Wang Fengwei (female), 40 years old, a Dafa practitioner from Xin County, Shandong Province, was persecuted to death on November 30, 2002 at the local detention center.
In order to validate Dafa, after July 20, 1999 Wang Fengwei went to Beijing many times to appeal and explain to people the facts about Dafa. After the police captured her in Tiananmen Square, she unfurled her banner through the window of the police car and called out to the onlookers, "Falun Dafa is good"; her voice shook their hearts. In order to campaign for justice and validate Dafa, she persevered with her rounds to all the local police stations, government offices, main streets and small alleys to awaken people's hearts and conscience. She was illegally detained many times, and many times she broke out of the evil's den using righteous thoughts. Eventually she was forced to give up her comfortable life and leave home to escape persecution. She had to sleep on wood logs or bales of hay, under leaves, and outside in ice and snow.
In May 2001, four practitioners including Wang Fengwei and Zhang Zhenzhong went to the Yue Fei Temple in Tangyin County, Henan Province to clarify the truth. However, the police found out. Over a dozen policemen surrounded them like a pack of wolves. Wang Fengwei and her fellow practitioners joined arms and formed one body. Their clothes were torn by the police, and under their feet their blood stained the soil red. The police could not separate them and finally sent for a team of combat police. The policemen furiously beat the practitioners' chests, faces, eyes and the back of their heads; they passed out time and again. Wang Fengwei's face was swollen from the beating, her eyes was swollen so much that she could not open one of her eyes. Finally the police forcibly tied them up, carried them into the police car and threw them in jail (in the same month, Zhang Zhenzhong was persecuted to death there, please see related report at: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2001/10/18/14792.html).
During those dark few days, Wang Fengwei recited Master Li's articles continuously; the strong willpower that she had cultivated from Dafa frightened the evil. Everyone present witnessed the mighty virtue and dignity of Dafa through her. Teacher instructed us to face the vicious people with righteous minds and not to succumb to the evil's demands, orders, or directives under any circumstances. Wang Fengwei put it into practice with her actions, and used her life to fulfill her oath to safeguard Dafa. The pictures that the police took showed her being severely tortured, and lying on the ground without shoes.
The evil people repeatedly punched, kicked, used electric batons and plastic rods to beat her, used ropes to tightly tie her hands behind her back, and tortured her with the "Tiger Bench." [Practitioners are forced to sit on a small iron bench that is approximately 20 cm (6 inches) tall with their knees tied together. With their hands tied behind their backs or sometimes placed on their knees, they are forced to sit straight up and look straight ahead. They are not allowed to turn their heads, close their eyes, talk to anyone or move at all. Several inmates are assigned to watch over the practitioners and force them to remain motionless while sitting on the bench. Usually some hard objects are inserted underneath the practitioners' lower legs or ankles to make it harder for them to tolerate this abuse (see illustration on http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2001/11/24/16156.html)]
Wang Fengwei passed out time after time. However, every time she woke up, she wasted no time, and clarified the truth to the people around her. She told them that before her cultivation, she was in the terminal stage of liver disease with ascitis, and the hospital had refused to take her. In 1997 she was fortunate enough to obtain Dafa and regained her health. She told them about compassion, and the true principles and teachings of Dafa, with her frail voice using her own experience, and told them the facts about the unjust persecution she'd received. Inmates surrounded her and were in tears. Many of the inmates serving criminal sentences were furious about Jiang using his monopoly on TV and the media to deceive the Chinese citizens; they sympathized with the good people practicing Falun Gong, who were being brutally persecuted. They said that when they got out, they would tell their friends and family about the facts.
After 18 days on hunger strike, Wang Fengwei was transferred to Xin County Detention Center. She was emaciated and on the verge of death. The Xin County police was afraid of taking responsibility, so they sent her to a forced labor camp. The Zibo Forced Labor Camp refused to take her. Eventually, the Xin County police bribed them with 3000 Yuan before they reluctantly accepted her. She was in a precarious condition, and they released her after 13 days.
In 2001, Wang Fengwei and other practitioners were captured while hanging up banners and received even more torture while in prison. She went on a hunger strike to protest her illegal arrest, and her health again reached a precarious state. She was sent to the hospital, but broke away using righteous thoughts, though the police still constantly monitored her.
In the first month of the lunar year in 2002, Wang Fengwei and two other practitioners were hanging banners and were captured again. This was her seventh time in prison, and her only "crime" was telling people that "Falun Dafa is good!" The evil people were terrified to see her, a cultivator of a righteous Fa, as if confronted with an army. They took away all the money she had with her, 1200 Yuan, shackled her on a wooden board with her legs spread apart, and did not allow her to use the toilet. She was inhumanely tortured for a long time. A non-practitioner was locked up with her, and when this person came out, she told another Dafa practitioner how good Wang Fengwei was to her, and how Wang Fengwei cared about others. She saw with her own eyes how Wang Fengwei was severely tortured. Her body was extremely weak, and she could not manage to go to the toilet by herself. But the evil people did not care if she died or lived, and continued to shackle her for an extended period of time. If they saw her persist in doing the Falun Gong exercises, the police hit her face in an attempt to force her to give up her belief in Dafa. But she told them, "I firmly believe in Dafa."
Eventually, the Xin County Police Department tried to send her to places like Zibo City in Shandong Province and some cities in Heilongjiang Province. But none of the forced labor camps would take her. Under these circumstances, they ended up shutting her in a small dark, damp, and cold room in Xin County Detention Center. Even the day before she passed away, Xin County police still attempted to push away responsibility by asking people to complete the bail process for her. After she was persecuted to death, vicious people in Xin County threatened her family, demanding they not tell anyone and strictly blocking the news.
Yet another good and innocent life was murdered, and this persecution of Falun Dafa and Dafa practitioners in China is still continuing. We urge the international community and people with a sense of justice to learn the truth about Falun Dafa, and to please do all you can to help end this on-going brutal persecution in China as soon as possible.
