Falun Dafa practitioners in Minnesota, United States, shared the wonderfulness of Falun Dafa with the public at the Mind-Body-Spirit Expo held last weekend in Minneapolis. The public continues to be educated about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China. They are very shocked to hear that American citizen Dr. Charles Li is detained and being tortured. They are truly glad that we shared this information with them. One lady said while looking at a flyer saying "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance," "I believe these three words are the foundation of our new world. I truly believe so."

The following is an excerpt from the article "In a Few Words--Feedback After Reading 'Expose the Evil Happening Locally to Local People.'"

We Falun Dafa practitioners overseas can also expose the evil happening in Mainland China to local Chinese people. The key is preparation. We need a large quantity of compiled materials divided by region. We need to coordinate together to make sure no place is left out. Although the preparation is not easy, once this is done, it will be easy to do the rest. When the Minghui materials website is updated, it will provide this kind of convenient information to many Falun Dafa practitioners so that they can clarify the truth directly.

The following is an excerpt from the article "A Suggestion to Clarify the Truth to Editors."

There is a fellow practitioner in our area, who always writes down the editor's name, phone number, and address when reading newspapers. He then mails them truth-clarifying materials. He always chooses materials that report important current events, local stories, and convincing opinions. Based on feedback from other channels, he has had good results, and many editors have changed fundamentally.

The following is an excerpt from the article "Some Understandings of Unselfishness."

One day, I was helping another teacher sweep the floor before going home. While sweeping I noticed that my thoughts were not pure. I was thinking about how the other teacher would thank me, and say something to praise me, and the children in the school would notice me sweeping the floor, and think that I am kind and helpful. To put it simply, I was doing something I wanted to do, that was based on the benefits I would get, which is not an unselfish mind. I saw the difference between my mind-nature and the Fa. I know that I should purify my thoughts more. Even when we sweep the floor for others, our thoughts should be pure. We have to do it this way while clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings. Only if we base our actions on true compassion that we cultivate from Dafa can we move sentient beings, and help them see the truth and have a beautiful future.

Facts of the Persecution

Managers in the Yongxing Electronics Factory (Plant #893) in Xindu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province cooperate with corrupt officials from the Xindu District "610 Office"* to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners who are employees of the factory. Practitioners are dismissed from their jobs or have their salaries or benefits withheld. The factory also organizes retired employees to follow and closely monitor Falun Dafa practitioners, and frame Dafa practitioners. They force Falun Dafa practitioners to write the "Three Statements,"** and threaten to send them to brainwashing sessions or labor camp.

Falun Dafa practitioner Li Xiurong went on hunger strike to protest her illegal detention in a labor camp. She was sent to the hospital when her life was in danger, and escaped after a few days. A labor camp official threatened Li's family members, and found out Li used to know Wang Shuxin who lives at 31 Yonghong District. The police then waited under Wang's apartment building. On April 9, 2002, more than ten police officers tried to enter Wang's apartment, saying that they needed to check her electricity meter, but Wang did not open. Then they called 110 [similar to 911 in the western countries], forced open her door, ransacked her home, took Wang to the local police station, then sent her directly to a labor camp from there. Wang was sentenced to a three year term, and has been in a labor camp for 18 months. She has endured numerous forms of mental and physical torture.

* "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

** "Three Statements" - Practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write these as proof that they have given up their belief. Created by the "610 Office," the three statements consist of a letter of repentance, a guarantee to never again practice Falun Gong, and a list of names and addresses of all family members, friends and acquaintances who are practitioners.
