Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions

There is a family in Northeast China. From the 80-year-old grandmother to the teenage grandchildren, all of them are practicing Falun Dafa. On one occasion, the family left the youngest child to take care of the house, while the rest of the seven to eight member family, which span three generations, went to Beijing to validate the Fa. Police were checking personal IDs on the train, and the old grandmother told them, "I do not have an ID with me." Later, the police arrested all of them, and locked them in the local detention center. Lead by the grandmother, they went on hunger strike together to protest. Soon the several dozen Falun Dafa practitioners detained there all went on hunger strike. The police had to release all of the practitioners three days later.

Practitioners Exchange Insights

The following is an excerpt from the article "Remember 'Look at Things with Righteous Thoughts (New Articles, March 8, 2002)' All the Time."

At the beginning of this year, the evil police found out I was a practitioner while I was clarifying the truth to people, so I had to become destitute and homeless in order to avoid being unjustly arrested at home. Because I still had hope in ordinary people, and felt I was bothering fellow practitioners by staying in their homes, I took a risk and went back home. The next day I went back to work and clarified the truth patiently. But my employer ordered me viciously, "You have to write a guarantee to not practice within two days, otherwise you will be arrested." I decided to not cooperate with the evil. As soon as this righteous thought emerged, I walked out of the company's gate openly and in a dignified manner. Although I met with some interference, I got rid of the evil. I enlightened that no matter how hard the situation is, we have to deter interference from human notions ("Look at Things with Righteous Thoughts," New Articles, March 8, 2002)."

Truth and People's Hearts

The following is an excerpt from the article "People of the World Who Have Learned the Truth."

There is a tricycle taxi driver [a person who drives a small three-wheel motor cycle, which has a cover and can carry passengers] in Huanren County, Liaoning Province who accepted 30 Yuan from the evil gang to erase the words "Falun Dafa is Good" painted on telephone poles. Several days later, he had an accident with another vehicle and had to pay 1,000 Yuan to the people he injured. Finally when he met with a Dafa practitioner who clarified the truth to him, he realized the situation, and said, "I will never again do such a virtueless deed, no matter how much money they give me."

The Truth of the Persecution

The Masanjia Labor Camp treats newly arrived Falun Dafa practitioners with "Tight Monitoring" [two prisoners watch one practitioner all the time], puts them in isolated cells, forces them to write the "Three Statements" [proof that practitioners have given up their belief. Created by the "610 Office," the three statements consist of a letter of repentance, a guarantee to never again practice Falun Gong, and a list of names and addresses of all family members, friends and acquaintances who are practitioners], and deprives them of basic rights and freedoms, such as prohibiting them from having visitations or speaking, as well as being subjected to close monitoring. For Falun Dafa practitioners who refuse to give up their belief after long periods of time, the police curse them, prohibit them from sleeping, punish them with long periods of half-sitting, pinch and beat them, shock them with electric batons, and other torture. But the police's cruel torture cannot change cultivators' hearts. Many practitioners were forced to give up Dafa in the past, but after reading Master's new articles, they all declared solemnly that they would return to cultivation.

A math Teacher in Jilin University, Changchun City, Jilin Province, Wang Hui, went to Beijing to appeal on July 22, 1999. After fifteen days of detention, he was illegally sent to a labor camp for one year. He was later let out on parole because he needed medical treatment for his kidney problem. During July-August 2000, Wang Hui went to Beijing again to validate the Fa. He was arrested and brought back to the Changchun City Labor Camp, where he endured endless torture. He was released in the fall of 2001. In the large-scale arrests of March 2003, Wang Hui was arrested without reason, and unjustly sentenced to two years in a labor camp. Now he is being detained in the Chaoyanggou Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province. He has endured numerous kinds of torture, such as being shocked with an electric baton, being subjected to "Riding an Airplane" [In this torture, the head is bent down until it cannot go down any further, while the hands and arms are pulled up and held up to the highest point. The hips have to point straight up. One is forced to keep this position unchanged for a long time. The body in this position looks like the shape of an airplane], and being prohibited from sleeping.

Before "the 2 congressional meetings," vicious police in Daqing prison used inhuman torture methods on firmly cultivating Dafa practitioners in order to force them to give up their faith. Many practitioners' bodies are very weak. Practitioner Zhu Hongbing still has a wound that has not healed. Practitioner Zhang Xinye's family went through a lot of trouble so that they could visit him. When they finally saw him, two other prisoners had to help him walk out of his prison cell. Some prisons used cruel torture that might have resulted in the death of Falun Dafa practitioner Yu Yongquan (died on March 8, 2003, see http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2003/3/14/33299.html).

Police in Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province tricked Falun Dafa practitioners Wang Junfeng and Lei Wenxia into having a talk with them at the police station. The practitioners were then taken into custody and illegally sent to the Gaoyang Labor Camp. On March 15, 2003, Police in Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Xu Tao at his home and took him to the Xuanhua Detention Center. There are still more than ten Falun Dafa practitioners being illegally detained in a police station in Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province.

News and Activities around the World

On the evening of March 20, 2003, from 6-8 p.m., some Falun Dafa practitioners in Michigan, U.S.A. held a press conference and Candlelight Vigil in front of the Southfield City Hall, calling for help to urgently rescue illegally detained Falun Dafa practitioner and American citizen Charles Li.
