1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Belated News: Dafa Practitioner Dies on a Train in December 2000 As a Result of Force-Feeding

In December 2000, I was illegally arrested and forcibly sent into Harbin City's Railway Detention Center. Ms. Zhang Hua, a 60-year-old practitioner detained in the same cell with me, told me her story. Several days ago, she had gone to Beijing to unfurl Dafa banners, was arrested and taken into a detention center. There, she and three other female practitioners refused to tell the police their names. After five days of hunger strike, the police transported them to the outskirts of a suburb and abandoned them in a desolate field.

These practitioners did not know each other. They walked dozens of miles and got to a railway station. Zhang Hua and another practitioner got on a train heading northeast. On the train, the other practitioner began to hurt. It was discovered that the police had inserted the tube into her lung during force-feeding, causing severe bleeding. She had extreme difficulty breathing. Zhang Hua asked a train attendant to transfer her to a lower bed. But the practitioner still felt extreme pain. Several hours later this practitioner passed away. Police on the train thought Zhang Hua was somehow responsible for this practitioner's death, so they put Zhang Hua into Harbin City's Railway Detention Center. Actually, the unknown practitioner died from results of torture. We do not know whether her family found out what happened to her or where her body might be.

2. [Jilin Province] Dafa Practitioners Hang up Truth-Clarifying Loudspeaker

On a day in October 2003, practitioners from Jilin Province hung up a loudspeaker broadcasting truth-clarifying information on a big tree near a township's middle school. When students went to school, the loudspeaker began to broadcast. Students, those visiting the township's market, and nearby residents all could hear this. Many gathered near the speaker to listen. After hearing the truth-clarifying information, they discussed this with each other. The loudspeaker did not finish broadcasting until the battery was used up.

3. [Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province] Four Dafa Practitioners are Illegally Sentenced

During the morning of October 25, 2003, four practitioners from Zhangzhou City in Fujian Province who had clarified the truth with short messages through cellular phones were illegally sentenced in Xiangcheng District Court. Ms. Zheng Huizhen was sentenced to four years of imprisonment; Ms. Xiao Yaying to three-and-a-half years; Mr. Feng Wenquan to three years; and Ms. Huang Meiling to two and a half years.

Everyday, people from the "610 Office*" from the First Section of Zhangzhou City Police Department receive 20 to 30 truth-clarifying phone calls from overseas practitioners. Now these "610" personnel frequently change their cell phone numbers. Even their co-workers do not know their cell phone numbers.

For Dafa practitioners who were illegally detained in Minxi Prison, if their family members wanted to visit them, they would be asked for their opinions on Falun Gong. If the family members did not satisfy them by saying something bad about Dafa, the police would not allow them to meet the practitioners.

4. [Xiangtan County, Hunan Province] Dafa Practitioners Liu Heqing and Luo Yinping are Illegally Sentenced

Mr. Liu Heqing, 33 years old, is a resident of Yisuhe Town/Xiangtan County/Hunan Province. He attained Dafa in 1999. In order to validate Dafa, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was illegally detained several times. In 2000 his work unit fired him. In October 2000, he was unlawfully arrested for distributing truth-clarifying flyers and was sentenced to one year of imprisonment. As he insisted on practicing, his detention term was extended by a half year. He went on clarifying the truth after he was released. But in March or April 2003, Xiangtan County Police Department enforcers unlawfully arrested him again and sentenced him to five years of imprisonment without any due legal procedures. At present, he is being detained at a prison in Changsha City.

Luo Yinping, 42 years old, is an employee of Xiangtan City's Construction Steel Company (former Hongqi Steel Factory). He attained Dafa in 1998. In 2001 he was forcibly taken away by persons from the city's National Security Department for distributing flyers. Police blindfolded him and took him to an unknown place and interrogated him for two days. After duping his brother and extorting 6,000 Yuan [Yuan is the Chinese currency. The average monthly salary of an urban worker in China is 500 Yuan. ], the police released him. At about 10:00 p.m. one evening in March 2003, National Security Department persecutors surrounded his living place and took him away again. Afterwards, he was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment. He has been detained at Xiangtan City Detention Center for over eight months.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Dafa Practitioner Fan Ying is Savagely Force-fed

Practitioner Ms. Fan Ying from Sichuan Province is being illegally detained at Chengdu City's Shuangliu Detention Center. In order to protest the persecution, she went on a hunger strike and has been on it for over 60 days. She had lost consciousness on two days. Police always cruelly force-fed her. She has almost no hair left, because the police grab her hair to force-feed her. Tens days ago she was sentenced to four years of imprisonment at Chengdu City's Intermediate People's Court.

