Facts of Persecution

Soon after July 20, 1999, CCTV, China's state-run TV network, aired the story of a worker named Li from the Linnancang Mine in Tangshan City who was arrested for stealing. The perpetrators lied and claimed that he practiced Falun Gong and told them he thought he became invisible and therefore he stole public property. After the news story was broadcast, the folks in the Linnancang Mine area were greatly stirred. Everyone thought, "Why does CCTV lie? We all know Li never practiced Falun Gong."

In order to clarify the truth, Falun Gong practitioner Liu Jianli from the Linnancang Mine went to Tiananmen Square and spoke the facts through a megaphone. After Liu Jianli was arrested, the police persecuted him with various means. They sent him to a detention center and then a labor camp and later sent him to a mental hospital to be persecuted. In the end, for further persecution they sent him to a "reform" school for brainwashing and mental torment.

On August 25, 2001, perpetrators from the Yutian Politics and Security Section in Tangshan City, and also from the Politics and Security Section of Fengrun Police Department and Qishuzhuang Police Station ransacked Dafa practitioner Huang Yuwen's home. They took 1,000 Yuan that Huang Yuwen's mother-in-law had earned. They took him to Fengrun Police Department to interrogate and torture him; then detained him in Fengrun Detention Center for over 60 days. The perpetrators also withheld nearly 1,500 Yuan, which is two months' salary, from Huang Yuwen. On August 24, 2001, police officers from Guotun Town Police Station in Yutian County broke into his mother's home, ransacked it and took his parents to the police station. Two days later, the police ransacked her home again and they also ransacked her sister's home. They arrested her sister and brother and took them to the police station. Huang Yuwen's father was sent to Yutian Detention Center for over 30 days and he was extorted of 3,000 Yuan. Huang Yuwen's mother, sister and brother were illegally detained in the police station for five to six days, and each one was extorted of 2,000 Yuan.

At the Heizuizi Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province, guard Zhang in Group Two, Division Seven tortured Dafa practitioner Chai Hongyan with the most base and cruel methods. She shocked Chai Hongyan's private areas and abdomen with electric baton(s) for more than two hours and verbally abused and beat her constantly. In the over one-year savage torture, Chai Hongyan persisted in her Dafa practice. As her term was about to expire, the perpetrators extended the persecution by 40 days. After she was released she was transferred to a local detention center where she was detained for three months. Then she was illegally sentenced to two more years of forced labor and was sent back to the labor camp. At present she is still being detained at the Heizuizi Female Labor Camp in Changchun City.

Mr. He Sanpu is an employee of Henan Province Newspaper Corporation. He persisted in Dafa practice and didn't give up his belief of Truth-Compassion-Tolerance. As a result, perpetrators from Zhenzhou City Police Department, the "610 Office" and Henan Newspaper Corp. abducted him numerous times. They tortured him. On December 1, 2003, He Sanpu was abducted at work for the third time and was sent to a brainwashing class.

Hui Yi (pseudonym), a Dafa practitioner in Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province went to Beijing twice to validate Dafa. She was illegally detained and was sent to the Nanmusi Female Labor Camp for one-and-half years. In July 2002, she was released after her illegal term was extended by one month. Three days later, the perpetrators again abducted her and sent her to the Nanmen Mental Hospital. She was later sent to Pengzhou City's Mental Hospital where she was fiendishly tortured. Because she held a long-term hunger strike, they chained her to a bed. She fainted numerous times. In June 2003, the enforcers from Pengzhou City's Police Department and from the "610 Office" transferred Hui Yi to the Waibei Detention Center to further persecute her.

The perpetrators from Team Eight of Group 4 at Baimalong Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province illegally extended Dafa practitioner Ms. Song Zuzhi's term that was about to expire. She held a hunger strike. The guards forcibly took her to the infirmary for intravenous infusion everyday, in spite of the fact that she had high blood pressure.

The guards ordered the inmates to beat and verbally abuse Dafa practitioner Ms. Long Ying in Group Three. She was hung up on the window by handcuffs until her hands became severely swollen. Once she passed out from torture.

Practitioner Mo Xiaoyan was brutally beaten by guards and was forbidden to take a shower. She was eventually forced to jump off a wall and sustained a head injury.

Dafa practitioners in the "Strict Control Group" were not allowed to sleep at night and were handcuffed if they did the Dafa exercises. The perpetrators also encouraged inmates to torture the practitioners. They used various means to coerce and brainwash Dafa practitioners.

During the Chinese New Year of 2000, Dafa practitioner Ms. Yu Fuhua from Jiamusi City went to Beijing to appeal and was detained at Jiamusi Detention Center for two months during which time she was cruelly tortured. In October 2000, Yu Fuhua went to Beijing to appeal and was abducted by police who sent her back to Jiamusi Detention Center. Later, she was sent to Jiamusi Labor Camp, where the perpetrators used various evil means trying to brainwash her. She was later released. On December 10, 2003, the city police abducted Yu Fuhua from her home.

The vicious guards at Jiamusi Labor Camp brutally beat Dafa practitioner Du Wenfu until blood gushed from his nose and mouth and he passed out. Dafa practitioner Li Qin's brother gave guard Qian a total of 800 Yuan to pass to Li Qin, but Li Qin only received 600 Yuan. Practitioner Wang Chunguang's sister-in-law went to visit him from Fuyuan and wanted to deposit money for Wang Chunguang. A labor camp guard said, "You can give me the money because I know Wang Chunguang." Wang's family believed him and gave him 1,000 Yuan, but Wang Chunguang never saw the money.

Dafa practitioner Lu Yanying from Liaoyang City went to Beijing to appeal in October 1999. She was illegally sent to Liaoyang City Dentition Center and was later unconstitutionally sentenced to two-and-half years of forced labor. She was sent to the Shizizui Labor Camp in Liaoyang City where she was barbarously tortured, was forced to do slave labor and was forbidden sleep. On September 7, 2000 she was sent to the Masanjia Labor Camp and was released in late 2000. On December 28, 2001 she was again arrested, this time by perpetrators from Liaohua Police Department and was illegally sentenced to nine years in prison. She is right now being detained at Liaoning Province's Female Prison. Her husband divorced her under duress.

The methods used to torture Dafa practitioners at the Nanmusi Labor Camp in Sichuan Province include: The practitioners are forced to sit in military posture in the heat of summer for 16 hours a day. The perpetrators mercilessly beat the practitioners, extend their terms, forbid them to sleep and tie them up for a long time. Several practitioners who resisted the evildoers were beaten until their heads bled profusely and were sent to a hospital for emergency treatment. Practitioner Tong Guiqiong was beaten until she passed out; practitioner Liu Zhongyi had four teeth knocked out from the beating and practitioner Xiao Hongjun was beaten until his whole body turned black and blue.
