I had to become destitute and homeless in order to avoid being unjustly arrested at home, because I firmly cultivate Dafa. Many of my friends and family members do not understand me. Clarifying the truth to them is difficult because they have been subjected to persecution themselves because of me. As a result, some of them avoid me, push me around, scold me, or beg me to stop practicing. One relative let me stay in her home. To clear up her misunderstandings, I told her how practicing Dafa has helped me become healthier, and I told her that it is not a crime to be a good person. Eventually I told her all about the persecution of practitioners by Jiang and his regime, and about their shameful lies.

Facts of the Persecution

After July 20, 1999 when Jiang started persecuting Falun Dafa, and I have since then been persecuted on many occasions. Once I picked up a wallet on the street, and brought it to the police, but the officers all laughed at me. They made up a lie, saying that I had gone insane because I practiced Falun Gong and that I wished to make some money out of this lie. They sent journalists to my home, but my family told them that I was doing very well and that I was quite normal, so their plan failed. On April 25, 2001, I went to Beijing to validate the Fa, and later that day I was hung in the air and beaten by the police until I passed out. The police sentenced me to three years of labor camp, and my family had to pay more than 40 thousand Yuan [Average monthly salary of an urban worker is 500 Yuan] in total. I have suffered through all sorts of torture in the labor camp. Later I walked out of that evil den, and have become destitute and homeless for almost the past two years in order to avoid being unjustly arrested again.

Falun Dafa practitioner Luo Zhihui from Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province has been unjustly jailed in labor camp three times by police from Xili Station of Shijiazhuang City. Political Security Section Chief Xi Mingjie of Qilihe District Police Station, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province is a criminal that always follows Jiang and his scoundrel gang. Countless Falun Dafa practitioners have been arrested by him. On February 21, 2003, he arrested 72-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang Juxiu and sent her to the Gongjiawan brainwashing class. Falun Dafa practitioners Kang Xihua, Wei Xiuzhen, Medical Doctor Tan, Jin Yuqiang, and Gao Jun have also been arrested by the police.

Former Team Leader Li Yong of the No.1 team of the Shijiazhuang City Labor Camp, Hebei Province is now Team Leader of the No.4 team in the same forced labor camp. He leads policemen Han, Yin Hanjiang, Wang Xiaofeng, and others in rampantly persecuting Dafa practitioners. They have used sticks, electric batons, ropes, and handcuffs to torture Dafa practitioners and keep them from sleeping. Falun Dafa practitioner Liu Tao was pushed out from the building's fifth floor, and practitioner Liu Jianming was tortured so much that he had a mental collapse. One of Falun Dafa practitioner Wu Jianqiang's kidneys was damaged, and he bedridden in the hospital for several months.

The Truth and People's Hearts

My wife and I are both Falun Dafa practitioners. Since July 1999, the town government has conducted several rounds of illegal detention, fining, and close monitoring of practitioners. On December 30, 2000, many Falun Dafa practitioners have been arrested. One person who monitored us told us, "This is a nation-wide action to arrest all of you. Because orders from the top said that tomorrow is New Year's Day, Falun Gong will have a self-immolation, and there will be a large number of suicides. If you read tomorrow's newspapers, you will see the reports." Later I saw the TV report of the self-immolation and suddenly realized that it was a drama that Jiang put on to deceive the people of the world.

I used to be a person struggling on the border between life and death. I had a chronic kidney disease, heart disease, osteophytosis on my neck and lower spine, forehead and even on the tops of my feet. I experienced pain all over my body that was beyond the limits of endurance. I could never leave the heat stove in the winter, and I had to wear cotton-stuffed shoes in the summer. I had to use a hot water warmer to warm my legs in the summer. My legs had been swollen for the past twenty years. I had been living a life worse than death. My relatives introduced me to Zhuan Falun. I read it twenty times from beginning to end. Without realizing it, all of my sicknesses disappeared. I felt that my whole body was very light, and I felt great.

I obtained the Fa through my boyfriend in March 2002. I have been cultivating for one year now. I have not been sick since cultivating Dafa, and have never had to take even a single pill. Because of Jiang's paranoia and jealousy, he has persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners. I hope that one day we can practice Falun Dafa in the park openly, instead practicing at home.

If there are two ways of dying for you to choose from, I wonder which way people would find worse? One is to be bombed, the other is to be tortured, such as being force-fed chili pepper solutions, force-fed highly condensed salt solutions, having your fingertips poked with needles, being shocked in the mouth with an electric baton, being force-fed feces and urine, being prohibited from sleeping, and then being tortured to death. The number of lives that have been lost in countries that abuse human rights far surpasses by many times the lives lost in the Persian Golf War and this War in Iraq. Those people are being persecuted only because they hold to their beliefs firmly in their hearts. When people walk on the street holding a banner opposing the war, shouldn't they also stand up to oppose this severe persecution and denial of human rights? Ignorance towards those murderers who disregard human rights is also unwittingly aiding in the killing. If we say war hurts people, then the abuse of human rights is even more unfortunate, because nothing is more terrifying than damaging and destroying the human spirit.
