(Clearwisdom.Net) I traveled to Beijing to validate Dafa in October 2000. After I was arrested, I was escorted back to my hometown and subsequently sentenced to two years in a labor camp.
In the Women's Team of my local labor camp, the wicked police took advantage of the power in their hands to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners, using the most obscene and malicious ways. Not only have practitioners suffered all kinds of cruel tortures, but they are also bearing the cruel brainwashing organized by the "610 office" system as well as the so-called 'transformation help' from former practitioners who have gone astray and collaborated with the evil. That is truly a place that is full of evil factors.
The first thing that I encountered in the labor camp was forced labor and all kinds of brainwashing, such as lectures from the "610 Office." As part of the brainwashing the hired thugs curse Dafa and collaborators [former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture] implement their fake one-on-one 'education' to convince others to stop practicing Dafa They also played video and audio recordings of these people, as well as audiotapes slandering Teacher and Falun Dafa. In order to resist the persecution and validate Dafa, practitioners introduced Falun Dafa and clarified the truth to the police, recited Zhuan Falun's introductory "Lun Yu" and Teacher's book of poems Hong Yin, and also practiced Falun Dafa exercises together. The vicious police beat, kicked, and struck practitioners with electric batons. They did not allow them to sleep and detained them in solitary confinement. Male police guards broke into female practitioners' cells whenever they wanted to and insulted whoever opened their eyes with obscene language. Many practitioners started hunger striking to further resist this persecution. Because too many practitioners started these hunger strikes, the wicked ones were suddenly panic-stricken. They pretended to be nice so as to persuade us to eat, but at the same time they threatened practitioners by saying that hunger striking was the same as suicide. The hunger-striking practitioners told them that they were fasting for the right to practice Falun Dafa and be good people; that they were persecuted and the guards should stop persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. Despite practitioners' compassion and mercy, the evil police still numbly carried out their supervisors' orders to beat up and force-feed practitioners who insisted on hunger striking or they forced fasting practitioners to run in the snow. After a month, one practitioner was tortured to the edge of death and sent to the hospital. Later, we heard that this practitioner died a few hours after arriving at the hospital.
Right after that the ruthless police started a massive search for Teacher's articles and brutally beat up practitioners in the process. When the policemen got tired, they asked female criminal prisoners to massage them. As for practitioners who had just entered the labor camp, they would be forced to sign a 'guarantee' to not practice or study the Fa; otherwise, they would be tortured with devices. Some practitioners were beaten so badly that they defecated in their pants; for some, their buttocks and legs turned black and they could not even get up at all. Even so, police guards still forced them to sit on a little stool.
As the persecution escalated, they didn't even force practitioners to work for them anymore. Every day it was just mandatory brainwashing, more cruel beatings, and torture. Brainwashed people from the city and province came in groups and began to persecute practitioners via torture and brainwashing. Big and small speakers were in use all the time, playing poisonous songs, slogans, and articles that attacked Teacher and Dafa. Police guards were patrolling the hallways with their electric batons. They would walk into any given room at any time to grab practitioners by the hair and abuse them.
After a while, all practitioners were forbidden to sleep and were forced bend over 180 degrees with their hands on their heads; their legs could not bend or move. High-voltage, long electric batons were used to shock practitioners' sensitive places. The electric baton's red or blue sparks flickered in the police guards' fierce eyes. Police instigated criminal prisoners to beat up practitioners alongside them. They tried to force us to sign a "repentance" statement; otherwise we would be detained in a small room to be tortured continuously. They claimed that if we didn't sign, we would be skinned. They also said that there were so many Chinese people it would make no difference if they beat us to death. At that time I was detained in a small room and beaten up and shocked with electric batons. I passed out and woke up again. With firm belief and righteous thoughts toward Teacher and Dafa, by the next morning genuine practitioners had still refused to sign anything. Starting at noon on the next day, evil police continued the beatings and using electric shock batons on those practitioners who hadn't signed. Dafa disciples remained firm and unyielding.
