Facts of the Persecution

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Shunjiang from Qiqihar is still being tortured in the No.9 Block of Tailai Prison in Heilongjiang Province. On October 17, 2003, he was locked in a small cell for doing Falun Dafa exercises openly. He went on hunger strike immediately to protest. Vicious police conducted brutal force-feeding on October 23, and his situation is now critical.

Police in the Sanshui Labor Camp in Guangdong Province violently torture Falun Dafa practitioners for profit. They put Dafa practitioners who refuse to give up their faith under "strict control," in which practitioners, even including old men in their 70s, have to go through long military drills. Some common torture methods used by the police include depriving practitioners of sleep, forcing practitioners to sit-squat or stand for a long time, putting practitioners in solitary confinement, and shocking practitioners with electric batons. Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Lin Fengchi was shocked with an electric baton, then burnt with boiling water. One of his legs was fractured due to kicking from police. Practitioner Mr. Wang Zhufeng's neck was twisted by police, his arm was injured from being stretched too violently, and his shoulder blade was dislocated. Some practitioners' wrists and ankles are wounded, some practitioners' nipples are scratched or cut by the evil police.

Police in Yuemingshan Labor Camp of Anshan City, Liaoning Province escalated their persecution towards Falun Dafa practitioners. Several Falun Dafa practitioners' lives are in danger. The most responsible parties are the Anshan City Political and Judiciary Committee, the Anshan City "610 Office," Labor Camp Assistant Director Chen, Zhang Zhenyang, and Zhang Yongli.

Mr. Song Jianguo, a Falun Dafa practitioner and former lecturer from the Sanhe City Party School, Hebei Province, has escaped with righteous thoughts four times after being arrested by local police, once after being brought to a brainwashing class. On February 11, 2003, he went to a place in Sanhe City to find a job, and was then unlawfully abducted because the evil gang of local police was following him. They sent him to Beijing a few days later, possibly to the Tuanhe Labor Camp. Police have strictly sealed off any information about him. He has been unlawfully held for more than eight months now.

Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Tian Yu and Ms. Wang Feng (mother and daughter) from Chengdu City, Sichuan Province were unlawfully abducted by "610 Officers" and brought to the Xinjin County Brainwashing class before China's National Day, October 1^st. Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Su Kezhen from Chengdu City, Sichuan Province was arrested unlawfully by police in July, 2003. After being detained for 15 days in the Chengdu City Detention Center, she was allowed to go home, however, she was secretly followed by police. On September 29, 2003, police abducted her again, and illegally sentenced her to 18 months labor camp.

Below are eyewitness accounts from the Nanmusi Women's Labor Camp in Zizhong County, Sichuan Province:

In those snowy days after the 2002 winter solstice (shortest day of the year), some Falun Dafa practitioners in the "Strict Control Group" of the No.8 Team were forced to stand outside for more than 10 days and nights straight. Some of them were forced to stand indoors. If any one of them sent forth righteous thoughts with his right hand erected, he would be handcuffed to the window, with his two hands separately cuffed, and only the tips of his toes touching the ground. Police beat and cursed at them non-stop, and forced them to drink a cup of water every two hours. If they refused to drink, then the prisoners would force-feed the practitioner water. Police strip off practitioners' clothes, make them stand against the wall, beat them, curse at them, and physically torture them with military drills. Besides the physical torture, practitioners are being mentally tortured. Several practitioners have suffered nervous breakdowns under the high pressure. Police shamelessly labeled them "gone insane from practicing..."

On September 17, 2003, a group of vicious police from Chengdong Substation, Puning City, Guangdong Province stormed a residential house in Shangtang Village. They unlawfully abducted Falun Dafa practitioners Ji Zhitong and Xu Jingchuan, and detained them in the Puning City Detention Center. These two Falun Dafa practitioners went on hunger strike to protest, and requested to be released for their innocence. They have been on hunger strike for more than 30 days. Evil police have been brutally force-feeding them, and their situations are very difficult.

On lunar calendar date December 13, 2001, police from Liulintun Substation in Luancheng County, Shijiazhuang City arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Xie Jun from Beitun Village. They cruelly tortured him for three days, and then sent him to the Luancheng County Detention Center. One rape offender kicked Xie Jun's left rib, and fractured it. Xie Jun was bailed out on lunar calendar date Januray 3, 2003, but on lunar calendar date March 3, 2003, he was arrested and taken to the detention center again. Prisoners often beat him up, and his rib was fractured again. He was later unlawfully sentenced to six years of prison, and sent to Jidong Prison in Tangshan City. Because of the long term brutal torture, Xie Jun is very weak. He was diagnosed with leukemia and gallstones. Now he has been bailed out for medical treatment at home.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Qiu Liying, employee of the Shijiazhuang Oil Refinery was unlawfully sent to labor camp for a three-year sentence and had it extended three months because she went to Beijing to appeal. She was brutally tortured both physically and mentally. At the end of 2001, she was locked in a brainwashing class without reason. She went on hunger strike after seven months, and requested to be released immediately. After a more than one month long hunger strike, she was picked up by her family on October 1^st. However, she was again sent to the Hebei Provincial Brainwashing Center on October 8. Falun Dafa practitioners Xu Guangxia and Zhang Shuping from the same refinery, who had both become destitute and homeless in order to avoid being unlawfully arrested at home, were arrested by police from the Sifang Substation, and sent to the Shijiazhuang City No.1 Detention Center on October 25.

News and Activities Around the World

During a two day holiday, Falun Dafa practitioners in Taiwan clarified the truth to people and collected signatures at the Zhongli Train Station. Many people expressed their support and encouragement. They collected almost 10 thousand signatures in the name of justice. These signatures showed that most people disapprove of Jiang and his regime for violating human rights and illegally detaining Falun Dafa practitioners from Taiwan. They wish these tragedies would end soon, and that justice would be returned to the world.

Practitioners Exchange Insights

A Falun Dafa practitioner from Singapore shared the following:

I just heard two fellow practitioners validate the Fa from the stand point of medical science. One doctor introduced how Taiwanese people have been doing SARS prevention with all sorts of masks and herbs. The second doctor's talk was entitled "One Good Thought Will Drive Sickness Away." He did not mention Falun Gong, but only quoted words from Zhuan Falun.

I am a little confused. What is the connection between validating the Fa and this kind of thing? We cultivators all know who SARS is aimed at. Can herb pills help unsalvageable people avoid their destinies? We have to let them know the truth of Falun Dafa! Master never said a good person would not be sick. If one wants to avoid sickness and suffering, he must walk on the path of cultivation. The report quoted many entries from the ancient "Huang Di Nei Jing," and Yiching to prove his theory. Master talked seriously about no second way. If this medical report is geared at ordinary people, they should not involve so many fellow practitioners' time and energy. Master said in The Great Consummation Way of Falun Dafa,

"One needs to firmly resist any conduct that undermines the inner meaning of Dafa. No disciple is allowed to promote what he sees, hears, or awakens to at his own low level as the content of Falun Dafa, and then do what's called 'teaching the Fa.' That's not allowed even if he wants to teach people to do kind deeds, because that's not the Fa, but merely kind words of advice for everyday people. They don't carry the power that the Fa has to save people. Anyone using his or her own experience to teach the Fa is considered to be severely disrupting the Fa."

In this respect, I think we should carefully and seriously examine the situations we come across.