6. [Bei'an City, Heilongjiang Province] Dafa Practitioner Liu Jin on Hunger Strike at Bei'an City Detention Center

Practitioner Liu Jin, an employee of Bei'an City's Power Plant, was reported to police. On October 28, persons from the city's police department abducted Liu from the workplace. After the arrest the practitioner was taken to the city's detention center, where he has since been on a hunger strike. We ask practitioners to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate all the evil factors in other dimension that are persecuting Liu Jin, and help him get out of the evil's den and come back into the mighty current of Fa-rectification.

7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioner Wen Yingxin is Force-fed at the Dabei Jail Hospital

Ms. Wen Yingxin, 33 years old, is a practitioner from Shenyang City. In the beginning of 2003 she was transferred from the city's Longshan Labor Camp to the Dabei Jail Hospital for persecution. The prison doctor force-fed her, and she is in critical condition.

A policeman by the name of Tang Yubao from the Longshan Labor Camp's No. 2 Division once shocked Dafa practitioner Wen Yingxin with an electric baton on the head. Wen fell on the cement floor, hit her head and fainted. She suffered a slight concussion. After that, Tang Yubao and other policemen were afraid for her health and apologized. But soon after, he resumed beating practitioners.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Force-feeding with Concentrated Saline Solution

In July of 2003, practitioner Ms. Ma Lianxiao, 57 years old from Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, was detained in Room 7 of Prison District No. 3, Shenyang City Detention Center. Warden Zhao (female, 26 years old) handcuffed Ma with hands behind the back for two days. Since September 5, because Ma went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, the prison doctor started to force-feed her with a highly concentrated saline solution through a stomach tube. Several prison doctors took turns to abuse her. A male director from the detention, about 40 years old ordered, "Force-feed her everyday! Feed her both in the morning and the afternoon, then handcuff her to the torture bench!" At that time, the team leader Xu, female, more than 40 years old, who is responsible for the No.3 Prison District and warden Zhao were present. Xu and Zhao force-fed our practitioner Ms. Ma, give her an injection, had someone restrain her on both sides, and even prevented her from vomiting. After a month of this kind of torment at the detention center, she was in critical condition. She was sent to the Dabei Jail Hospital for a month. Now, this practitioner has broken through the persecution with righteous thoughts.

In May 2001, lawless police officer Cheng Xin, male, 20 years old, together with other policemen from the Jixian Police Precinct, ransacked Dafa practitioner Ma Lianxiao's home and took away her copier, computer and printer.

In July 2003, policemen from the same precinct put practitioner Ma in a taxi. When they arrived at their office, the policemen yanked away her handbag containing about 500 Yuan and a folded umbrella. The policemen used her money to pay the taxi driver and then stole the rest, and even confiscated Ma's shoes.

9. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Police Use Money to Lure People to Report Dafa Practitioners

Because of the constant persecution from Fuzhou City "610 Office" and from the police department, many practitioners were forced to stay away from home to avoid the persecution. Recently, the police posted their "wanted list" of practitioners with pictures on the streets to lure residents to report those practitioners and then get a reward.

Mr. Wang Jianhui, 31 years old, was a senior broadcaster at Tangshan City's Radio Station in Hebei Province. Because of his firm belief in Dafa, he was arrested when he was clarifying the truth and validating Dafa. In November of 2002, his work unit had him removed from the labor camp and detained him at a transmission tower at Dacheng Mountain. He is still detained and the station also hired two retired workers to monitor him.

Ms. Zhang Xuemei and Ms. Zhang Yingli are practitioners from Zhaozhou County/ Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. During the night of November 3, 2003, the police arrested them when they were hanging Dafa banners and sent them into a detention center.

12. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioner Tang Zongyan

Ms. Tang Zongyan is a Falun Gong practitioner in Anqiu City/ Weifang area, Shandong Province. At 10:00 a.m. on October 8th, a person named Zhang Zhenxiao from the political security section for Anqiu City Police Department led some people to abduct Tang from a milk shop in the guise of "having a talk." On the second day they sent her to a forced labor camp.

13. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Many Dafa Practitioners Detained at Brainwashing Class Are Intellectuals

On about September 20, 2003 Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Jiyue, an engineer for Jilin Province's Chemical Factory was clarifying the truth of Falun Gong to her colleagues. Someone reported her. Then Jilin City "610 Office" officials illegally arrested and sent her to a newly established brainwashing class, called "Changchun City's Law Enforcement School," an act that violates the Chinese Constitution. Each term in this brainwashing class lasts 40 days, and each practitioner would be under surveillance of full time personnel. All Dafa practitioners detained this time are engineers, graduate students, professors and teachers who know computer technology. They attempted to cut off the communication channel between practitioners on the Mainland and Clearwisdom.net by detaining all Falun Gong practitioners who are computer-savvy.

14. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Dafa Practitioner Wang Naibin Sustains Ankle Fracture from Barbaric, Law-breaking Police Torture

Mr. Wang Naibin, 36 years old, is from Jiaohe City/Jilin Province. On September 24, 2003, when he was distributing truth-clarifying materials, he was arrested. The policemen of Dunhua City Wood Bureau's No.3 Police Precinct in Jilin Province are the culprits. One policeman beat him savagely. When the practitioner called his family he said, "My ankle is broken from their beatings." The policemen shamelessly lied, saying, "This happened because he jumped from a high story."

15. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] After October 1st, the Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp Officials Began a New Round of Persecution Against Dafa Practitioners

After October 1, 2003, the Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp authorities in Jiutai City/Jilin Province started a new round of persecution against Dafa practitioners. On the one hand they continued to viciously torment our practitioners; on the other hand they didn't release firmly devoted practitioners. Instead, they unreasonably extended these determined practitioners' detention terms.

16. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Persecution against Dafa Practitioner Liu Quanlian

One day in June 2003, police discovered Ms. Liu Quanlian from Hengyang City/Hunan Province with truth-clarifying materials. They unlawfully took her to the Miaopu Police Precinct in the Zhuhui District/Hengyang City. Because Ms. Liu refused to cooperate, she was cruelly tormented. Her hands were tightly handcuffed; then policemen stomped on the handcuffs and yanked the handcuffs up and down. Liu Quanlian was tortured this way for a long time, till the policemen were tired. They also ransacked her house and confiscated Teacher's pictures, Dafa books and lectures. Later they sent Liu to Hengyang City's No.2 Detention Center for four months' detention and then sentenced her two years of forced labor. Because her medical condition did not qualify her, the labor camp refused to accept her. She was "fined" 3,000 Yuan cash without being given a receipt.

17. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Enforcers from the Railway Bureau "610 Office" Often Arrest Dafa Practitioners Illegally on the Trains

The Railway Bureau "610 Office" enforcers in Harbin City/Heilongjiang Province often instigated policemen on the trains to search for and arrest Dafa practitioners. Since July 22, 1999, they have arrested many Dafa practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal, transferred trains in Harbin City or returned from Beijing and sent them to Harbin City's Railway Detention Center. Every Monday during the railway bureau's shift change meeting, they gave a report how many Falun Gong practitioners from a certain county or city who went to Beijing to appeal had been prevented from doing what they planned. The "610" officials also ordered each unit to "keep an eye on its personnel."

For example, on February 15, 2000, on the No.72 Express Train, which departed from Harbin City - within less than four hours after departure - 39 Falun Gong practitioners were discovered and were forcibly ejected at the next stop, Changchun City. These practitioners were handed over to train policemen at Changchun City's station for transfer back. Policemen usually interrogated and examined passenger's seating, compartment by compartment and open passengers' luggage without due cause. Many Dafa practitioners were arrested because they found banners in their bags. The other passengers were appalled at such rude behavior.

18. [Yuanjiang City, Hunan Province] Illegal Detention of Dafa Practitioner Tan Zhengqiang

In February 2003 when Dafa practitioner Mr. Tan Zhengqiang from a village in Yuanjiang City of Hunan Province, distributed truth-clarifying materials, he was arrested and sent to Yuanjiang City's Yangshiqiao Detention Center. If his family wants to visit him, they would have to "buy tickets," invite officials to a dinner and even become subject to extortion, all of which are illegal. The practitioner's family members have been extorted 8,000 to 9,000 Yuan. Tan's situation in the detention center is unknown.
