has not been released. Many Dafa practitioners are still detained at the Industrial Cadre School.
