According to a report from the BBC on March 19, 2003, the European Union again expressed their concerns about human rights in China. Various Foreign Affairs Ministers from the European Union held a meeting in Brussels to show their concern for human rights in China and collectively declare that they will mention this issue in the 59th annual meeting of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights.

The European Union indicated on Tuesday that the EU will express their concerns about the condition of Human Rights in China at the Human Rights Conference currently being held in the United Nations.
The RFA reported that Foreign Affairs Ministers from the EU have agreed to request the Human Rights Conference to pay attention to the issues of cruel torture, death sentences, Tibet, Xinjiang, and the persecution on Falun Gong.
