The following are two songs created by British practitioners to rescue Bao-Lian and Yongjie, who were both detained in China because of their belief in Falun Gong.

Bao-Lian

Bao-Lian Zhu, 36, is the sister of a London practitioner, Bao-Sheng Zhu. She started practicing Falun Dafa in 1994. After beginning to practice Falun Gong, she not only regained physical health but also became more energetic and a kinder person.

On December 15th, 2000, Bao-Lian was illegally imprisoned because she was caught handing out Dafa fliers. She was sentenced to four years in prison.

Bao-Lian's brother, Bao-sheng, recalled her firm belief in Dafa. He commented that nothing would discourage her from safeguarding truth.

In the activities to rescue Falun Gong relatives persecuted in China, practitioners composed the song, "How are you, Bao-Lian?" The song was dedicated to Bao-Lian and all the imprisoned practitioners in China.

Yongjie

Yongjie and Weiguo grew up together in Urumgi, Xinjiang province and fell in love at an early age.

At the age of 29, Yongjie graduated from Shanghai University and began her employment at the Tsinghua Tongfang Company. At the time, Weiguo was one of the outstanding students in Tsinghua University.

In 1994 and 1995, Weiguo and Yongjie, still in college, started practicing Falun Dafa.

In 1999, Weiguo headed to the UK to pursue a Ph.D. The young couple was temporarily separated prior to their planned marriage.

At the time when Weiguo was receiving his Ph.D., he heard news that his fiancée was arrested in Beijing because of her practise of Falun Gong. To date, her whereabouts are unknown.

When others offered a toast to congratulate Weiguo on his doctorate, he had only one wish: "All kind people and governments, please help urge the Chinese authorities to release my fiancée Yongjie."

The following song and accompanying dance were dedicated to Yongjie.

Predestined relationships spanning endless lifetimes
Each connected by the thread of Dafa
Foreign studies separated the couple temporarily
Moonlight reminded me of my loved one though thousands of miles away

Bearing Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in mind
We are spiritually close to each other
Wait until the melting of ice and snow
You and I will see each other again.
