Facts of the Persecution

For the past several years, officials from the Political and Security Division from the Tiexi District Police Department in Siping City, Jilin Province have fiendishly persecuted Dafa practitioners. Many practitioners were illegally sentenced to forced labor. On the evening of September 16, 2003, the persecutors broke into and ransacked several Dafa practitioners' homes. They arrested five Dafa practitioners. The perpetrators found Dafa books in practitioner Zhou Liping's home and, following Jiang Zemin's corrupt policies, people from the Zhanqian Street Police Station sentenced her to two years of forced labor. She is currently being detained at the Heizuizi Female Labor Camp in Changchun City.

Since July 20, 1999, corrupt officials in Yitong County, Jilin Province brutally persecuted Dafa practitioners in Yitong County.

During the past four years, it is estimated that at least several hundred practitioners were illegally detained. Many were abducted and sent to brainwashing classes. More than 20 practitioners were forced to leave home to avoid illegal arrest. At least 141 practitioners were illegally sent to forced labor camps. Four practitioners were illegally sent to prison. The perpetrators extorted more than one million Yuan [Chinese currency; the average monthly salary of an urban worker in China is 500 Yuan] from Dafa practitioners and their families.

After their arrest, the practitioners are savagely beaten, burnt with cigarettes, kicked with army boots, have cold water poured on them, are tortured with the "tiger bench."* The persecutors put the practitioners' heads in plastic bags to suffocate them, and they handcuff and shackle the practitioners. They otherwise torture the practitioners, using various means, and forbid them to sleep for extended periods of time.

Guards at the Nanning Female Labor Camp torture Dafa practitioners in a barbarous manner. They force the practitioners to do slave labor for a very long time. The conditions at the labor camp are terrible. They also extort money from the practitioners and physically and mentally torment the practitioners. They furthermore monitor the practitioners 24 hours a day and force the practitioners to listen to and view Dafa-slandering materials. They additionally force the practitioners to stand against a wall for many hours at a time. The perpetrators also make the kind Dafa practitioners sit on the scorching cement ground in the heat of summer until the practitioners' buttocks are ulcerated. Some practitioners who had developed high blood pressure are not allowed to go back inside.

The Truth and People's Heart

My experience of one month of Dafa-practice: I suffered from herpes keratitis (an eye infection) and during the past few years had lost sight in one of my eyes. Yesterday, one month after I had begun doing Dafa exercises and reading Dafa books, I suddenly had partial vision in my bad eye. I was so ecstatic I went to fellow practitioners to tell them the good news. Today I can see the Phoenix trees. Falun Gong is truly good! I invite everyone to practice Dafa and Truth-Compassion-Tolerance!

*Tiger Bench [Practitioners are forced to sit on a small iron bench that is approximately 20 cm (6 inches) tall with their knees tied together. With their hands tied behind their backs or sometimes placed on their knees, they are forced to sit straight up and look straight ahead. They are not allowed to turn their heads, close their eyes, talk to anyone or move at all. Several inmates are assigned to watch over the practitioners and force themáto remain motionless while sitting on the bench.
