(Clearwisdom.net October 13, 2003) Ms. Sun Shulan is a Dafa practitioner in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. She is 80 years old and has never had any formal education. However, she can read through the entire book Zhuan Falun and all of Master Li' articles.
In early October of 2001, she traveled to Beijing by train to validate Dafa and was arrested on Tiananmen Square. The police only witnessed her saying Dafa is good and doing nothing else to co-operate with them. So, they deceived her by saying, "You are old, you cannot endure the metal bed and chair torture here. You do not need to give us your name and you do not need to sign you name. We will release you if you leave a fingerprint on this sheet."
The older woman did not think much, so she pressed a fingerprint and went home. After she returned home, through studying the Fa and discussing with fellow practitioners, she quickly realized the pressing of that fingerprint was also cooperating with the evil, which would be a blemish in her cultivation path. She decided to wash off this blemish with action.
On November 26, 2001, she once again traveled to Beijing by train to validate Dafa on Tiananmen Square. She unfurled a banner that read "Falun Dafa Is Good," and shouted "Falun Dafa is good," "Falun Dafa is the righteous cultivation way," and "My Master is innocent." Her voice shocked the police momentarily, and then they rushed in. They put her into a police vehicle without any explanation and took her to Qianmen Police Station. A policeman in his 20s thought she was walking too slowly. He came up and gave her a kick and hard push, cursing, "You are so old, yet you do not stay at home to enjoy life but come here to look for death!"
"If I die and you know that Falun Dafa is good, then it would be worth it," the older woman kindly replied.
"Ha, you are good at talking! How old are you?" said the policeman.
She replied, "78 years old."
The policeman then said, "78? Are you kidding? Do you think we will not beat you if you tell us a high age? Be honest with me, have you even reached your 60s?"
She said, "Dafa practitioners always speak the truth, so we do not lie to others. We are even not afraid of death. Do you think I'm going to be afraid of the beating?!"
The policeman said, "If you are close to 80, how come you do not have a single grey hair?"
She replied, "I have to thank my Master. I had all kinds of diseases before practicing Dafa. I did not know if I would survive to the next day, or even if I could survive for that day. The amount of medicine I took was as much as the food I ate. After I practiced Dafa, my health completely recovered. My apartment is on the 6th floor. In the past, people had to carry me up and down the stairs. Now I can handle it without any difficulty. I not only can take care of myself, but also can prepare meals for the children." Her voice was calm and peaceful.
The young police officer watched the older woman, his vicious look from moments ago was gone and he became quiet. In the evening, the older woman was taken to Beijing Huairou Detention Center. The older woman stayed firm with righteous thoughts and did not cooperate with any of the evils' requests, orders or commands. She did not reveal her name and address, and refused to eat and drink to protest the unlawful detention and persecution. She only said Falun Dafa is good. The jailors didn't know what to do so they released her two days later.
Around 5 o'clock on September 6, 2002, Daqing police suddenly entered her house and hatefully asked, " Do you still practice Falun Gong?" She replied, "Dafa is so wonderful, how can I not practice?! I did not even take a break on New Year's Eve."
The police then took her to Daqing Ranghulu Police Precinct. The older woman firmly held her righteous thoughts and righteous belief, and no matter what they asked, she only replied, "I only know Dafa is good. I have reached my 80s, other people used to take care of me, now it is me who takes care of other people. I do not know how to lie. Moreover, my Master also does not allow us to lie. My personal feeling is: Falun Dafa is good!"
The older woman stopped eating and drinking to protest her unlawful kidnapping and detention. She was later released. The former local police officer Chen Yaosong had repeatedly harassed the older woman and threatened her, "Do not think that we will not arrest you because of your age!"
To avoid further harassment and persecution, the older woman had to return to her hometown in May of 2003.
