(Clearwisdom.net) During the last three years of brutal persecution of Falun Dafa by Jiang's regime, tens of thousands of practitioners have been tortured, forced to endure agony, some being brutally beaten to disability, even to death. Practitioner Xun Ruilin from Chengan County, Handan City of Hebei Province is one of them.
Xun Ruilin was a gentle man, one who didn't like to talk much. He was always peaceful and calm. It seemed he would never have any arguments with others, no matter how big the event. Since he attained the Fa in 1996 he had advanced diligently. His home was a practice site where wife and his two sons followed him on the cultivation way, a happy and harmonious family. However, after July 20th, 1999, there was no more peaceful cultivation environment for them. Prior to his cultivation, Xun Ruilin had a timid demeanor. He was so shy that he would be afraid to go out at night. Then Dafa was persecuted. Thinking it over, he decided to go to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. He overcame his reluctance and went to Beijing three times, against all odds. He said, "My legs kept trembling on the way there. Once arriving at Tiananmen Square, I felt fear no more." Each time after he was sent back, he would get out of the detention center with honor and dignity through hunger strike.
Xun Ruilin not only cultivated well by himself but also encouraged the practitioners in the county to advance diligently. Under such harsh conditions, he organized small study and practice groups within the whole county and delivered the articles from Clearwisdom and truth-clarifying materials to fellow practitioners. Sometimes he would forego sleep in order to deliver Master's articles to fellow practitioners. Due to his coordination efforts, the Dafa work in the county went very well.
On a "sensitive day" in the first half of 2002, several practitioners in the capital of the county decided to post truth-clarifying posters. Since the fellow practitioners knew Xun had a shy temperament, they assigned him to put up posters in the back streets and others would do in the front streets where there were such units as the county police department and county committee along the streets. Xun started to become nervous during the following two days. He knew for the sake of many innocent people who were deceived by the lies no matter how scared he was, he would do it and do it well. That evening after dinner, he started to put the posters inside his clothes. His leg started trembling. But he had a clear mind, "It is not my fear. It is the interference of the old forces. I will defeat it." He kept sending forth righteous thoughts and came to a back street. Once he started to paste the posters along the street, he forgot his fears and his legs stopped shaking. There was only one thought in his mind, "I'm doing Dafa work. No evils are allowed to interfere with me." He felt himself tall and big. Although there were many people outside, no one asked him anything and it seemed they didn't see him. After reaching the end of the back street, he turned around to the main street and continued to paste the posters. When he approached the gate of the county police department, he saw a police car parked there and several people talking near by. He felt in his thoughts that they looked very small and far away. He continued to paste the posters as usual while sending forth righteous thoughts. No one tried to interfere with him. Once again he verified the mighty power of righteous thoughts.
On the next morning, people walked out of their homes and saw many truth-clarifying Dafa posters along the streets and small lanes of the county's capital, helping many to come to learn the truth about Falun Gong.
After Master's article "Hurry Up and Tell Them" was published, he heard stories of how other practitioners clarified the truth and distributed the truth-clarifying materials on the buses. He started to carry flyers and CDs every time he rode the bus. He tried several times to have the courage to talk openly to the people on the bus like other fellow practitioners, but he couldn't. So he decided to just chat with the people beside him and gradually lead the topic to the truth of Dafa. He then found many people were listening to him. He said then, "I have materials. Do you want to read?" Many people accepted the materials and expressed their gratitude. He felt it was not as hard as he imagined. It was indeed that sentient beings were anxiously waiting to be saved.
On August 31, 2002, the practitioners in Chengan County organized a Fa conference. The news leaked and the police were informed. All policemen in the Chengan County Police Department and the Criminal Police Division were dispatched and almost seventy practitioners were arrested. Xun Ruilin suffered brutal tortures in the Chengan County Police Department. Remembering Master's teaching, "No matter what the situation, do not cooperate with the evil's demands, orders, or what it instigates." ("Dafa Disciples' Righteous Thoughts are Powerful" from Essentials for Further Advancement II) He kept righteous thoughts at all times and refused to eat, drink or say any words. The police had no way to deal with him. Under the order of the head of the "610 Office" of the city, Niu Yubao, he was transferred to the Linzhang County Police Department. He continued his hunger strike. He suffered tortures such as beatings, electric shocks and forced-feeding. Several days later he was tortured to death. When his family saw his body covered with bruises and wounds, the police even threatened the family not to say any words about it.
Xun Yulin, a steadfast practitioner, was killed from the persecution. When we heard the news, we all cried. His steadfastness in assisting Master in Fa-rectification and his never submitting to the evils encourage us. We will continue to fulfill our sacred mission to save sentient beings. We deeply believe, "Dafa disciples' futures are certainly bright-they'll absolutely be bright."(From "Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.")
To our respected fellow practitioner, today we heshi (press both hands together in front of the chest) to say goodbye to you.