Police attempted to destroy practitioners' will with physical and mental torture so as to reach their goal. However, true practitioners are people who have understood some truths of the universe and know the real meaning of life. In the long abyss of suffering, we insisted studying the Fa and reciting the articles we could remember.
The collaborators who came to brainwash us were even more malicious. They cruelly tortured practitioners, beating us up at will. They used their shoes to lash at our faces and heads; forbade us to sleep for several days; tortured us by making us squat, or kneel down, or bend over 180 degrees; they used iron batons and big bottles full of water to thrash practitioners; they also used needles to stab our buttocks, some practitioners' lower backs thus became very badly festered. They colluded with police, and sometimes over ten people would beat a single practitioner. The collaborators beat one practitioner to death in this savage manner.
During a period of over 10 months, practitioners were tortured in turn. We were later completely immobilized in jail. They forbade us to talk among ourselves, and the collaborators even watched to see who we made eye contact with. The people who watched us would even curse at us if we smiled when accidentally making eye contact [with other practitioners]. They also followed us constantly, even to the restroom, and the police could open the door of the bathroom to watch us at any time.
Faced with all kinds of persecution, the genuine practitioners never cowered. After studying Teacher's article "Dafa Disciples' Righteous Thoughts Are Powerful," we began to eliminate evil with our righteous thoughts. Later, we found out about Teacher's Fa-rectification formula and so we sent forth righteous thoughts all the time. Practitioners outside the jail often also sent forth righteous thoughts to help us. They have broadcasted the Falun Dafa Radio Station and Teacher's new articles within earshot of the labor camp. The power of the whole body of diamond-like, unshakable and solid Falun Dafa disciples greatly shocked and cleared away the evil factors in other dimensions.
Through studying Teacher's new articles, we have further understanding about how to behave well as a Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple. We realized that Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples should completely deny the arrangements of old forces and walk the path Teacher arranges for us; we should not bear endless persecution passively; we cannot stay in the den of monsters until the end. I chose to abstain from both food and water. I knew that doing this would require endurance, great effort and putting down the attachment to life and death. During the period of fasting, I treated the Fa as my teacher and set requirements for myself with a high standard. I recited Fa, sent forth righteous thoughts, and never cooperated with evil; I used my supernormal capabilities comprehensively. The wicked people were not able to put a rubber tube in my nose, nor could they force any food in me. Even when they got a little bit to go down, I would vomit it out. One day I relaxed in my mind, and they then got the tube in and I didn't vomit after they forced in a little food. This made me realize how important it is as Falun Dafa practitioners to insist on keeping righteous thoughts in one's mind at all times.
After I began hunger striking, my body became very uncomfortable. Later, the symptoms became more serious. I could not open my eyes and I had irregular respiration. I felt like I was hovering between life and death. In the face of death, I didn't cower back nor fear it. I swore to fight the old forces with my life and completely deny their arrangements. I said to Teacher in my mind, "In order to validate Dafa and create a good environment here, I do not care if I get out of here dead or alive. However, my first wish is still to get out alive because I exist with Teacher and I exist in the Fa-rectification period. If I live I can study more Falun Dafa, clarify the truth, send forth righteous thoughts and save sentient beings." One night I dreamt I was in an old-fashioned room with the door open. Something fierce and inhuman came to insult me, and I destroyed it with my righteous thoughts. After I woke up, I enlightened that when I truly put down life and death with righteous thoughts and righteous actions, the old forces could never touch me. They would not dare to touch me, because I have Teacher watching over me. Two days later, my body became extremely weak and some dangerous symptoms appeared. I could not be force-fed anymore. Just like this, with Teacher's help, I got out of jail openly and with a Dafa disciple's dignity.
The above is my experience during the period when I was in a labor camp. It is a first-hand account of the evil persecution and brutality, and the journey of Falun Dafa disciples who firmly practice Dafa and eliminate evil persecution with their righteous thoughts while under the compassionate care and guidance of Teacher.
