I had an excellent time in Hong Kong, the best Fa experience yet!áApart from the conference and meeting more of the 'family', apart from the wonderful parade where so many hearts joined together in a line of gold, apart from standing outside the Mainland Chinese headquarters and delivering that precious envelope, apart from all these things, the last day that I spent in Hong Kong was the best.

A fellow Australian and I planned to go to Wan Chai to a computer store and buy some electronic equipment before we departed for Australia that evening at 8pm. We arrived at the store at around 10am, but all the shops were closed until 12 noon, so we decided to go downstairs to a big fast food restaurant for breakfast while we waited.

It wasn't too busy and we picked a table by the wall, which was fairly cramped. The manager, a Chinese gentleman, apologized for the cramped position of the chairs and table and tried to give us more room. We thanked him and told him we were fine.áWe started our breakfast and when we were finished, my fellow practitioner picked up a newspaper to see if our march the preceding day had made it into the news.áThe first English paper had nothing.áThe second paper was Chinese.áWe went through every page and finally found a small photo near the end.áWhile we were searching, I asked the manager if he knew where the Australian Embassy was, as I thought we might go there and hand out flyers while we were waiting.áHe made a couple of phone calls and gave me the number and the address. He was very helpful.

I asked him if he would translate something for us, pointing to the picture of the Falun Dafa march in the Chinese newspaper.áMy intention was to clarify the truth to him by getting him to read the article. He started to translate. The article was mainly trying to justify the decision that was made by the airport authorities to turn away 70 Taiwanese Falun Gong practitioners. He started to explain to us, not realizing we were practitioners, that it was all about a protest that Falun Gong was having on the weekend, and that they were against this Article 23. He expressed that he felt it was a good thing for the country.

I explained to him my understanding of Article 23, that it would actually be very detrimental to his country and to all Chinese around the world.áHe didn't want to hear it, as he had been truly brainwashed by the propaganda. As he spoke to me, his voice got louder and he started to spit. His energy had changed from being a helpful professional, to being an angry man. I put my hand up briefly in the position of righteous thoughts, to let my fellow practitioner know to join me in righteous thoughts while he ranted on. I kept looking in his eyes. I felt great compassion for him and sent that energy out as strongly as I could. I kept nodding and smiling and gave him no resistance and he slowly calmed down.

He then pointed at my Falun Dafa badge and asked me how long I had been practicing and why. I knew that this was my precious opportunity to clarify the truth to him. I told him that I had suffered from Crohn's Disease all my life, 42 years, and had had many operations and medications to keep it under control. Crohn's Disease is a creeping ulceration of the intestine, which gives much pain. The bowel ulcerates and then bleeds.áOperations are necessary to remove sections of the bowel before it perforates and there is a risk that you can die of toxic poisoning within hours, so steroids were always prescribed. It was 'an incurable disease,' as far as the western doctors were concerned.á Two and a half years ago, I had another attack and started bleeding from the bowel yet again. I arranged an appointment with my gastroenterologist and was seeing him in three weeks for either more surgery and/or steroid treatment.

I met a young woman at work, and we had excellent conversations. At the end of our four days working together, she gave me Zhuan Falun to read.á7 days after I had started reading, all the bleeding stopped.á7 days after I learned the exercises, all the pain went away. I was amazed. After 3 months I knew that I would be practicing for the rest of my life!

I told my story quietly, slowly and watched his face change. At the end of sharing my experience with him, he said that my story was amazing and that maybe he should read the book! I tried to keep myself from jumping up and hugging him! He sat down in the chair next to me and we three shared more. I cannot express to you how wonderful this moment was. Seeing such a heart so wrapped up in anger, come out of the black fog and shine like gold. He wanted to take us to lunch, then sightseeing -- he didn't want to let us go!!

We gently declined and exchanged email addresses.áWe got up and we shook hands with both hands, firmly, strongly and I felt so much truth and compassion in that moment.

This experience has taught me that even when faced with such opposition, if you have "Zhen, Shan, Ren" in your heart there is always the opportunity to help the misguided see the truth and shine the light of the Fa into their hearts.

Take care and write again soon!

Kindest regards,
