Facts of the Persecution

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen, Ms. Li, and Li Bingnan have been abducted by police in April 2003, and were later detained in Pi County Detention Center in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. Ms. Chen was suspended in the air for thirteen days straight. Ms. Li was handcuffed to a bench, while police stomped on her body with leather boots and whipped her with a wet towel relentlessly. This caused her body to have extravasated blood all over, and it caused her mouth to fester.

More than forty Falun Dafa practitioners in Changchun City, Jilin Province were abducted during February-March, 2003, mainly by police from the Chaoyang District Police Station. Police also abducted Falun Dafa practitioners' non-practitioner family members and took them to the station, even physically abusing them. They extorted a lot of personal property and money from Falun Dafa practitioners' families. Some of their family members have had several tens of thousands of Yuan extorted from them. [The average monthly salary for an urban worker is 500 Yuan]

The following is an excerpt of the article "Ways of Clarifying the Truth."

We should be kind and polite to people around us, considerate to their situations, helpful in resolving their difficulties, and should conduct ourselves as good people according to Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. Once others know that you are a good person, clarifying the truth will be easier. We can always carry some truth clarifying materials on us, so that we can post them when the opportunity arises. At the same time, do not forget to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil factors behind whoever takes the truth materials home so that he can truly see the facts. I suggest that all fellow practitioners take the initiative to call, write or tell your friends and family the facts of the persecution. With our persistence and sincerity everyone will eventually understand the facts about Falun Gong.

Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions

The following is an excerpt from the article "My Illnesses Were All Gone After Cultivating Dafa, and My Whole Family Has Benefited from Dafa."

The five of us in my family have all benefited since I obtained the Fa in October 1998. I took my wife to watch the Fa-Lecture videos in a fellow practitioner's home. On the fourth evening, my wife's chronic gynecological problem unexpectedly disappeared. After two months, four of her molars, which had been decayed for many years such that she could not chew on hard food, and her stomach disease, kidney problems, skin conditions and many other painful ailments all disappeared without any medicine. She was excited beyond description. Later, my 14 and 7-year-old daughters and my very weak elderly mother all started cultivation. Many of their sicknesses have disappeared completely. The four of us went to Beijing to appeal on the evening of July 22, 1999 together with several other fellow practitioners. We were blocked on the way and sent back home by police. We have been closely watched ever since then and sent to brainwashing classes many times. I was sentenced to labor camp for 18 months, and endured severe mental and physical torture, such as being tied on the Tiger Bench* for four days straight, being deprived of sleep for long periods of time, and being forced to watch programs slandering Falun Dafa, etc.

*The Tiger Bench is a small iron bench that is approximately 20 cm [6 inches] tall, which practitioners are forced to sit on with their knees tied together. With their hands tied behind their backs or sometimes placed on their knees, they are forced to sit straight up and look straight ahead. They are not allowed to turn their heads, close their eyes, talk to anyone or move at all. Several inmates are assigned to watch over the practitioners and force themá to remain motionless while sitting on the bench. Usually some hard objects are inserted underneath the practitioners' lower legs or ankles to make it harder for them to tolerate this abuse (see illustration on http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2001/11/24/16156.html).

The Truth and People's Hearts

The following is an excerpt of the article "My Life Used to Feel Painfully Long and Drawn Out, But Miracles Happened After Cultivating Dafa."

I have been weak and sickly since a young age. I truly experienced a light feeling without sickness after beginning to cultivate Falun Dafa in August 1995. One evening in November 1997, I was hit by a speeding car and flung more than ten meters. I immediately thought, "I am a Falun Dafa cultivator, nothing will happen to me." With this one thought, I came back to life again after I had stopped breathing. The people surrounding me were shocked, because they thought I had died. Afraid of being held responsible, the driver drove away and escaped. Some one tried to chase him, but I let him escape. I took a taxi to the hospital, but there were no anesthetics available at that hour. I let the doctor sew up my wounds without any drugs. The doctor was very nervous. He gave a sigh after he finished and said, "You are so strong! How come you do not fear the pain?" I told him, "I felt no pain at all, because I practice Falun Gong. My Master was protecting me." After July 20, 1999, we, who have benefited from Dafa, began our long and hard journey to help our Master in Fa-rectification. I was arrested many times, four times detained, and twice sent to a labor camp. I have been tortured with long periods of standing, handcuffs and ankle shackles, physical abuse, deprivation of sleep for long periods of time, etc. All these did not shake my firm belief in Dafa. People of the world, please awaken quickly! We do not fear jail, being beaten or tortured, or losing our jobs, and we do not seek any rewards. All we want is to help you see the truth, so that you can have a beautiful future.

News from China

As reported by Time Asia and other overseas media, the SARS data has been decreasing from the beginning of May, ever since China started to use its own definition and standard for identifying SARS. Foreigners have many doubts and misgivings. One doctor from Mainland China told TimeAsia Online, "Chinese SARS data after May is untrustworthy." The reason is China has a category for "observation patients." He said, "You can see that since May 11, the observation patients are equal to what foreigners refer to as doubtful patients, and Chinese doubtful patients are equal to foreigners confirmed SARS patients. As for Chinese confirmed patients, they used the standard of 'proven that they have contaminated others before.' Now they use the new standard of 'trying to reduce the numbers as much as possible.'"
