Facts of the Persecution

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Guan Zhaoqi was abducted by the Daqing City police on September 6, 2002, and then locked in the Daqing City Detention Center. He was later sentenced to six years in prison by the Ranghulu District Court of Daqing City, and transferred to the Daqing City Hongweixing Prison in June 2003. Falun Dafa practitioners have all their rights taken away in this jail. There are four to five prisoners watching each Dafa practitioner every day, and practitioners are not allowed to leave their cells. Under orders of the prison's assistant director Wang Yingjie, police are locking Falun Dafa practitioners in small cells as torture.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Ni Wenkui of the Daqing City No. 6 Oil Refinery was abducted by police on November 3, 2002, and was detained in the Rang District Detention Center. On June 1, 2003, the court sentenced him to three years in prison without notifying his employer or his family, and sent him to the Daqing City Prison. On April 22, 2003, more than ten villainous individuals from the Daqing "610 Office,"^* the Qingxin Police Substation, and the Retirement Management Center of the No. 6 Refinery dragged Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Han Lihua from her home, and sent her to the Hongwenxing Brainwashing class to be reformed. Falun Dafa practitioners have been mentally tortured using fabrications and materials that defame Falun Dafa. If anyone refuses to cooperate, he or she is placed in solitary confinement, and punished with long periods of standing and sleep deprivation. If any one holds a hunger strike, they are force-fed. If they do not cooperate with the force-feeding, they are given intravenous injections. Some Dafa practitioners were locked up for six months and endured all of these abuses.

The Truth and People's Hearts

The following is an excerpt from the article, "A Stereo with Spirit."

We have an old stereo at home which I have used to record Dafa tapes more than 100 times. I had not used it for a while, and recently found that it would not work when I tried to use it. My husband tried to repair it, but failed. I said, "Let me give it a try." My husband commented, "I couldn't fix it, why bother trying?" I unscrewed the machine's case and said to it with my heart, "Stereo, you should do more good deeds, otherwise I will have to throw you away. I would hate to have to do that!" Later, I tried tapes on it, and it worked! The problem I had using a tape never occurred again. I think it must have understood what I said. My husband did not say a word, and looked baffled.

News from China

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Xiao Dong from the Chinese Woman's College was arrested by several people from a "610 Office" in Beijing around July 6, 2003. She was illegally sentenced to two years of labor camp in the Xinan Women's Labor Camp in Beijing. She was sent to a brainwashing class after abduction, but she escaped. Later, her family members were forced to reveal her location, and she was arrested again. The villains sent people to her college to collect 4,000 Yuan** from them, with the excuse that they needed to build a higher fence, so that she would not escape again. Her college refused to pay.

* "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

** Yuan is the Chinese currency. The average monthly salary of an urban worker in China is 500 Yuan.
