Harbin Women's Prison Brutally Tortures Falun Gong Practitioners

Since Yang Hua became the head in 2002, the guards there have tortured Falun Gong practitioners. In order to force practitioners to give up their beliefs, the police ordered practitioners to bend over and stand for nights on end with no more than two hours of sleep. During the winter, practitioners were told to walk outside from morning until night. The guards often beat practitioners with police batons or electric batons.
Elderly Practitioner from Pengzhou Is Brutalized for More Than Six Months

Mr. Xu from Wenchang Village, Mengyang County, Pengzhou City in Sichuan Province is more than seventy years old. Before cultivating Falun Gong, he had at least ten different diseases and a bad temper. Seeking cures for his diseases, he visited many famous doctors, practiced some qigong, and performed physical exercises, but all those efforts failed. In 1996, Falun Gong spread throughout Pengzhou City. After beginning the process of Falun Dafa, Mr. Xu became healthy and hearty looking without taking any medicine, and his temper softened.
A Middle School Teacher Suffers Persecution
(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Liu Guoliang is an art teacher in Harbin's No. 31 Middle School. After July 20, 1999 when the persecution began, he and his wife Wang Fenglan, also a Falun Gong practitioner, went to Beijing to appeal to the government. They were arrested, sent back and fined 3,000 Yuan [approximately 6-month salary of an average urban worker in China]. In 2000 they went to Beijing to appeal again, and police beat them during their detention in Beijing. After being escorted back to Harbin, Liu Guoliang was sent to Changlinzi Labor Camp, and Wang Fenglan was sent to Wanjia Labor Camp.
